"My Flag" -complainers

One day someone was asking for his flag and was trying to take it from me by all means.

So I decided to give him the flag. I drove all the way where I picked up the flag and drop it there.

It was meters away from the enemy's flag base, so the enemy quickly returned it. I told him to go get his flag.

I know it wasn't rational to do that but was satisfying. It costed me a lot to bring that flag to my team's base and I didn't want to give him the satisfaction.

I did the same thing in my early days of Tanki in Brest. None of my team tried for the flag, but the other team had made several attempts. I went in by myself and grabbed the flag under heavy fire. I jumped down into the valley to grab a RK, but there wasn't one, I used one of my own. By the time I got back to our base, I only had a thread of health left. A Mammoth was sitting on our flag. He wouldn't move so I could cap. I know he saw me because he followed me with his turret as I surrounded him, trying to find some way of capping.

I thought to myself, "Okay, you won't let me cap? Then you don't want it very badly." I went out of the building, into the ditch and carried it back to enemy base. They killed me and returned the flag. I logged out of the battle and watched the score from the lobby (before MM). That would have been their only cap. I knew, by the way the scores were stacking, my team was being spawn killed. No, it wasn't because they were short a player. Someone with a higher rank took my place within  a few seconds.

I think we were tied or losing, so it was not rational. Rational would have been to keep the flag or give it to him and go try returning our flag.

Winning is more important and it was just a flag, but at the same time this is just a game, so...

I don't mean you, but I don't like when players are saving the flag to give it back to someone else or to just give to someelse for whatever reason when my team is tied or losing. I'm like: cap you noob!

Again, I don't mean you.

Again, this was in my early days of Tanki. Back then, it wasn't unusual for someone to save the flag for the one who stole it. We had team spirit, we played as a team. Battles were 30 minutes long, not 7. Everyone spoke English so it was easy to make battle plans. I told him where I was and he was coming up the ramp, but he died. It was a courtesy that was done often.

So, don't throw me under the bus for playing in a fashion that was common play.

Nowadays, there is no team spirit....there's no teams, just individuals who play on a team. Very rarely do you see a team play as a team, but when it does happen, it's beautiful regardless of which team it is.

It's one battle within an internet game.  If the other players on your team noticed, any with integrity should not hold it against you.

It was worth it to educate the noob.  May not stick - but sometimes ya gotta try...

Not trowing you under the bus, we just have a different view on this.

But when your team is tied or losing, capping as soon as possible is playing for the team. I have seen many times flag savers get killed and enemies returning their flags, or enemies stealing our flags and thus complicating the situation.

Now with ODs and a bunch of one-shot turrets, I think capping as soon as possible is a must, unlike before ODs.

When the team is winning I think it's okay to save the flag for someone else.

My message to the flag owners is: If you want to cap the flag, don't lose it, don't get killed.

I'm not sure about educating others by teaching them a lesson.

I agree with you as game play is now. Seven minutes is hardly enough time for a battle to get interesting.

I'll be quiet about the way it used to be. Used to be a man who opened doors for women and helped her push her chair under the table was called a Gentleman. It was done out of courtesy and respect for womanhood. Now, nobody gives a care. Like Tanki, it used to be, but now no one gives a care.
