Is there a specific reason behind this request?
As tanki has no way to check your real name you could call yourself with any name, which basically make it like you have 2 nicknames instead of one. Knowing the country where you live has no impact on the game, so what is the benefit? I can also select any country I want.

As tanki has no way to check your real name you could call yourself with any name, which basically make it like you have 2 nicknames instead of one. Knowing the country where you live has no impact on the game, so what is the benefit? I can also select any country I want.

There is a lot of wicked folks on the net, providing them with these information is not a good idea.

I really dislike this paranoia surrounding revealing your real name and approximate location online. No one will be able to hunt you down or do anything remotely harmful based on first name and country (or even city). Hiding your full name, ID numbers and exact location - sure, but simply adding name and country to your forum profile is a perfectly fine thing to do. People put their whole lives on sites like Facebook and LinkedIn, and those are also basic social networks, just with a bit more security.

Facebook and Linkedin are for old people, they are responsible and adult. It is true that you can find many interesting info on these network, for example you can learn that Nives is a Support Engineer at Netwrix. (still dabbibg like a pro).

My concerns were for the kids.

As mentioned above, this feature is pointless. In my honest opinion there are many better features that could be added to the forum than this.
