Scientific studies have been done to determine what qualities people have in common that would indicate if they are a genius or have the tendencies towards being a genius. These are their findings:

 

10...You realize how much you don't know. For instance: You may be good at writing music, terrible in math. You know the difference between 3/4 time and 4/4 time, but you don't know how to figure 3/4 of a given number and will admit to that. If someone asks you a question you don't know the answer to, you could say, "I don't know" and let it go at that (the person who falls short of having genius qualities) or you could say, "I don't know, exactly, but I have an idea of how it works" then research it. The one with the genius qualities will research the answer to gain further knowledge.

 

9...You wear the same clothes every day. This doesn't mean you wear dirty clothes everyday, but stay with the same colors and style. The genius has more important things to think about than fashion. 

 

8...You can feel what others are feeling. This is called "empathy." You can feel when someone is sad, depressed, not feeling well regardless of what they say. You feel their joy, happyness, elations and can share in their well-being. One who lacks empathy is unable to feel the emotions of others and will not respond to those emotions. 

 

7...You can perfectly control yourself. This goes more into controlling your impulses. We see this in Tanki nearly everyday. Two people want the same M2 kit and will be available as soon as they rank up. They both know that the kit will be on sale (maybe 50% off) in a few months. The impulse buyer will make the purchase as soon as they rank up or shortly thereafter. The one who is able to control their impulses will wait for the sale. 

 

6...Your eyes are blue. Yes, research has proven that to be a fact. People with blues eyes are more attuned to the details, the pros and cons, working up a design or working out....well.....the details. Sometimes they are thought of as procrastinators. Dark eyed people are more creative. They find a way around the details, coming up with a solution quicker. But, because they haven't worked out the details, the solution may not be long lasting. (Bandaids, anyone?)

 

5...Your a chocolate lover. Chocolate stimulates mental activity. However, if not kept in moderation, it may stimulate growth in other parts of the body. 

 

4...When your upset, you know what's bothering you. You come to work with a bad attitude, short tempered, every little thing upsets you even further. You want to put the blame on the driver who cut you off on the way to work, but you realize, in reality, it isn't the bad driver, but rather the argument you had with your spouse before coming to work. 

 

3...You talk to yourself. No, your not crazy, you are a genius. By talking to yourself, especially about important issues or trying to make complicated plans, you are blocking out all the other static that is going on in your brain and focusing on what counts. You can use this tactic to figure out behavioral and emotional problems by using yourself as a sounding board. 

 

2...You can't stand background noise. I'm not talking about the constant hammering from your neighbor having a new roof put on or the jack hammer down the street. That annoys most people. I'm talking about the background noise of people talking (someone has the TV on in the living room while you're trying to concentrate in the den). Or your neighbor is mowing his lawn (how big is that lawn anyway?) and the constant droning is disturbing your concentration. You find these noises distracting. Known geniuses have gone as far as soundproofing their workroom. 

 

1...Your handwriting is messy. It doesn't matter if it's a casual letter or a groundbreaking idea your trying to get on paper before it disappears into oblivion. In both cases, the reason is the same. Your mind is going at a fast pace and your hand is trying to keep up. 

 

So, do you belong in the Mega Society of High IQ's? Or are you the average person picked out of the crowd of average people? 

 

How to score? I'd say, if you can put yourself in all 10 categories, then you belong in the Mega Society. If you score 5, you're the average genius. You only scored 1? Well, at least you're on the leaderboard. 

 

DISCLAIMER: Because these tests were lab studies done under controlled conditions, some Scientists believe they still don't show the true nature of a genius.

I forgot to rate myself. I got 7/10. I lack 9, 7 and 2

 

9...I used to be strictly tee shirts and blue jeans. But because of the braces I have to wear, now, I can't wear blue jeans anymore. Now, I live in lounging pants (or pj bottoms) and very loose tee shirts. Now, I'm leaning more towards plaids and bright colors. It's a new style for me, so I didn't count it.

 

7...I used to be able to control my impulses very well. I still do, to an extent. But as I've gotten older with no one to answer to, but myself, I'm leaning more towards, "Why deprive myself when I don't have to." 

 

2...I still don't like the background noises, but over the years I've learned to ignore them. I don't hear the lawn mowers any more, the barking dogs in the neighborhood or the neighbor's pool party (no, I'm not invited). It's not that I'm deaf or hard of hearing, I mentally block them out.

Where did you pull this info off of? I find it odd that someone's eye colour affects their ability to be a 'genius'. If we go by that then why not even make skin as a criteria? You know, that's how the racism in today's world work.

 

Even if the study isn't racist or anything, still there is a big possibility that most of their samples had blue eyes and that's why they found a correlation between eye colour and intelligence. If that is the case, then its so wrong. You can't find a correlation between eye colour and intelligence if your sample size is composed of mostly one colour with little diversity.

 

 

Here in India we are taught UK English that's why I use "colour" instead of "color"

As a side note: If you study the differences between Americans and British, you'll find some very interesting facts about why some things are done and why the spelling of words are different. It had its start when the Colonies won their independence from British rule. To show their independence, they came up with innovative ways of living differently, speaking differently and spelling words differently. The Spanish and French had a very strong influence in fashion and architecture. That's why Americans drink coffee and British drink tea. 

 

Of course, it's not quite that straightforward and it didn't happen in a short span of time. There's a lot of history hidden in between these lines. The path of evolution has many obstacles to overcome. With every action there's a reaction that results in consequences.

I paraphrased a lot of it, because they were going into a lot of intricate detail about brain functioning. Basically, what it all boils down to, is not everyone's brain is wired the same way. As someone pointed out, some of it could be coincidence.

Well seemingly every point except 6 stands true for me. Well In a way!

But practically every genius is unique. Say for instance me, I usually predict all the possibilities of an event. Say some pal of mine tries to flirt with a girl, I predict all the reactions of girl and enjoy considering myself as audience and them as the main characters in a movie. Well that's only one of what I am capable of so the truth is-
