Tanki Youtubers and Their Numerous Faults

 Share

Recommended Posts

No @Maf, it's not time to close another topic, regardless of a cheesy title.

I'm just wondering how important Tanki Youtubers are. For instance, that Fortnite bloke that just got banned was a pretty eminent guy (I have no idea what his name was, search it up yourself). Yet, Fortnite banned him for breaking the game rules. Would Tanki also do this? For instance, if Mr Thunder broke the rules of the game would all his accounts be banned? It's a question that I think is worth considering, because I can give you an example of both that and a multitude of other youtubers (many of whom got the 999 Millions crystal accounts) breaking game rules.

Is Tanki really prepared to enforce them on that level?

I guess the question is how important are rules for rule's sake. If a guy gives a funny vid of a hack he found...idk if thats malicious or intended to hard, which would seem to be the reason for the rules...but then again, TO does ban ppl for letting more than one person use an account, so idk what their stance would be

I think it depends. If they're using it for educational purposes or for show and tell, then I see no problem with that. But if they're using it for an advantage against other players for their own personal gain, then that's a problem.

Of course but I'd be surprised if anyone has done that. I still have yet to see any "Cheater" in tanki at all in two years, so I'd be amazed if someone did it on video

EPICmoh uploaded a video of Tanki cheaters, but I couldn't be bothered to find the link :D

The main problem to be honest is giving away accounts (with smaller youtubers). However, someone uploaded a video of two of Mr. Thunder's accounts in one XP/BP battle, one of which was Mr.Thunder and the other of which @Also was being played on by the guy who uploaded it.

Has anyone else seen Youtubers breaking rules?

I guess Tanki just ignores stuff like that?

I'm not sure, but I thought replacing in-game textures was prohibited in the game until one Youtuber showcased a texture pack he made and it even made it into the VLOG

It used to be prohibited but isn't anymore.

So thats what ppl want to report? Using different textures and letting a friend play on your account for the day? Why would anyone want to report something like that? Seems bad man

EN YouTubers are pretty innocuous. Of course, there's the usual clickbait and unoriginal videos (seems like each YouTuber has done a dozen You Laugh You Lose videos, and twice as many videos of challenges (both types: tasks that the viewers give them, and the actual monthly Challenge).

There was that one time MrThunder was banned from YouTuber TO for 2 months on the suspicion of viewbotting and got upset for his ban. This was 4 months ago, so if you scroll enough on his channels Community tab it'll be there.

As for RU YouTubers, I actually found a post on the RU Forum that's basically similar to this one. I got the general gist with Google Translate, but it's good to see it for yourself. https://ru.tankiforum.com/topic/229631/

I don't particularly care... I was more wondering what TOs stance is (or what we think TOs stance is) - are they going to ban a big youtuber for a petty reason, or are the youtubers too important to them?

Ah so less about reporting ppl. My misreading.

Do wr have you tubers as popular as fortnite ones? The only vids I tend to see are goldbox montages and road to legend montages, which dont seem to compare to what Ive seen from other games youtubers.

Nope, they won't.

EPICmoh even showed himself using hacks (with an alt account) during a stream. I think his main account got a week ban for using custom textures.

Also Tanki youtoubers a big source of $$$ for devs, so they'd be fairly lenient with applying the rules to youtoubers.

Is there a way to edit terrain textures? That would be interesting to play around with...could make cartoony textures or more realistic ones

I have no idea how any of it works.

Omgosh guys...the "hack" is literally him just playing a video backwards...takes like zero thought to see that. Do we have any REAL evidence of cheaters?

I never actually watched it, having been given the link by someone else.

Probably should have :D

You have to go into the cache, find the exact file and replace it with yours. I did it once to make my own Gold texture. (which I sadly deleted a long time ago)

Is this on the client? I mean, on webpages it's easy enough to change visual stuff (not presented by the server, so this doesn't include gold box textures etc.), but is the file replaced like an image link or something? I guess all this changes with HTML5 though.

Yes, this texture stuff only works easily on client cache files since they are not as difficult to access as browser cache files usually are. Maybe there is a browser method that I am unaware of.

I think Client uses Internet Explorer's cache.

I think Client uses Internet Explorer's cache.

Actually it has it's own cache in AppData.

Standalone Flash uses IE's cache, which actually is a PC based cache which IE and Standalone happen to use.
