Make it possible to capture an enemy titans dome.

Who else is tired of enemy titans coming into your teams base and plopping out their domes, and then having to wait 20 long seconds, before the dome disappears?

 

Well this is what this idea is for to make it so the titan has to be careful of where it places it's dome.

 

And that idea is the ability to capture the enemy titans dome which will work the same way as it would if you were capturing a point in CP. Only difference is that you gain an actual tactical advantage if you do so.

Interesting idea. I think it should be this way: if you stay inside the dome for 3 seconds and there are no enemy players in the dome at the same time, then you capture it. This means that in order to capture it you have to somehow kill every tank inside it, which isn't an easy feat even with overdrives.

I never got round to suggesting it, but I thought this was something Isidas could do by zapping the dome generator for n seconds (5 seconds might be too low, 10 seconds might be too high) and resetting the 20 second timer if it's successful

People use hunter, but that doesn't stop enemy titans from plopping down their domes into your base. And practically be indestructible while it's under heavy fire.

It's especially awesome when they drop the dome just outside your base so they can fire at you, but are beyond Hunters OD reach.  Many a time I've tried to disable the beacon only to be spawn-killed before I could get in range.  That 1.1 second delay is just stupid.

That's if the hunter in the battle is really good at hiding then surprising the enemy. But most hunters are probably just rushers meaning they rush to the destination and attack, which gets them killed more often than not.

 

And yet I still seem to always see titans plopping down domes in enemy base and be protected undisturbed till the protection wears off, and by then they did a number on the enemy team.

These days, I 50-50 use Titan and Viking. But when an enemy Titan uses his dome, I find it challenging. I hide, or I run and he has to stay under his dome or follow me to make a good use of his drugs. And when the dome is gone, Viking OD with Rico on him. ?

I don't mind if a titan plops down its dome, as long it's not in my teams base.

I will vehemently support such a balance chance. However, I still believe that this is a half-measure. It's impossible to clear out an entire titan dome. It's pretty much impossible to kill even a single player under the dome. 

 

Stronger changes are needed, in addition to this good idea. Maybe the titan dome shrinks over time. Maybe the titan dome dissociates when it takes enough damage. Maybe it should lose its health regeneration aspect.
