Tankers!

Today, we have launched a public release of the new HTML5 version (as announced recently in the V-LOG) to a small cohort of players.

For the next few weeks, a percentage of new accounts will get the new web version by default. However, if you use Google Chrome v76, you also may be chosen to test the new version.

Don’t worry about changes in the new version. It is the same Tanki Online, but much prettier!

ATTENTION: This is not a full release. Yes, you can play with this version, but please remember that it is still in development. You may experience some minor glitches or gameplay bugs, and some functions that are available in classic Flash version may also be missing from the new HTML5 version. But these issues will be fixed shortly, and the HTML5 version will soon become the default for all tankers.

IMPORTANT

The new version works only on Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Yandex, Opera). Your PC should also support WebGL2. You can check it here.

Here are some important changes that you might enjoy:

  • A completely redesigned, modern interface.
  • Added a radar to the battle interface. It is positioned to the right of your supplies bar.
  • Creating and joining PRO battles does NOT require a PRO Pass anymore.
  • A window showing a list of all possible rewards from a container.

The only official link to the new HTML5 version is: https://tankionline.com/play/ (DO NOT TRUST ANY OTHER LINK)

Make sure you follow our forums and social media to see what your fellow tankers are saying about the new version. And if you’re one of the lucky tankers playing it, share your feedback!

Wow. Fantastic. I am so happy that the new HTML5 version is making its way in Tanki Online.

I am using the downloading Tanki Online client. Can I use the game client to test the new HTML5 version?

The new HTML5 version looks pretty. However, the are some common problems with how battles work.

Questions:

1. How do I know if my team is winning in team battles?

2. When can I tell if a supply box is ready to use.

3. Some garage features are missing and in the wrong place.

I have played a few battles with the new HTML5 version. The graphics looks kind of strange. CP points do not capture in the rotary motion as it does with Flash. CP points are too small.

The steering of tanks are not as flexible as with the Flash version. I prefer the steering and handling with the Flash version. The HTML5 version makes steering kind of stiff.

Also, the camera shakes and wobbles in a strange way with the HTML5 version. I find it annoying. How can I change the way the camera works in HTML5? Can I revert the camera to rotate in the same way as with the Flash version.

The new HTML5 version makes me very dizzy and gives me headaches. The way the graphics motion moves onscreen with the strange camera wobble makes me very dizzy and gives me headaches. Please do something about that. I cannot play Tanki Online with an interface which gives me headaches.

OK. Leur. I used the link already.

For people that do not like the new HTML5 interface, will the Flash version always remain?

Do players get a promo code or other rewards for testing the new HTML5 interface?

I've tried it out, looks cool, works cool...just the camera movement sensitivity that hurts my eyes while playing the game  and I'm sure the battle interface will be improved as it seems quite pixelated to me, including the graphics...

it cant be as bad as TankiX that sucks

Tanki X went down hill when they changed game / battle play. over all if they had left it the way it first came out it would have survived .

1- You can find the battle score at the top of the screen

2- You will find a timer on your used supplies and once it ready to use it will pop up like this

Regarding the UI in the new version, and the possibility of keeping the old Flash version UI for those who don't like the new one, I'm afraid it's highly unlikely.

The reason we've created this new UI is because it allows us to add more functionality in the future. We needed a UI that was less cluttered and allows for expansion.

But don't worry. With this new HTML5 version, development is considerably faster, so we can be much more responsive to your feedback. If there's something you don't like, please tell us and we'll see whether it's something we can sort out.

will there be an HTML5 Downloadable Client Version?

Yes, there are plans for a downloadable version, but we don't have any specifics yet.

The supplies does not show their activated normal colors like in the Flash version.

The interface is good but it looks to bland when in a battle. The buttons, overdrives and supplies does not have proper indication colors.

Please report everything to the developers.

There is still a long road ahead before the new HTML5 version is finished and finalized.
