Tankers!

❄️ The WAR - Stolen Christmas is in full swing and the special site is online!

REMEMBER

  • To participate in the WAR, you MUST log into the website with your Tanki account username and password. Here’s the link.
  • If you do not log into the WAR website, your Stars WILL NOT be counted
  • Before you jump into the WAR, make sure you familiarize yourself with the details of the WAR on the official announcement.

Now, get ready to make (or break) the festive season!

War progress:

You’ve been keeping yourselves busy on the battlefield, and it shows, because the situation on the War map has been changing rapidly.

Turn 13:

ZA0sRld.jpg

The war is nearing its finale, and things couldn't get any more heated! Elves are still in the lead, while Santas managed to climb their way back up to second place. But most importantly, for the first time in Tanki War events we have a conquered capital! Against all odds, Snowmen managed to capture Santas' Capital territory, thus gaining them a bonus 5 points. This doesn't actually mean anything for Santas and they are still very much in the game, although fighting to take back the capital would be a significant waste of resources, especially considering that Elves are a much greater threat.

Either way, with the territories being spread all across the map and each faction having at least 20 adjacent enemy regions available for attack, the winner could still be anyone, and we won't know until the end. The D-day is tomorrow.

Previous turns:

Spoiler

Turns 11 - 12:

JZgbVVK.jpg

Wow, nobody expected such a turn of events! Santas went from a secure first place with 83 points down to last place with 26 points in just three turns, completely getting crushed by Elves and Snowmen. The latter made a great comeback too, quadrupling their points over the last two days and climbing up to second place.

Elves may be in the lead right now, but let's not forget what happened to Santas and how quickly the situation can change. Elves have a fairly secure area in the west with a large number of 1-point territories safe from attack, but the centre is full of action, with over a dozen territories being contested by all three factions.

It's anyone's game at this point, and your actions now may very well be the difference between a loss or victory on December 25th. Good luck!

Spoiler

Turn 10:

W2lGfT8.jpg

Turn 10 is upon us, and it struck us with some very interesting twists. Right away it's clear that Snowmen aren't doing so well, with just 6 territories left in their possession. But on the bright side, this means they have less total territories to defend, therefore their defence force will be more concentrated and it's very unlikely they will lose any more areas. It could also mean that the other factions will treat them as a low threat for the time being, allowing them to capture nearby regions to get back into the game.

Meanwhile, Elves have carried out a successful strike against Santas, capturing nearly all possible regions in the previous turn. With four turns left, a victory for Elves is entirely possible, but it will take some serious effort to continue this advance. Santas may have been relaxed and comfortable with their massive lead, but it's unlikely that they will let Elves snatch the victory so easily.

Spoiler

Turn 9:

DiH2Awa.jpg

The battle of turn 9 is at its peak, and the situation is really starting to get interesting. Santas may have increased their lead since turn 8, but Elves started advancing into Santas' territory by capturing Red Alert, while Snowmen captured a whole three territories from Santas, although at the cost of losing some to Elves on the western front. As a result, Santas' previously organised front line is once again broken up into a zig-zag, with Stadium completely surrounded by Snowmen, and a lot more regions exposed to attack.

If that wasn't enough, Elves and Snowmen appear to be forming some sort of an alliance to focus their forces on pushing back Santas. If the current star totals don't change in Santas' favour, they are looking at a loss of 11 territories after this turn to both Snowmen and Elves, which could end up being the key turning point of this War. Check back tomorrow to see how the situation develops!

Spoiler

Turn 8:

8YkpErb.png

Santas are still maintaining a strong lead, now with over half of the whole map and all three 5-point middle territories under their control. Snowmen and Elves continue to defend their capitals at all costs, although it appears they are making a strong attempt at pushing back Santas, based on both Snowmen and Elves being in the lead in the fight for some of the edge regions.

Don't forget that we're just past the halfway point in the War, and there are still many more turns left ahead. With good decisions and smart strategy it's entirely possible to change the outcome in anyone's favour!

Spoiler

Turn 7:

gz92EC7.jpg

Santas are securing their lead, successfully defending every single region, capturing most of the enemy regions within their reach, and even taking back the two territories infiltrated by Snowmen, thus establishing a solid front line and now controlling over half of the map.

Snowmen and Elves have been concentrating their efforts on controlling and fighting over the middle high point areas, as well as advancing into each others' territory, resulting in an irregular mix of areas under control of either faction.

Their capitals are now exposed to Santas, so they must get their priorities in order and settle this dispute in order to tackle the dominating enemy together. This is possibly their last chance to take back the initiative!

Keep fighting, earning Stars, and making smart tactical decisions. And don’t forget to monitor the War map closely, because the situation can change anytime!

IMPORTANT: Bonuses from Battle Pass and/or Premium Pass are counted only if a player had the Pass at the moment they clicked the «Confirm» button on the war website.

Do you have any questions? Ask us on the forum and in social media. We will answer in the next announcement.

Expect some heated combat this weekend!

❄️  Paints

In order to participate in the War you need to buy the «Distributor» paint. Upon buying the «Distributor» you will be randomly assigned to one of factions — Snowmen, Santas or Elves. The «Distributor» will be available in the Shop until December 24th 02:00 UTC.

Keep in mind that in the Flash version of the game, the «Distributor» paint is at the bottom of the Shop, in Paints category.

