Do NOT buy containers! $10000 is not worth the potential reward!

Thought I would share this, since there are certain things that you can have an extremely low chance of getting from containers, and some people may think it is worth the money and/or time to simply get containers, open them and hope for the best gifts, as eventually it will pay off. I will say that I can understand something being 1% chance in a container, at lowest chance. But many videos have shown that the it is nowhere near 1% chance to getting an Exotic item in a container. Based on what I have researched, it seems that the chance for containers lies around the percentage of 0.1%.

If I'm not mistaken 100 containers would cost $100, meaning to have a pretty much guaranteed chance of getting an exotic, you would require to spend $10 000 just for that alone, what the hell is wrong with these developers?! You aren't exactly guaranteed, but it pretty much secures it. Randomisation simply works that way, there is always a statistical chance set in the game.

Okay, so you are not going to spend $10000 just to get one item, in fact you could spend 100 times less than and still get million crystals worth of stuff by just buying crystals at the most optimal of times + the XT skins that are available from challenges and are guaranteed. So you could just open the containers you get from weekly gifts, right? Well...

It would most likely take you nearly 70 7 YEARS to get ONE Exotic reward from a container.

You used to get 6 containers every week, which would mean it would still have taken you around 35 years on average to get these but now that availability chance is even lower. Since that, it is rather confusing why they would think to swap container types when the chances of getting top/near top rewards are near impossible until years of opening containers for most players regardless. May be since hundreds of thousands of containers get opened every week or month, they felt people were to lucky with them. Sounds like a rather dumb worry to me. And by the way, you still have the chance where someone might get 2 or more after opening this many, while others will get nothing until may be 50000 containers opened. Just to open that many via 15 container openings, it would require 28 non-stop hours for 50k containers or 5 and a half hours for 10k containers.

All the other containers you are more likely to get will give you plenty of extra rewards, which accumulate the stuff you get, however it takes less time to just buy crystals out-right at best possible times and simply doing challenges, which boost your XP too along the way sinc eyou are playing, rather than wasting time on hundreds of thousands of containers to open.

EDIT: In all my math doing, somehow didn't notice that 0.1% equates to 1 in every 1000 containers, which is x10 less amount of money and time from what I calculated above, but still hoping for an exotic item from containers by buying or opening them from the ones you get weekly is near impossible.

I'm gonna assume that you meant 10,000 tankoins. Which is equivalent to $100.

And what do you mean it's not worth it? You could get several epic and rare items, maybe an exotic item and definitely boat loads of supplies and crystals.

I'll let you do the math and I'll assume you're correct, 'cause I ain't checkin' it. About once every 4 months, or so, I'll buy 10 containers just for the heck of it. (Feeling lucky at the Craps table). I don't think I'll go bankrupt doing that.

I agree with the fact and also I believe that developers should reveal the percentage probability of obtaining each & every item in containers. Some of you are might not aware, but companies like Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo & Apple are going to follow that path by disclosing the rarity of items in loot boxes  :)

If we pay for containers, we should have the right to know the chances of we getting specific items from them  :)

Not sure where the 70 years part came from. If you get 3 Containers a week, that's 156 per year. Not even 10 years to get 1000.

That's excluding Challenges.

What's in exotic anyway, cosmetics or a bunch of crystals, which if you're a buyer you will have heaps of. Heck one day of hardcore premium with double funds will probably have you full of crystals already!

Additionaly, if you want a Hornet XT so that makes it a 0.1/31 (as there are 30 skins in the game and in the exotic section, there is a million crystal award). If 70 years to get one exotic award, then 70 times 31 to get a higher chance of getting the specific hull or turret you like. That makes it 2,170 years. 2,170 years to get a fair chance of getting your favourite 'skin'. If I am not wrong, that makes 31,000 dollars too. And again, thats just mathematical. Its only a chance.

And the average cost of a kidney according to US medical report is 20,000 USD. So, not only iphones require you to sell a kidney.. But TO requires 2, for just a skin..

Are any virtual rewards worth any amount of real money? It's a very subjective question. If a person finds that the thrill of opening containers and getting rewards is greater than the enjoyment they could get from spending the $10000 on anything else, then it's worth it. For most people that will not be the case, so they would rather spend it on something useful, or at least a different kind of entertainment.

If your only goal is to get a skin, then containers are absolutely not worth it, since even 1000 of them does not guarantee an exotic item due to the randomness of the rewards. But you shouldn't look past the massive amounts of supplies, crystals, paints and other goodies you can get from them, so if your goal is to get a bit of everything, then containers are probably the right thing for you.

Lol, you’re well off with your percentages, but I see where you’re coming from

Just divide most digits I initially posted by x10 and it's pretty much spot-on. Sad I can't change the topic title either.
