An egg isn’t round... But I’m with PR on this.

An egg is more round than flat. Plus the earth is not perfectly rounded either it is a bit flat on the poles and larger on the equator. he

An egg is a 3D ellipse, which no, I can’t think what the real name for that is. Not the same shape as the earth. And obviously the earth is round.

By the way, I forgot to mention, the Earth is not round, it bulges at the equator for a number of reasons. However, since the polar meltdown, some of that bulge has disappeared, not much though. They found this out by measuring sea level. If the Earth was round, the sea level would be somewhat even all the way around, but it isn't. They have noticed, over the millenniums, that the sea level is getting lower and lower around the equator and is out of proportion to what it is at the poles.

It’s more round than flat.

I never said it was flat, but you said it was round. But, yes, you're right, it is more round than flat. Just like an egg...more round than flat.

Fair enough. Though, I have no idea what anyone’s arguing about anymore.

Pretty obvious we went off topic from that. Though,, nice answer.

The more I think of it, questions like this are interesting because of the way they make you imagine stuff.

Another paradox goes like: "What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?"

That could be left for a different topic if anyone is interested.

That topic makes more sense.

Well, the cycle of evolution can be explained with an example-

the giraffe uses its long neck to reach tall trees. So, long neck = more food. So, the short neck giraffes would eventually die out and the long necked ones will flourish. Probably thats how we have long necked giraffes.  (or maybe it is the cycle of adaptation)

back to the question, chickens are a result of evolution. but then what came first? well, the egg came first as the birds that laid the egg from which chicken came were not chicken. As i said, chicken are a result of evolution. So, the flaws the two birds had were covered in the chicken.

BONUS!

EDIT: what the..... more votes for chicken? dont you guys have google? it says as first thing-

So in a nutshell (or an eggshell, if you like), two birds that weren't really chickens created a chicken egg, and hence, we have an answer: The egg came first, and then it hatched a chicken.

C,mon guys utilize that mobile device of yours. All you have to do is search it.

The Egg. If you think about it, based on the theory of evolution, some sort of ancestor of the chicken would have to had evolved in the chicken. Of course, evolution isn't like it is portrayed in pokemon, you can't evolve in the middle of your life. As fittest genes get passed on, and the unfit genes die out, this ancestor at one point would have became the modern chicken. So, naturally, the parent of the first chicken in existence would have had to mate with the other parent, then their genes are paired up - turns out it will become the modern chicken - and this is all quantified in the egg that is layed. Once the egg hatches, you get the first chicken. So therefore, the egg came before the chicken.

The logic is plain simple; it's how you perceive it that forms the puzzle.

Would you really call that first egg, out of which a chick hatched, a hen's egg? What if I say the first chicken came from a dinosaur's egg?

If you think that the egg belongs to the parent (which seems rather obvious), then the first chicken hatched from another organism's egg, and then it laid the first true chicken's egg.

Well the chicken's ancestors came first, because obviously they've been bred to produce the average common chicken.

So the chicken came first in my opinion.
