Advice on improving my K/D?

At the moment, my overall K/D rests at a mediocre 0.66, (mind you, I don't play like a total нуб xd). I get that it takes more time to increase it at this rank, but it's slightly been going up, as it was at 0.63 when I bought Hunter M2, back in late August (at the time, I played Firebird/Wasp).

Here's a little bit of insight on a smaller scale. I recently started keeping a spreadsheet where I log my ratings profile and any changes that happen during the week. From last Sunday to Today I've played 4 hours. During these few days, my K/D has been 0.72 and my Supplies/Hour ratio has been 89.25. I don't want to waste my drugs (sometimes I feel like I overuse RKs and am paranoid I'll eventually I run out), but I feel like I use supplies enough.

Miscellaneous info:

- I play at an even amount between the PC and Mobile version. Should I start playing more often on PC?

- I'm buying the Cyclops Kit (Shaft M2/Mammoth M2) when it comes in the Garage. Camping might make my K/D and overall success increase at least by a little.

I was in the same boat when I was Major since I destroyed my K/D during WO ranks, I think it was 0.68 or thereabouts. The main thing I did was camp a lot with Railgun and make K/D my biggest personal focus. It took me until around Marshall before I got to my target of 1.0.

There isnt really any one piece of advice, just focus on your K/D stats in battles and make your garage as strong as possible. You should also stock up on as much supplies as you can during 50% sales. I focused my budget solely on supplies for a few ranks and stuck with one M4 combo, Vik/Rail.

5k of each supply is a good target. It's tempting to buy new equipment but as long as you have one solid combo, supplies are more important if you want to stand a chance. I would spent my entire 700k crystals on supplies during some 50% sales.

Worth saying for me this was a couple of years ago, now things are very different and Rail is one of the worst turrets as there are so many protections against it.

In my opinion, the best way is playing with Railgun & Hornet. You can camp & shoot at enemies at far and it'll help increasing your K/D ratio. Avoid playing with close range turrets as much as possible and stick to long range ones like Railgun & Gauss. Thunder is good too  :)

Like everyone's been saying, just find a camping spot and camp there.

Also have another account which you don't care about its KD and use it as a Guinea pig, kill that account 25 times in a parkour tem battle, and you're KD will slowly rise. (Small maps are recommended for fast kills)

And if you get caught, tell them that you're preparing you're account for the lowest KD in TO world records.

- Drug

- Use upgraded drones

- Camp

- Don't carry the flag

- Don't carry the ball

- always understood PC controls were better than mobile so it stands to reason you will do better

- Drug more

I don't know why you guys focus on numbers so much. If you need to camp to achieve a good KD, you are not a good player. In any mode that is not TDM you are just a weight to the team who is not playing the objective in order to improve a useless number that actually is making you a worse player.

I'd rather have a good flagger/flanker in my team who helps winning by using clever tactics, even if it means dying often, then someone far in the back playing TDM for his personal "benefit".

And then we blame MM.

"You guys"?   As in responders?    We were just answering the question.  I mean - look at my Profile & K/D.  Hardly that of a camper.

For the record there are good campers and bad campers.  A shaft that kills the flag carrier so it can be retrieved is a good team player.  While a Shaft that continually kills some random enemy that comes withing it's narrow foucs while enemy flag-stealers get away and cap is not really a good team player.

I improved my K/D from M2 to M4 ranks from around 1 to 1.33. It’s not really that important, it reflects more on what guns or play style you have. K/D improved when I was using smoky over isida but kills and xp went down. Also, drugging is almost a must for maintaining good kd. Are you upgrading modules? My survivability shot up after having 30% protections from guns that were killing me a lot.

My current modules are

• Fox (23%, currently MUing to 24%)

• Dolphin (27%)

• Falcon (23%, currently MUing to 24%)

As I said before, I want to get Cyclops kit. When I do, I'll replace the Dolphin Module with the Eagle one.

When I buy Supplies, I get the 100 Supplies kit from the Garage. I have a good amount of each supply (3000 RKs and over 6000 of everything else), though maybe I could have some extra Repair Kits since I use them like candy.

I definitely feel like I've bought too many M2s, some just because I've had a lot of Micro Upgrades on the M1 version (I don't even use/like Thunder anymore, too many Grizzly Modules).

The Cyclops kit will be my final M2s.

When I use Railgun, it's with Hornet because the Overdrive really helps. Edited by GrayWolf8733

- Agree

- I have 1.4k batteries, I haven't decided on what drone to stick with, and I only have like 1 or 2 MUs on the ones that I own.

- As I've said in the original post, I'm buying the Shaft/Mammoth kit.

