It is annoying that a lot of people do not understand that some changes can not be done, such as crystal boxes, "Old Tanki", etc.
Tanki is a very nice game and a lot of people do not realize how good this game is!

 

Yes, there are some things to fix like MM, but as it is written in the article - there are not enough players to make the balance perfect, but I personally think that you can make it little bit better. There are still annoying battles that finish 5-0. I think that you should make the MM system to look for the "weekly progression" of a player and how good he is playing for the last 7-15-20 days. It doesn't matter if the MM system chooses M3 Viking&Isida when the player is noob (can't rotate turret, doesn't heal teammates, doesn't use overdrive properly or doesn't at all). The system can't predict if he can use OD properly or if he is noob(turret rotation can be predicted), but you can make the system to choose players by micro-upgrades, "weekly progression"(as I mentioned) and etc.

 

You sad that there are not enough players in the game and it is hard to make the MM perfect, but you can make it a bit better, I believe it.

Pay attention on the "weekly progression" - make a systems that looks how good has a player performed for the last days(3 or 10 days or even the previous 2 battles) and make the MM based on that. And now you are going to tell me - "Yes, we have created the MM system to choose balanced teams". But make it a bit better because if in my team there are 3 players with M4 Vikings and so on - it doesn't matter, if there's a player from the enemy team with M3 turret and hull and booster drone that has full MU - he will literaly destroy us all! 

You can make it better, at least the battles that finish 5-0 to be less common!

Personally I like the MM at this point of the game! Just increase the time little bit (9 or 10 min).


In the next paragraph I am going to mention few things - advertising; making the game more interesting for beginners; personal oppinion; and not making the game trash with 5000 turrets and hull...

 

I'm worried about this game! I don't want it to die. It is nice game.(to be honest it is my favourite game) no matter that such beautiful games such as Minecraft or CS:GO exist(**** Fortnite) (DO NOT advertise and promote this games!!!), I LOVE TANKI! :wub: I talked with my friends(real life friends) and we were talking that Tanki should start advertising the game. We were talking that ads on Youtube will be soooo effective...  and SOOO expensive! As it is mentioned in the topic - Tanki should do something for the beginners of the game, make the game more interesting for them. But to not add a lot of turrets and hulls and new staff to make the game unbalanced - this would be terrible!!! I agree that there has to be randomness in game and some kind of chaos. Beacause if there's no randomness, every duel or fight between players in every game will end in the same way. There should be balance between the balance and the randomness(hope you understood me).

They should make the game more interesting for beginners and after that advertise the game. Hope they succeed to do everything!


It is bad that a lot of players do not understand the updates and hate them. For example the update with the smart supplies is one of the best updates in the game.https://tankionline.com/en/2014/09/smart-cooldowns-go-live/Unfortunately this update was misunderstood and hated a lot. (We don't want this update; give our money back, I hate Tanki; never gonna play this game again). BUT WHY?! Why is almost every update so hated?! That's National Psychology or just Psychology, beacause most of the people are learnt to hate. And a trait about today's society - WE DO NOT WANT TO THINK!!! 

So, the update with the smart supplies(smart cooldowns) is one of the best. I will explain why. Before this update when a player was respawned he pressed 2 3 4 and he had double armor (DA), double damage (DD) and nitro. Same and for a player from the other team, he spawns and applies DA, DD and nitro. So what is the point of this thing? There is no point! Why?! Because what is the point two tanks who have 1000health each and turret that causes 100 damage per second to apply DA and DD at the same time?! There is no point because if you fight without supplies you will need ten seconds to destroy the enemy tank 1000health x 100 damage per second = 10seconds to kill enemy tank. Now, if both tanks apply DA and DD, the damage per second will become 200 but the health will increase too and it will become 2000. That means 2000health x 200damage per second = 10 seconds to kill the enemy tank.

And when the damage and the health increase at the same time what happens - NOTHING!!!   :mellow:

PROVE ME WRONG - 1000health x 100dmg per second = 10 seconds to kill the enemy tank

                                      2000health x 200dmg per second =10 seconds to kill the enemy tank

What is the conclusion - players were wasting crystals and money for supplies. Only repair kit was more effective. As mentioned in the topic when they added repair kit the game became pay to win. You can not say when an item is pay to win that is not effective. IT IS! 

 

With this update there is more randomness in the game and the game got more balanced! When you spawn you have to choose what to apply and it depends on the situation! If they remove this update, they will have to remove and drones(defender, supplier, trickster - drones that deal with the cooldown and probably other drones).

 

Tanki, just remove the cooldown for changing weapons in parkour, please!

It is SAD that the game looses players because they missunderstand the updates! Look back in 2018. The EN Tanki youtube channel had 30k-50k views on a V-blog, now the V-blogs get around 15k views. Ok, I checked and the russian, V-blog it has 60k views which made me smile :)  .
Still playing, still hope. At least the game won't die the next 5 years.

 

 

Now I will finish with this post beacause 3 hours passed since I started!

I can continue writing but I am tired and probably nobody will read this post!

 

Hope I will have time in the future(when I graduate) to become a helper or chat moderator of this game for a year!

Say Hi to Hazle-Ruh and other developers for me; and Tell them that please keep moving forward and do their best about keeping this Great Game alive. Because I want to enjoy playing it until my old ages.

First of all, I'd like to thank Maf for his work on this post. I really appreciate it. I do understand that you are merely a messanger, a link between Semyon Strizhrak and us, players.
 
Secondly:
What Hazel says is so manipulated. Game being unattractive to new players cause of Flash? How about the MM system? The first few battles you play are sometimes OK on a new account, but as you progress a bit you will start to face drugging RTL accounts and buyers. How do you expect anyone to stay? And PRO battles are now available from WO5. I remember being a newb in 2014. I could create battles, there weren't so many druggers, and drug mechanics were more interesting. I could chat with other players and make friends as we continued playing on the same map (Rio was my favorite). Nowadays the MM system throws you into a 7 minute chaotic battle. No way to rematch, make friends, talk, attack in teams. Everybody is hunting stars (except me, cause I still have some life force inside).
 
You say you need to keep changing the game to make it stay relevant? Well, the decline in players accelerated soon after you added overdrives. MM did no better. Percentage-wise the game is declining at a higher rate than in 2015, which is extraordinary since games usually retain a stabler player base after the peak times are long over.

I think you may need to re-read the part about why the number of players is declining. Tanki is an old game that's long past its prime time. It lost its main uniqueness and selling points, so there is not much reason for new players to be interested. Old players have always been leaving at a fairly constant rate, but it's the number of new players that decreased. Updates like MM and ODs only help with player retention, and without them and other "bad" updates Tanki would be dead years ago
