Drone batteries are such a problem because they only last for 1 minute. That is way too short. I have come up with a new alternative so that players can use drones more effectively for longer periods of time. There are two suitable options. Let me explain below:

 

Remove drone batteries:

 

Drone batteries could be removed completely so that players can use drones whenever they want just like they do with overdrives. That means that drones could be used at any time without worrying of running out of batteries which makes drones unusable. That would be the best solution.

 

OR

 

Buff up batteries total time to 7 minutes:

 

Since matchmaking battles now last for 7 minutes, the second alternative would be to buff up the total charge time of batteries to last 7 minutes rather than 1 minute. If batteries last for 7 whole minutes, that means that 1 battery is perfectly enough for use during a whole matchmaking battle. Therefore, players would only need to use only 1 battery per battle rather than wasting 7 batteries per battle which only lasts 1 minute each.

 

These are my two solutions for drone batteries. If you have any more solutions for drone batteries, please list them down in the comments below. I'd love to hear from you more drone batteries ideas.

Batteries with their current prices and short duration exist for economic reasons. To put it simply - they are intentionally expensive to make you run out of them and need to buy more, so that the game can generate revenue.

 

We don't accept ideas for reducing items' prices, but I'll take this opportunity to shamelessly advertise and invite you to check out my alternative idea for changing battery duration so that it matches the drone's effectiveness. I realise it makes me a bit of a hypocrite since my idea also technically reduces battery prices, but I believe it's more logical than simply buffing the duration to 7 minutes.

I am not asking for a reduction in prices. What I was suggesting is batteries should either be removed completely or expanding their duration to 7 minutes. Since Tanki Online needs to make revenue by having players buy batteries, the best alternative would be to keep batteries in the game, but only extend battery life for each battery to 7 minutes. That is enough for only 1 battery to completely cover you and make your drones usable for a whole battle.

I just use my drones when I need them. Otherwise I have them unequipped to save me from wasting batteries.

That's basically the same thing. Right now in order to have a drone enabled, you spend 300 crystals every minute (ignoring discounts and free batteries). You use 7 batteries per battle, which is 2100 crystals. If batteries are removed, then drones become free to use. If battery duration is increased to 7 minutes, then you use only 300 crystals per battle instead of 2100. Result: price of operating a drone is reduced.

That would make it worse for players. Right now if you join a battle with a drone activated and decide to leave halfway through, you may have spent 2-4 batteries, which is around 1200 crystals. But if each battery costs 2100, then you spend 2100 as soon as you join and it doesn't matter if you stay till the end or leave 10 seconds in. Better to leave it as is.

None.   Only equip your drone if you really need it and only if you have saved up batteries.

 

Otherwise, play without a drone like the rest of us do.

I try to use batteries only when needed, like when I need to finish Top 3 in the winning team.
