Adding non-ranked battles

Recommended Posts

What if TO would have two kind of MM systems:
One where you can play ranked and one which is non-ranked?
To start with the last:

Non-ranked:
A MM system that puts you in a battle that is not using rank-brackets and where everyone can play against each other. There will be only one type of garage and everyone can choose from this. For instance a full M0 garage without drones, modules and limited paints. Everytime you enter a non-ranked battle will put you back at 0 so to speak.

Ranked:
Is similar as the current MM with your own custom garage and equipment.

I think playing in non-ranked battles, with equalled gear, will encourage gameplay in a more leisurely way.
Maybe the rewards do not have to be so big as in ranked play as well.
It is all about starting from 0 every time. The more skilled you are, the more fun it will be.

Playing ranked (like it is now in TO) will have its own incentives to play: The stakes and/or rewards are higher and you can collect your own preferred setup and additional features like drones/modules, creating maps and battles.

I think with adding a non-ranked MM system you can create a gaming environment that surpasses the addictive loop system, avoids being fed up with the game because of too much grinding and having a seperate fun way for F2P tankers.
And if you do have the time-investing urge to grow and build your own career and so on: play ranked.

I do hope I've made my point clear :)
It is a rather big thing to implement.

Good idea, but you have to be aware that, if implemented, such battles will either have an entry fee (or pass), or they won't give any rewards.

Completed

Marking this completed, because these days every other week we have a special Matchmaking game mode where everyone uses the same equipment with the same modification, regardless of rank and existing garage.
