Change and improve the development news and intro in V-Logs

Recommended Posts

Bring back Tanki Online V-Log intro music.

I have noticed that V-Logs no longer have an intro music related to Tanki Online. That intro music makes it very distinguishable for players to know that its a V-Log, especially for new Recruit players who never watched weekly V-Logs before. The intro music is precisely 15 seconds long. My suggestion is for V-Log makers to add the intro V-Log music back as it was before as heard in this V-Log below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8G7JlC7lG8&t=47s

Better development news.

Better development news in V-Logs. V-Logs are always good for properly explaining about development news. However, V-Logs don't always show what the new features under development supposed to look like or function like. Suppose that developers started work on developing a new turret, hull, protection module or game mode. At early stages, developers always hide the development news from our views, and that's quite unfair for players. Sometimes rumors come out but they are mostly wrong or suspicious.

Merge V-Logs and Live streams.

Instead of skipping V-Logs from time to time, it would be much better it V-Log makers would cross breed live streams and V-Logs as one so that V-Logs can last longer and give much more general information for players. Reward such as promo codes and other such goodies can be given out in special videos such as eSports videos like Parkour just to keep everything more organized.

Longer V-Logs.

I have noticed that V-Logs are often too short. That is under 10 minutes long and does not give out enough detailed information. That's why V-Logs must now be updated and refurbished so that they give out better and more detailed explanation of what's to come later for development news and other events such as holidays and discounts.

V-Logs in HD.

Today, is the world of HD (high definition) video. When watching weekly V-Logs, I have noticed that the video quality is fuzzy. This fuzziness makes it difficult to spot background hidden V-Log codes and other objective that players are required to find in special contests such as THE GAME or other puzzles that gives out clues. Better sound quality and better video quality is now needed for watching V-Logs. Now that 4K video exists, especially for Ultra HD TVs like 4K TVs, it's now the time for future V-Logs to display video with ultra sharp 4K resolution.

V-Log ending.

When V-Logs end, it would be great if V-Log creators added all the names of people who creates weekly V-Logs. That would also make life easy for players to report and complaints regarding V-Logs themselves or what would players want to see in V-Logs as well.

V-Log requests.

I have been thoroughly thinking about giving players the ability to ask V-Log creators what would players would want to request in upcoming V-Logs. That could be any requests about questions to ask and answer, requesting for a new feature and how it would work. The ideas and suggestions is a great forum topic for game requests but the only problem is that everything is explained in works. If V-Log requests are added to future V-Logs than, player's requests would be properly explained in visual which would greatly help players visualize their requests on development looks like. For example, how would the new HTML 5 differ and look like in comparison to the currently HTML5 version?

Face reveal of Alex Lynch on every V-Log.

We all know how Alex Lynch sounds like. He has great English speaking skills and is very well good at thoroughly explaining things. That is to properly express yourself! Not all players in Tanki Online know who Alex Lynch is or how he looks like so much suggestion would be for V-Log creators to make a small projection of his face on the bottom right corner of each weekly V-Logs so we all get to know him in person. That would help players know him better and even submit private messages about Tanki Online to Alex Lynch when needed.

Thank you.

Declined

Bring back Tanki Online V-Log intro music.

We don't accept ideas for reverting changes. The music was probably reduced to shorten the V-log length and get straight to the point faster. I see myself as a very patient person, but even I found myself skipping the music after hearing it over 100 times in so many v-logs.

Better development news.

Unfortunately not every week brings new interesting development info. When the V-log makers get new confirmed news about the development process, I can assure you that they add it to the V-log ASAP, and tell us as much as possible. But sometimes there's just weeks where none of the development work was interesting enough to mention.

Merge V-Logs and Live streams.

This will not happen. Livestreams and V-logs are two very distinct types of communication. V-logs are meant to be flashy, concise, very visual and engaging even to people with the shortest attention span. They give only the most important details and leave out the boring stuff. On the other hand, livestreams are long and don't require as much production effort, allowing the participants to take their time and really explain in detail whatever topic is being discussed.

Same goes for longer V-logs - they need to be as short as possible in order to keep the viewers' attention.

V-Logs in HD.

I suppose that's a valid point, but I don't think the V-log is a kind of medium that needs 4K quality. I'd be perfectly fine with it being just 480p to be honest.

