Early next year all the players from the BR ?? and LATAM servers will be added to EU servers!

See announcement here in spanish https://tankionline.com/es/2019/12/migracion-del-servidor/

Give a warm welcome these new players! (not @Adriel.RB he plays here already ? )

Raw translation in spoiler below:

Spoiler

The migration will be done in  2 parts:

First part  - transfer of servers in which LATAM and BR players play, to the European data center. This will happen this week, on  December 20 from 4:00 UTC to 8:00 UTC.

During the first part, they will see almost no change. They can still play only with US server players. The only visible change is that the chats and forums of LATAM and BR will be discontinued. Disabling these services is one of the important parts of the migration process and will happen with the server restart on December 20.

After the end of the COMPLETE migration process (in January-February 2020) we can move them to the chats and forums in English.

In this period when the chat and the forum is not available, they can continue to communicate on  Discord servers .

Keep in mind that on December 20 the game will be closed for about 4 hours to perform the server transfer.

Second part  - union of the accounts of the US and EU servers. This part is planned to be carried out at the  end of January 2020 - beginning of February 2020.

What changes will come in January - February?

  • Browser players will be moved to the new HTML5 version of the game, which its new and user-friendly interface.
  • They can play on their Android mobile devices! Just download the app  here .
  • They will be able to join the pairing battles much faster, due to the greater number of players on EU servers.
  • The website, forum and in-game chats will be available in English by default. Even so, they can choose any of the languages available in the US.

They will be able to read news, participate in events and competitions, obtain information about news, etc., in the EU sites. We will keep the Wiki available for some time, but only the European Wikis will be updated.

The game interface will still be available in Spanish.

When will it happen?

Migration will happen in one or two months or so. The exact date will be announced later.

hehe, could be true though, these servers have been running dry, and the ones that stayed are probably the ones that have invested in the game.

I play on the Latin servers and figured this was going to happen.  Matchmaking ruined the whole Latin game.  Previously there were over 10,000 players at peak times.  Before MM you could easily get into a low population game for three or four hours around restart.  MM stopped that since you had to have at least 16 players for a battle.  It became almost impossible to complete missions other than at the very peak few hours.  More and more players started quitting since they couldn't get into battles to complete missions.  In a very short time you couldn't get into any kind of battle a few hours around restart.  Then Tanki made missions harder.  It became almost impossible to complete a mission...at the very least it took three times as long as it would on the EN servers.

More players left since MM wouldn't let anyone into a battle without a very long wait and now there are only about 450 players on at the peak time.  The really sad part of this is it was a very active happy and fun community....people didn't get tired of Tanki, they got tired and frustrated for waiting to play Tanki.

I now see this starting to happen with the EN servers.  It is getting more difficult to enter a game a few hours around restart.  There are not enough players online to fill all the mission modes.  At least DM is out of the picture.  That is helpful.

Anyway, thanks for the tip.  I guess my Spanish and one Brazilian acct are now just exotically named EN accts...no more Spanish practice.

They have like 500 players online lol, this server is so dead.

Not possible. The reason why Chinese server will not merge is because a particular PRC law. Specifically, that law allow minors to register for an account, but you will need your real name and PRC Identification Number (the only way to obtain it is become a citizen when you turned 18, lived there for few years and renounce all other citizenships you have). And prepare to face some OP restriction.

If PRC server merges with EU, then a Chinese minor (assume he/she resides in PRC) can bypass the restrictions and register a Tanki account. WHICH IS A BIG FAT VIOLATION OF THE PRC LAW!

That's so sad imagine the daily player count if Chinese people could play tanki normally

Servers will be alive again ?

Right now is the Latin servers peak time and there are 450 players online.  I don't think there is going to be much effect on EU servers when they are eventually combined.  Although, before Matchmaking there were more than 10,000 layers online at peak times...maybe some of them will come back because after MM was implemented you could never get into a battle without very long waits ...and then there is just the lousy battles MM creates.  So we will see, but my guess is that the ES/EU server merger will be unnoticeable.

True, we won't notice it at peak time, but it will be noticeable for NA/LATAM players. Right now they are split in two with low volume. Putting them together will help (temporarily).

What's NA/LATAM   ??/LatinAmerica

I think all the players on the ES servers are probably pretty stoked since their wait times are going to decrease dramatically and they will be able to complete missions almost at will.  Right now if you get a JGR, RGB, ASL, or a Siege mission in off hours, you just about can't do them unless you are willing to spend hours.  It's awful trying to play on the ES servers in any but the very peak times...and even then it's wait, wait, wait.  The ES players should be very happy campers (well hopefully not all campers, but happy none the less).
