Unpopular opinion: Players with 9500+ gear scores are likely to be bullies

I wouldn't say I am a bully, even though I have over 9500 GS Rating...I try my hardest to be nice to everyone, and I think there are relatively few people that are annoyed by me... :(

Whoosh, there are many who would say otherwise. Ehm, @Devoted and others.

I am exclusively talking about players in parkour maps, where supply cooldown is deactivated.

I usually don't show any reaction in the chat when such players pick on me, which is what they want. Having 3 top-tier tanks all attacking me the moment I spawn, because I accidentally "touched" their friend, is pretty dumb. But yea I guess they're like a herd or something, protecting each other from the outsiders..

Yes, theres no talking to people like that. I do the same thing you do by not speaking, if I say something they tell me I'm raging lmao. I have had this one player for a month now that follows me everywhere I go and jumps me. Never does a 1v1 always has friends with him I leave and he makes his way to the next parkour battle I'm in, harassing. I believe he has a crush on me but I dont swing that way.

This account is more than 5 years old, yet the highest GS I can reach now is 8600.

What are you spending your crystals on?

Try equipping a drone - that will pump your GS.

My Major General account gets to 6984 with drone, animated paint and all m2 equipment

This account gets to 9420 with drone and sub-m4 equipment.  It's not that hard to push 9500 if you play 4+ years.

What are you spending your crystals on?

I spend them on new turrets, hulls, paints, and alterations whenever I save enough. The game gets really boring for me if I'm forced to use the same combo and keep MUing it only, like yes I would have a much higher gear score but what's the fun in that?

The drone I have boosts my GS by a whooping 50 points, while using up 300 crystals per minute to do so... not a good deal.

IMO paints are a waste of crystals since 1) they don't help you battle and 2) you get free paints in containers - too many if you ask me.

My Trooper drone boosts my GS by 200 points.  Don't you have a stockpile of batteries?  Each of my accounts has ~ 1800 to 2000 batteries - mostly because I did not use them except for DMs where surviving spawnings is crucial.  With a large stockpile I can now use them whenever I feel a mission might be difficult.

Oh for the paints it was usually the cheap ones, nowadays I don't bother buying any because of containers.

I do have 1.3k batteries, but the drone is 2/20 and costs a load of crystals. I can't afford upgrading the thing, especially considering that I have turrets which need to be upgraded asap, like Hammer and Fire.

You can pretty much "win" this game by becoming a buyer, all other F2P games are like this and it's completely normal, they need the buyers to keep their servers running. Unfortunately in tanki, buyers are often given too many privileges over non-buyers, to the point where they can bully anyone as much as they want with no consequences. The game would likely be cheering for them anyway.

Needs his friends to jump someone and never accepts a 1v1? Total opposite of a tough guy.

Bullies aren't actually tough. That is why they try to intimidate others.

But what was the author of this topic referring to by 'bullies'?

I think he means that the person behind the tank is defining himself by the Gear Score he has. Apparently, this person is not happy with his real life so he substitutes an online number to justify his existence and make him feel he has some control over others if not his life.

What do you mean by a bully? A buyer?

Or do you mean someone who bullies on the chat and things like that?

Or is it someone who won't help teammates, pushes them if they need to get through, and steals supplies?

I am confused.

Hey, I'd like to clear some things up, since I figured the original post was a bit ambiguous.

By the word "bully" I mean those who see themselves as superior to weaker players, and who engaged before in fights against lower GS players because they knew very well they wouldn't stand a chance. They'd have a gear score approaching its upper limit, use the booster drone for easy kills, and have their friends around for protection. Some like to mine an entire parkour map to rack up hundreds of kills, without being stopped.

I may have given an exaggerated estimate of 70% fitting that definition, but the fact is you're more likely to see higher GS players exhibit this behavior than lower GS players.

Also on your last two points:

-- Chat bullying is the weakest form of bullying. It can be tackled by simply ignoring the player, or ridiculing their attempts to tick you off.

-- A player who won't help teammates, pushes them, or steals their supplies is called a mult. You can report these players for their actions.

In parkour you see bullies at all ranks.

Battles start calm but some players are like waiting to see who starts the fight. Some don't even wait, if they think you have a weak tank they start attacking you.

I think in part it depends on how strong you are. If you're weak you don't want to fight, because obviously you'll be losing, but if you're strong that strength brings out the bully that's in you, not on everyone of course, but I think many of us are bullies just waiting for the opportunity, if not in real world then in a game.

Not all of them are bad but if I see a group of buyers beginning to dominate I simply quit the battle and join another. I wouldn't call them bullies just losers spending money on a tank game.

I see a couple people saying "IM NOT A BULLY I HAVE 9500+ GS" like yeah, topic is literally called people with 9500+ gs are LIKELY to be bullies, not automatically are. And Ima agree with that, a lot of players with that high gs are likely to be buyers, and in my own experience, buyers are almost always crap heads to other players. For what ever reason they think they're better than us lol

Not all buyers are, but a huuuugggeee amount of them are, especially the ones that hang out in parkour doing nothing XD

@Benefactor has 9999 GS, and I don't see @Benefactor bullying anyone anywhere.

@Jay is the same.

Lol. @MrThunder, the friendliest YTber I know, also has 9999 GS.

This guy could be likely to be a bully, because he's past Legend 60, but I believe he isn't a bully:

yeah, like i said in my other reply, topic is titled "likely" to be bullies. Not all of them are

anyone with twins-mammoth in a parkour battle is most likely a jerk imo.

yeah, i use twins mammoth in parkour a lot, but because i like to help other players with parkour, like shooting them onto buildings and such

and then if i see someone else being a jerk, i go rek them XD

Again, I wasn't accusing any single person of being a bully. That wasn't the purpose of this topic, it's shedding a bit of light on a phenomenon which I've seen many times.

Pretty much what BuddyIV has said. Any bully you encounter is more likely to be a high GS player.

Some times I've been into skirmishes myself, against lower ranked players, but I never took it too far. I never degraded them.

Believe it or not, one of the reasons I got Twins m3 on my higher ranked account, other than its strength, was to join parkour maps and be the *first* Twins/Mammoth player to not pick on other players, because I presumed all were bullies. Of course that was about a year ago and I've learned a lot since then.
