HTML5 limited public release

The supplies does not show their activated normal colors like in the Flash version.

The interface is good but it looks to bland when in a battle. The buttons, overdrives and supplies does not have proper indication colors.

Please report everything to the developers.

There is still a long road ahead before the new HTML5 version is finished and finalized.

We're collecting all of the feedback and will pass it on to the programmers. As I said, we still need to polish up some things, and the game (including the UI) will continue to improve at an even faster rate now.

What about Firefox? it's second only to Chrome in Browser Market Share, and by making the game Chrome-only you excluding thousands of players.

Also will there be downloadable client like the flash one?

I hate chrome.

@registration999 and Hall_Of_Famer

Marcus did mention that the limited public release only works on Chromium based browsers.  Also, I can confirm that Firefox 69.0 does support WebGL 2.0.

IMPORTANT

The new version works only on Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Yandex, Opera). Your PC should also support WebGL2. You can check it here.

With that said, I was still able to play Tanki HTML5 on Firefox by typing "tankionline.com/html5" and getting redirected to the login page for Tanki HTML5.

OK. Thanks.

That's great. Keep on improving the interface and camera mode. I will report feedback as soon as there something that I am not pleased with.

Question:

By the way, does players earn any awards or promo codes for participating using the test version of the new HTML5?

Actually , i love the new interface , its now cooler with HTML5 , i've already got bored from the old one..

BUT....

there is a problem...

Basically, when using double damage , or any of the other supplies , i am obligated to use the number 3 above W,A,S,D and not the Number 3 next to the arrow keys and the enter key on the keyboard.

PLUS , i Can't change the controls like it was in Flash which is not comfortable when playing such formats like Matchmaking.

I hope that the final finished version of the new HTML5 would work in the same way as the Flash version. That is only by means of the camera mode. Removing the wobbling camera mode and the hard steering would make gameplay perfect. Hulls would become much more maneuverable like with the Flash version.

The gameplay motion is definitely not the same, but really it's not even that bad. For those who don't feel at home with the gameplay experience in HTML5 I'd suggest play a few matches and you'll find it isn't all that bad. Just requires a bit of getting used to, which we're a bit familiar with. Once you get used to it it is pretty amazing - a long awaited update of upgrading(updating) the game engine. The potential it has is enormous as already seen with the interface update.

tanki is dying

Man , tanki is making plans and know how to control this and it knows the real reason behind its death.. and we already know that

Stop saying " tanki is dying " because the whole game now knows that.

The new HTML5 version looks pretty. However, the are some common problems with how battles work.

I have played a few battles with the new HTML5 version. The graphics looks kind of strange. CP points do not capture in the rotary motion as it does with Flash. CP points are too small.

The steering of tanks are not as flexible as with the Flash version. I prefer the steering and handling with the Flash version. The HTML5 version makes steering kind of stiff.

Also, the camera shakes and wobbles in a strange way with the HTML5 version. I find it annoying. How can I change the way the camera works in HTML5? Can I revert the camera to rotate in the same way as with the Flash version.

The new HTML5 version makes me very dizzy and gives me headaches. The way the graphics motion moves onscreen with the strange camera wobble makes me very dizzy and gives me headaches. Please do something about that. I cannot play Tanki Online with an interface which gives me headaches.

Sounds a lot like what TX had for tank movement and camera angles.  Tanks were bouncy and Camera too close to the tank.

I hope it's actually not that close to TX because I found that terrible - was horrible to play in.

Let's also hope that turrets like shaft or railgun don't rotate too fast like they do in TX.