- MM CTF is too much of a drugfest for me to even take the flag :P As for ASL, I have more success in it

- Rugby is okay when I have a Hunter Overdrive ready

- Don't like mobile's controls either, I feel less in control of my tank and turning the turret is weird.

You're in a pretty good spot already then, I prefer to wait for 50% sales than buying the kit so I can avoid paying for Speed and Mines and using those crystals on extra repair kits, it makes a big difference.

For me drones dont make sense unless you've got a ton of crystals to spare, they're just too expensive to MU and run.

With the supplies you list, you should not need to buy any supply kits.  Save those crystals for MUs and modules.

continuing with 2 combos (one long, one short) would be very useful - allows you to customize for different maps.  Shaft not so hot in maps like Sandal unless you buy the RFM alteration.

As a camper you are probably going to want to get modules for Magnum and Gauss as well.  You have time - but you definitely want to pick them up before m3 unlocks as it gets carzy expensive to acquire them after that.  Plus you get economies-of-scale when you updgrade a lot of iems (once) during each sale

I don't even buy the Supply Kit that often. I've bought it a few times, but most of my supplies come from saving and Containers.

I tried RFM on the test server, and it's pretty good. It's pricey so I'm going to buy it on sale.

I have Gauss protection, it's 20% right now. I don't really use it though.

Honest answer: K/D means nothing and it doesn't reflect your skills by any means. Most of the K/D freaks I've seen are the Magnums users who play Noise CTF (obviously in Red team). Next time you play Noise, observe closely that almost all of the battle creators are magnums and they always chose red team and they're very sensitive about their K/D and have some Isida friends (Source: been there, healed them).

Second, there are people whom I call "playing but not really playing", no matter what is the mode they find a camping spot and only picking the weak ones and stealing their teammates' kills (Imagine when your team is losing RGB or CTF just because of these guys). What is the point of playing like this?

Third, there are massive buyers. I never liked Solo JGR mode because you can find them often in this mode. For example, last time I've played that mode the top guy at WO4 rank had M3 Railgun (max MUed)  and Viking M2 (max MUed)  and he never used anything apart from this combo but he had purchased other kits just to use the max protection against Freeze, Striker and Thunder. And his k/d was nearly 10.0 indeed, he was very skilled at buying.

Personally, I play to enjoy the game not to care about a virtual figure. If you see my profile, mostly I've played XP/BP battles, my overall k/d is nearly 1.33 but I can safely say my k/d with only Gauss is b/w 2.5 to 3. I also play wasp/hornet+isida with clanmates/friends where I get very low k/d but it doesn't matter as long as I enjoy the battle.

It is up to you if you want to be one of these guys but maintaining above 1 k/d is more than enough to me.

Nope, I was just talking in general, towards the players that think their KD is super important.

Sorry if it sounded otherwise.

Considering I likely won't hit the 1.0 mark again, I shouldn't be giving any advice.  :D

But I can tell you how to avoid getting a bad K/D in the first place:

-- Don't use light hulls in matchmaking battles, especially with turrets like Railgun. (I had a lot of trouble with this before)

-- Avoid self-destructing too much in parkour battles. (space parkour is very detrimental to my K/D, because it's addicting)

LOL I am a buyer who have 3 M4 equipments. But my K/D is near to 1.0, not 10.0.... Yeah, I relied on Solo Juggernaut back in the old days for my K/D farming.

My current modules are

• Fox (23%, currently MUing to 24%)

• Dolphin (27%)

• Falcon (23%, currently MUing to 24%)

As I said before, I want to get Cyclops kit. When I do, I'll replace the Dolphin Module with the Eagle one.

My signature modules:

Eagle (50%)

Spider (27%)

That's all I use!

Grizzly modules, Grizzly modules everywhere!

My biggest advice on this will also help you improve as a player and it has to do with how you use supplies. I play a lot of lights, so if I want to do decently in battle I need to take every advantage I can, and one I consistently find is in my use of supplies. I see a lot of players pop DD or SB when they spawn in. I love to see this as I tend to hit them with full drugs and can wipe them out quickly.

When you spawn, your default should be to use armor. This will protect you from being instantly killed by a stray railgun or striker shot while also keep you from getting spawn killed quickly. Tanki gives out so many free supplies that you should be able to almost always activate armor.

Then as you approach the enemy, use speed boost. If you time it right or pause for a moment, you should arrive in enemy territory right when you damage becomes available. Thus, you should be consistently battling with full drugs activated. That alone will give you a lot of good k/d games without camping and effectively multing

Hornet-Rail with OD active says hello!     They are active everywhere, and there is no defense against them.

And use your Eagle Falcon Grizzly!

Nah.   Now my default is Eagle/Falcon/Owl.   At long ranges Gauss is more deadly.
