Hello folks, and welcome back to another news issue of the Tanki Weather & News Channel. This is @pythor20000 reporting to you live from the studio. Today I will be covering a weather update concerning the devastating Hurricane Nives.

According to our hurricane metrics, this storm made landfall near Kolhoz the night of September 10th, initially as a category 3 hurricane. However, only a couple hours later, it quickly escalated into a deadly cat 5, bringing a record breaking 70 inches of rain to downtown Silvertosk, the capital of Kolhoz. Luckily, over 80 percent of Kolhozian citizens had evacuated the week before thanks to PR’s storm warnings. Sadly, there were some stubborn groups of civilians who refused to leave their beloved homes. One long time citizen of Silvertosk, @Kevin, when interviewed before the storm hit, proclaimed quote “I will go down with my ship. I’ve been through many a year in my yonder abode, and by god I’ll go through many more.” Brave words coming from a Shaft-Wasp dwelling in the direct path of the hurricane. Currently his whereabouts are unknown, joining the upward of 50 plus tankers who have been reported missing. As of now, 85 civilians have been reportedly killed, with dozens more in hospitals and thousands homeless. A whopping three thousand buildings in Silvertosk have been utterly demolished, either blown to bits by the forty mile per hour winds, or completely flooded. These numbers make Hurricane Nives the most destructive storm to ever make landfall on the shores of Kolhoz county.

The destruction did not end there however. As September 11th progressed, the storm’s eyewall passed on through the outskirts of Silvertosk before veering west, skirting the southern border of Koholz. Numerous barns throughout the country plains containing development plans were uprooted. Silos of supplies, including repair kits and speed boosts were destroyed, the remains strewn across the wasteland. As night approached, the storm had weakened back in a cat 3 when it crossed the border into the northern parts of neighboring county Sandbox. At one point, it looked as if the hurricane was headed straight towards the county’s central city, with a population of twenty thousand. Luckily for the tankers there, the storm further weakened before reaching the city, only dumping a foot of rain into the suburbs. Then it demoted to Tropical Storm Nives, the front continued to drift south and, before long, left the shores of Sandbox behind and moved off over the ocean. We at the TWNC are still currently keeping an eye on the storm as there is a slight possibility it will veer back over land farther down the coast. The tentative final death toll for this storm is right around one hundred, reporter @MRayquaza states. Definitely a contender for the record books.

A notable side effect of this storm system is the uncovering of a series of previously uncharted small islands which many people are now referring to as the Archipelago. It seems that the large waves disturbed a long silent underwater volcano which consequently erupted, causing the surrounding isles to emerge from the watery deeps. An archeologist team was deployed to the small central island of the group, where they uncovered the ruins of an unfortunate tank buried in the sands. The remains of this tank still currently lie where it was found, as various museums within the Tankiverse take the matter to court to settle the question of the final resting place of these bones. For now though, the islands are still open to tourists.

You’ve been listening to a live update of Hurricane Nives brought to you by the faithful squad of the TWNC. Again, we will continue to monitor this storm, making sure you all know what’s going on. Thank you for tuning in to today’s broadcast, and we’ll see you next time on Tanki’s very own Weather & News Channel at 6:00.

Edits:

Very minor spelling edits.

Approved.

This is quickly shaping up to be my favourite AWS series of this year. Tons of imagination when it comes to Tanki maps, innovative stories, and even sponsors? How does this not get more views? In all seriousness, though, this is top-tier writing when it comes to both content and creativity. Great job!

Very well written. Honestly, I smiled a bit at some details throughout the report, specifically the tanker with Shaft & Wasp who was in the direct path of the Hurricane. I love the way you incorporated a Tanki theme into this. Great Work, hope to read more. :D

Nice work!

(Fun fact: there is a kid who calls themselves Mr. Swedish Fish that makes me very annoyed.  I hate this kid so yeah the lil subscript at the bottom.)

Can't wait for the next issue!
