I see that we can track how the 3 different groups are collecting stars, but what about our individual star total for this event?  If it turns out that my legion is winning, and I were clost to 1000 stars at the end I might grind harder if I knew I only needed ....

So you can't even buy the paint with crystals... seems that the devs are  going fully pay to win.  "BuT WeEKLy cONtAINerS!1!1" Honey, I'm not gonna grind for a week to get 6 tankcoins just to PARTICIPATE in some crappy grindfest.

You'll need to earn them again - stars for the «Evil War» only started counting from today. (October 25th)

You will have to keep track of them yourself, by noting how many stars you had in the beginning.

As lame as this "war" is with only a 33% chance of winning ANYTHING, it is destroying gameplay.  for some strange reason,  I think there are many participants...possibly due to the shorter duration of this "war" and the misconception that if you get X amount of stars you will get a reward (oops gotta read the fine print).

 

Anyway gameplay has been trashed for two days now.  The worst problem is that half the team doesn't finish the battle in many cases...even if your team is winning, they bail because they arent going to get enough stars.  The other problem (arguably not a problem) is that players have become like rabid dogs...very very aggressive.  It's much harder to generate stars in this murderous environment over the last two days.  The sad part is I truly believe that most of the "war" participants think they are going to get a payday for their efforts and don't realize that 66% of the partcipants will get NOTHING!!!

Seems to me the legions are horribly unbalanced. Ghosts are winning by a margin of almost 50k stars, and are beating Undead by over 80k.

I am pretty sure that players bought it on 2 accounts (or more) and then now play up to 200 stars on the one that seems to win.

For myself I did that and played until I got the Zombie paint (from October's Challenge) on two account and now focus on the account with Ghost paint.

Yeah but those were all over the time span of a month. For this Halloween war its only been a few days and the star difference is incredible.

I should have specified that it was over 4 weeks. Also the stars rewards have evolved too. It looks like the leading faction is always way ahead, and the 2 others quite close.

Whatever contest or war you come up with, players will always find bias to take advantage of. You are dealing with young humans and simple system. With more money and development you would probably make the contest better, but...

I know. Good observation, it looks like the divergence is bigger on this war. Maybe players have learnt. Anyway best is to wait the end of the war. Once player reached 200 stars they might stop, other faction might catch up then.

At time of writing, current challenge ends in 2d 21h. (Server reset on the 31 October, before 1 November.)

 

Evil War clock says 6d 6hr. That seems to add to 3 November, not 1 November.

 

What's it all mean?

 

And, battle pass, given the challenge ends before the war, is it still good for war?

The celebrations end on November 4th (my birthday), but I think that it ends on the 1st November. (This same thing happened, with the Tank War as well)