If V-Log requests are added to future V-Logs than, player's requests would be properly explained in visual which would greatly help players visualize their requests on development looks like.

If you mean developers answering players' questions, then that is usually reserved for livestreams, but the V-logs do occasionally involve Q&A sessions, especially after release of a major feature. If you mean requests and feedback about the V-log in general, you can post that in youtube comments under the video, or comment in the V-log forum topic.

Face reveal of Alex Lynch on every V-Log.

That's not necessary. In fact, I can't name a single video where the voice-over artist was shown on screen, because it just doesn't help the video content.

V-Log music.

The V-Log music is not disturbing at all. It can be added back because its so short.

Development news.

As soon as development has began, whether it is interesting or not, players must be notified about the outcome of the development and what its all about.

V-Log in HD.

Players would prefer to watch V-Logs in HD rather than such low resolution of 480p.

As soon as development has began, whether it is interesting or not, players must be notified about the outcome of the development and what its all about.

You see, the problem is that not everything that's started in development ends up being released. For this reason they can't afford to make promises before it's almost fully certain that something will happen. Just look at the clan system - when it was released, devs promised that there will be another update with increase of functionality, more spaces, additional bonuses, etc. For various reasons this didn't happen, so as a result we ended up with the same clan system that was released 2 years ago and a bunch of people complaining that the promised update didn't happen.

I agree with you Maf. Not all development updates are promised.

Now, that you are on the topic of the clan system, it would be great if developers added the missing features that developers promised players two years ago.

The clan system is now two years out of date in terms of features and technology, so it must be updates with many cool features. The same thing goes to the Tanki Online downloadable client. It too is out of date and must be updated with new features such as multiple video qualities and other features and settings.

When V-Log creators start to improve V-Logs, please let us know beforehand in future V-Logs when discussing about development news and changes to V-Logs.

Thank you.

Riddler, you're clearly a passionate (wo?)man when it comes to ideas but this is just scraping the bottom of the barrel. I'm happy to see any new content. It reminds me the devs are  listening and still working on the game. I couldn't care less if it were a twenty second long text wall with dancing monkeys in the background.

Yes, that's true. I have brilliant ideas. Now that I have excellent experience with Tanki Online, I try my very best to make sure that my ideas properly fit in with the game, and that they don't get declined like they used to.

I always try to think of new ideas that were never added or even thought of in the game. I try my best to come up with new content that would keep on making Tanki Online better and better for all players around the world to enjoy.

The V-Logs are not so fuzzy.

Also-how does it help the V-Log to show Alex Lynch?

V-LOGs were way better back in the day when the info was presesented ny Semyon Kirov instead of having random scenes of MM battles when there is nothing specific to be shown.

I guess that's RIDDLER_8's point.

That being said I am unsure if Lynch can present information well and make the audience happy. Maybe.

Yes, my point is for Alex Lynch to show up in a small corner camera mode and also display random matchmaking battle scenes. During the old days when Semyon Kirov was around, he showed his face in full screen mode which was kind of good but did not show battles in action.

Now, my update is to show both Alex Lynch and matchmaking battles showcasing updates.

Yes, that's true. I have brilliant ideas.

Look up. No you don't. Even if you did, don't say it. From the looks of your ideas, you have no experience with Tanki. I'm sorry to be rude, but sometimes I wonder if you can understand English. The guy above you literally said (in a nice way) that this was a bad idea, and then you say that it's true, you have brilliant ideas? Honestly, send me the link to ONE good idea you've ever posted.

Honestly, send me the link to ONE good idea you've ever posted.

Two of his ideas got implemented ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After inspection: I'll concede that the glow after picking up boxes was not a bad idea, in fact I quite like it because you see if the other team uses a supply.

But you know my opinion about challenges. Tbh I hate them. So no thanks at all to Riddler for that.

Yeah, picking up supply boxes to gain some experience points does give some small advantage of the use of supplies. Developers would talk about such a feature if its under development.

What?

Why did you change the status to declined?

Because it was under review before. Now, after we had some time to review it, it was decided that the idea is declined since the changes you proposed were deemed unnecessary and/or very unlikely to happen. I explained everything in my first reply here.
