With the rise of that dumb OK Boomer meme, I think it is time we find out exactly how experienced we are with this game when compared to other players.

2008-2009: Greatest Generation - Old TO Graphics, 4 turrets/hulls

2010-2012: Silent Generation - Before rebalance (everything was worth 10 times less), Old TO Graphics, all hulls have appeared, turrets before hammer update appeared

2013-2015: Baby Boomers - Started TO at its peak (100 000 players on weekends), Semyon Kirov, After rebalance,  Vulcan and Hammer introduced, TX project underway, Starladder Clan Tournaments

2016-2017: Gen X - TX completed and rivals TO, Premium Accounts, Cedric Debono, Module-Paint separation, Night/Space mode, SMP deleted, Smart Cooldowns, Daily Missions

2018-2019: Millenials - MMS, HTML5, Magnum and Striker, Changes to Scoring System, Rebalance 2018, Containers, new Shop, in-game Clans

2020-: Gen Z - Who knows?

Please comment on what significant events I have missed and vote on which category you belong to.

For instance, I started in 2013, so I would be a boomer.

Smart cool downs, daily missions, premium account, and night mode would fall in the 2013-2015 category.

What's SMP?

Striker and magnum were 2016-2017 thing.

I'm gonna fix it. I was going off of intuition and my memory when deciding where to place each and I was grouping them in eras of TO. Like the time after Smart Cooldowns and Premium Accounts feel completely different than right before those 2 updates.

SMP = Score Multiplier Pass. Basically, in the garage you could spend a small amount of crystals (like 5000 crystals) to get either a 30% exp boost, 50% exp boost, or 100% exp boost. It was extremely useful for F2P who wanted to rank up quickly.

I know what the score multiplier pass was, I just didn't know what that acronym was. But thanks for the quick reminder anyway.

Don't forget the 2016 Global Game Balance Update which ruined the game

Yeah I remember that. That update had so many bad changes that I would say that it would qualify for being the worst update in TO history.

Silent Generation, because I started in 2011 on a different account, and I'm pretty sure Shaft was already a thing. I was semi-active on that account (and another one, because I lost the password for my original account) during 2011-12 and 2014. I stopped playing in 2015 and made this account in 2016 and played some in 2017 and 2018, but I only started to be really active in Spring of this year.

Either this or the premium account update or the paint-module separation.

Premium account cut the entire playerbase in half overnight, causing TO to lose frustrated F2P players. Otherwise, it was actually an extremely good update.

Paint-Module separation completely wrecked TO's economy and the paints worked. Zeus literally became 2x more expensive even though it served no longer served an actual purpose and now everyone has 3 50% modules.

1) those F2P players must've been really butt hurt that they felt like they also deserve the perks if they call left because of it.

2) while the STD module system made it so complex, so did the modules with with paints. Imagine needing a specific protection combo, and a girly paint like "In love" or samurai has it. You would have to decide either your pride or your desired setup.

What you said is literally the reasoning for that update. The problem is that no one uses like 90% of the paints anymore because of it.

Maybe 90% of the paints aren't that good.

I dont really understand why people loved the paint system. You can do the same thing now except you can customize even more. Being able to go 50% seems bad as it makes some turrets like Rail unplayable many games, but i do like the system better than the 2018 version
