PRO battles are DEAD

A picture speaks a thousand words.

Also, I joined the highlighted DM battle and all of the tanks are dormant. Seemed strange. Started playing and they are all teaming.

Just LMAO. This game is so dead.

TBH most pro battles these days are just Serplihov CTF with no drugs, but the guy who created it conveniently leaves ODs on, making battles lopsided from the start.

 

I'm thinking about making a "DM club" where we have orginised DM battles, but I don't have the time/energy to do that unfortunately.

Yeah it's hard to find no-supply + no-OD.

The creators more ofte than not probably are using Dictator.  Huge advantage in that format.

I actually made a topic about changing PRO battles so that when drugs are disabled, OD is disabled too. It got shot down "because some people want the exact opposite, you can't please everyone. Pro battles are supposed to be like that." Oh please, spare me that PR bullcrap. We're talking about balance, and it's no fun when you join a supposedly no supplies battle and get hammered by fully drugged up Dictator noobs.

Well, there are several "no-supply + no-OD" Serpuhov CTF battles at any given time, most of the time at least Silence CTF, Noise CTF and Rio CTF are also on offer. And "no-supply + no-OD" Polygon CP is always there, too. I know all this for sure, because when I play PRO battles, I usually want them without overdrive.

 

However, I often wonder why there is so much express demand for "no-supply + no-OD" battles in this forum, it is the same thing in the German language forum, but the number of people actually playing them on the server is limited. I wish that people would complain less and simply do it, it would be more fun (and more battles).

Because most of the time the battle I make nobody joins. It also isn't a personal taste thing, it's a huge balance issue that the devs are refusing to fix. (the RU community will get mad because they can't farm noobs anymore)

Also infuriating finding battles with button supplies disabled, but drop boxes enabled. Which means no fighting chance against those who picked up a box. It's why I stopped playing pro battles after I was finished with my missions on my alt accounts.

If it's a Island/Poly CP then yes, but on larger maps like Serplihov having drug boxes actually make the game more interesting because it introduces map control and whatnot.

Actually it doesn't makes the battle more interesting. Just more torturous than even supplies being constantly spammed. Whoever controls the drop locations controls the battle. Nothing skilled about that.

I hate how PRO Battles are so uncreative. They are either

  • Island CTF
  • Serpuhov CTF
  • Polygon CP
  • Sandbox XP/BP
  • Silence Parkour (and it's just Russians chatting)

The whole point of them is to have a custom battle on any map. The game should always default to the Battle List with that Matchmaking button on the top so people can choose Matchmaking if they want to instead of it being forced on people.

Serpuhov is a popular map because it has a lot of varied terrain and is suitable for most hulls and most turrets.  Can't say that about all maps.

The others... yeah... they are way too specialized - I don't get the attraction.

 

Not sure what your last bit is about.  MM is the most popular by far because that is where income is generated - through mission rewards and containers.

It's a simple matter of scrolling over on the "Play" page to get to battle list.

Polygon CP is just brainless: shoot, go to point, die, respawn, repeat.

 

Island is only for close ranged weapons.

 

I never understood anything about sandbox xpbp or silence parkour.

May be people should start hosting get-together hubs, where they play without supplies and however they want. The HTML5 version of the game doesn't require you to have a "PRO" battle pass, so you can forget about crystal sinking your way to play these. The balance then is in your hands. You could even talk to everyone to make sure before a match that it's fair in terms of fire-power as well. I personally just dislike drones, having to use supplies and unfairly-matched games, so any match that doesn't have all of those, I'd be glad to play.

 

Personally, I don't like DMs in general. Wide range of respawn mechanics basically guarantees that you will eventually die anyway, there's no way to rake in a kill-streak due to your skill alone, you need to just overpower everyone and that sucks.

Normally I love DM, but in Tanki it's terrible because the map gets overcrowded and there's always some guy spawning behind you. Gauss/wasp might change that however...

Honestly, the only thing left for me in Pro-Battles are Xp/Bp. Magnums and Compact fuel tank Firebirds have ruined most of the Pro maps for me. 

Serpuhov CTF is still not completely ruined because of it's diversity. In my ranks, most players want No-Drug+ OD Serpuhov  battles because there is a mixture of M2s and M3s and the team who got more M3s can easily overpower the other team if there are no ODs, and it becomes plain and boring battle with obvious results.

I'd say they're dead because it's so much rarer now to find English speaking players.

And unfortunately, the English players you do find are more likely to be children whom you can't carry normal conversations with.