❄️  Website

For the «WAR – Stolen Christmas» event, we’ll be launching a special website with the map on which the action will happen. On this website, you will be able to choose regions to attack and defend, follow the progress of the WAR, and track your own progress in the event.

For your convenience, will add a button in the game Lobby, which will take you directly to the War website (the button will only be available in the browser versions of the game).

ATTENTION: It takes up to 10 minutes to update information about faction votes on the website.

❄️  How to win

The collective goal for each faction, is to capture and defend as many regions of the map as possible. At the end of the WAR, the faction that has collected the most points for capturing regions, wins.

The «WAR» is played in a turn-based format, where each turn lasts 23 hours (from 7 UTC to 6 UTC of the next day). You will need to do two things — first, you’ll need to choose which regions on the WAR map you want to fight for.

You must pick two regions:

  • a region that you want to attack
  • a region that belongs to your faction, and that you want to defend against enemy forces.

After confirming your choice on the WAR website, you must go into matchmaking battles in Tanki Online and earn Stars by defeating other players.

Once again: the more stars you score per turn, the more prizes you will receive and the higher the chance of your faction to win.

❄️  Chat channels and forum clubs

And don’t forget that we have added special chat channels to the game for Snowmen, Santas and Elves, and special forum sections to allow you to discuss tactics and prepare your secret plans of attack.

Look for more details about the mechanics and rules of the War on the forum!

❄️  Previous war paint

When we had the WAR last year, we had told you that the winners paint would be removed with the arrival of the new WAR. Well, the new WAR is here… BUT, we’ve decided to let you keep last year’s paint as part of the legacy of the WAR in Tanki Online. Note that this only applies to last year’s WAR winners paint. From this year, the winners paint will be removed as explained in the original announcement.

F.A.Q.

1. How will defense system work? Will it be possible to defend a region which my faction is not  controlling yet?

Spoiler

For defense you can choose only a region which your faction is already controlling. During the first turn you will be able to defend only your faction capital.

2. If a player buys stars, are they counted as faction progress?

Spoiler

Yes, starts which are bought are also counted as faction progress as well as double stars received from Premium.

3. Is it true that the last turn will be shorter than others?

Spoiler

Yes, it's true. The last turn will end on December 25th at 02:00 UTC.

4. What are conditions of winning the war?

Spoiler

The collective goal for each faction, is to capture and defend as many regions of the map as possible. Regions will give different amounts of points. Peripheral regions will give 1 point, regions close to the center and bonus regions will give 3 points, and central regions and capitals will give 5 points.

At the end of the WAR, the faction that has collected the most points for capturing regions, wins.

5. The war will last for 2 weeks. If a player completes all requirements of receiving containers will the player get  9*14=126 containers?

Spoiler

If we count only containers received for an ordinary turn, the final amount will be 126 containers. As well you can also receive containers for capturing bonus regions (maximum of 9 containers per region) and you can also receive containers for winning the war (maximum of 15 containers).

6. Where can I buy the «Distributor» paint? I do not find it in the garage.

Spoiler

The «Distributor» paint is only sold in the Shop.

7. Will you remove the paint from winners of «War. Domination».

Spoiler

When we had the WAR last year, we had told you that the winners paint would be removed with the arrival of the new WAR. Well, the new WAR is here... BUT, we've decided to let you keep last year's paint as part of the legacy of the WAR in Tanki Online. Note that this only applies to last year's WAR winners paint. From this year, the winners paint will be removed as explained in the original announcement.

8. If a faction has lost all regions, does it mean that the faction is eliminated from the war?

Spoiler

Unfortunately, that's true. If a faction loses all its regions, the faction is eliminated from the war.

9. If I was earning stars but voted only in the evening, will the stars that I earned earlier today, count for the war?

Spoiler

Sure, nothing bad will happen if you vote later during this turn. Stars that were earned during this turn, starting from 07:00 UTC will be counted for this turn.

10. How are the points counted?

Spoiler

Let’s review the points system once again.

At the end of each turn, we will count the points for regions that are occupied by factions.

If your faction has 13 regions worth 1 point each, and 3 regions worth 3 points each, that's 22 points — 13 x 1 = 13, 3 x 3 = 9

Total — 13 + 9 = 22

If a faction loses a region, it also loses the points for that region, and they will be deducted from the total amount of points.

Pay attention to the fact that owning your capital gives you 1 point, but owning other capitals give you 5 points. And Vaults give 3 points.

The second most common question was: “I earned stars during the turn, entered the War site, but I still see less than 5 stars earned”

Here’s why. Stars earned during a turn will only start reflecting on the War site after you choose a territory to attack and defend, AND push the «Confirm» button.

I don't like this wars where its all random and only 33% of players randomly win.

Its much more interesting when we had set goals/missions to do and everyone knew from start what they have to do to get those goals/missions done (even though some of them were hard like killing 7000 tanks) .

I hope that my war faction will be Santa. I like Santa, so I am willing to support and help him win the war. Santa and the elves will protect the Christmas 2019 holidays from the evil snowman.

Goodness me, there is always an enemy somewhere!

Cool event, but it does not change the gameplay, the game still sucks.

Last war I played was the thing between Lion, Bear and Tiger I believe. We won and it was fun because everyone told us we would lose.

But I bet this festive war will be a full p2Enjoy event, with insane daily amount of stars.
