Um, the laser for shaft doesn't appear until it is nearly fully charged from the enemy's end of the screen.

I'm aware of that, but if you're sniping you have to hide the laser. Without the laser you could aim where you know there's an opposing tank, zero in on his location and shoot. No running away or hiding from lasers.

The one thing that I don't like about the laser on shaft TBH, is that Damn bright dot in the middle of the crosshairs. It obstructs part of your view.

"Let's allow a gun that can oneshot everything in the game to be completely unavoidable, that surely is a balanced change." this is what I'm reading here, lmao. You have gauss if you don't want to be seen aiming now.

Unless you want a massive damage nerf along with your missing laser? Both turrets that use a laser to aim have enough damage to devastate or heavily damage heavy hulls.

Yes, I have Gauss and I am aware that other players have them, too. What affects their Gauss, affects mine. I can survive the arcade shot from Shaft, Striker (one rocket) and Gauss. But I cannot survive a fully charged shot, especially if I don't have protection for that turret. At the moment, I don't have Gauss protection and will sometimes survive a full charged shot if I have full health, but there won't be much left. I've seen many others who have survived a fully charged Gauss.

My Titan is too slow and too big to dodge most laser shots. So, for me, a laser doesn't make much difference. My Viking is much more vulnerable than the Titan is.

There's other turrets without lasers that can one shot. Gauss isn't the only one.

Gauss only really oneshots if you're unprotected, and a light hull or an unlucky medium hull. LCR railgun on the other hand...

If you go straight on lasers with titan well knowing you can lose over 70% of your hp instantly even with DA well then that's your fault... I rather survive and either wait or go another way so I can still do things.

I suppose it is my fault, most times. I mostly play team support with Vulcan/Titan. If I'm out in the open smearing bullets to weaken health so my teammates have easy kills, and a laser sets on me, I don't have the speed to run for cover or to dodge it. Sometimes, if I'm lucky and am able to duck behind a building, I still die....lag, they tell me. On the other hand, if I can get the enemy's attention and take a few shots, that may be just enough distraction for my team to score. BTW, I'm not a camper. You won't find any moss under my feet.

My instant reaction to seeing a laser is either DA or dome, because I know what's coming: a 5000+ damage shot.

Mine is to hide back in cover and let them find some other sucker to kill.

If I'm low on health, like less than 15%, then I hope they used that full charge to "reset" (family-friendly term for 'kill') me. But, if I am reset with only 1% health left, I congratulate the one who shot me with a "pro kill, dude".

Otherwise I do one of two things:

A. hide like a Shaft - which is usually called cowardly (don't care, I ain't getting shot)

B. hide like a smart XPer (ooooo, look at me! nimble enough to hide from a shot!)

Basically the longer ranged a turret is, the less damage it deals per second.

Not always the case.

Example would be hammer and Vulcan.

It basically comes down to the more damage a turret deals per shot, the slower the firing rate.
