My opinion

Color selection need to rebuild.

I think there is two (maybe more) ways:

Way 1. If player used some colors many times - this colors need moved closer to start position. Why? If i started game i see - its winter. OK, i need White color. Next time - summer. I prefered two colors - Lead or Pyton. First ten or more seconds is lost - i scrolling long color bar (with colors that i NEWER used)  to Lead ...

Not good solution

Way 2. if player need - color can be marked - "always use in this map" (thus - map "in winter" and "in summer" is DIFERENT", if need - marked for play style - "Capture points", "capture Flag" or "Assault" (thus assault - "Defend" can be different  from "Attack")).

If unchecked - previous color select is returned.

You have a favorite tab in new Html5, so you can stand out your favorite paints from the others you don't use, hopefully they will close the flash version of Tanki very soon and everyone will move on to the new great html5 version of the game. ?

I am lost in the forums ,but please fix the 0 damage bug. I have done direct hits that do 0 damage, and even mines also do 0 damage. I think is like between 15 and 25 % of the shots that do no damage!

I divided what Tanki can do to improve their game for the new decade into three pillars: time, maps, and premium. For the first pillar, time; I believe that having battles last 7 minutes is quick and efficient, however, I don't think that games should be locked into one time frame. Tanki should allow for more flexibility in matchmaking by making options for longer lasting matches, such as 14min or 30min battles for Tankers that are interested in longer games. I think this would be a great change that could make matches more dynamic and engaging. Now for the second pillar, maps. Ever since matchmaking started, the diversity of maps has taken a serious blow. I can respect the efforts Tanki has made in the previous year to add more, but it still feels as if we are playing on the same 5 maps in matchmaking. I think Tanki should bring back more and more maps based on community polls, to once again, add to Tanki's dynamics and immersion factor. Lastly, premium. Although Tanki is doing a pretty solid job on keeping the game not to pay to win, there are some aspects of premium that could be improved for free-to-players. My biggest complaint, Tankoins. The amount that non-premium players can obtain is essentially nothing, which does allow for any opportunity of purchase for non-premium players. Free players should get significantly more Tankoins because the amount they get is shameful. Also, product kits should return to the garage for purchase of crystals.

 

Those are my three pillars that I truly believe would improve Tanki for the next decade. I hope the developers will seriously consider my ideas, because I am a dedicated long time player and my list was well thought out. Cheers!

The first post in this topic really said what I've always wanted to say, but couldn't put in words. It's almost as if hating the game and complaining about updates is a trend that people follow only for the sake of being cool, or whatever. When Overdrives first came out, I was baffled how anyone thought it was a good idea to put such broken (OP) mechanics into the game, fast forward few weeks later, I couldn't even imagine how pale, and uncolored the game was before ODs were introduced. I'm not here advocating this is straight up the best game in the world, but I'll be damned if this isn't a game that I enjoy and cherish deeply. I've played Tanki for the better part of this past decade and I'm thankful for all the opportunities it has provided me with, be it meeting new friends or just amazing gaming experiences. So, for the people that constantly nag about every single update, I say this: just leave the damn game, bro. It's unbelievably annoying how you *constantly* fill the forum threads with rubbish and trash the developers - who worked day and night to make these updates a thing - and say that their work is insignificant and bad. It'd downright repulsive and insulting. Either grow up and deal with this maturely, through constructive and helpful criticism or just leave the game and rid us of your constant fret.

 

In closure, I apologize if I sounded a bit aggressive, I just needed to get that off my chest. To Tanki developers, Tanki staff, Tanki players and Tanki itself, thank you for sticking around and making this game a continuing thing. May this decade be a better, more prosperous and productive one than the one before, and happy new decade!

A very nice message and quite humble...a huge departure from Tanki's normally smarmy spin and tortured rationalization.  One can only hope that the essence of this lovely New Year message from Tanki is a new leaf being turned over and they will back up what they just said with action and actually listen to the community.

 

Merry New Year devs, staff, and players.  I hope it's a great year for all of us ?

That's not a bug, that's a new feature that can potentially be the solution to the spawn killing epidemic that has plagued the game over the years.

No it doesn't. 

 

The spawn protection is a feature that is long needed to solve the problem of being spawn killed. Sure, it needs some more work, but when it's done, it'll be among the best features to be released in TO history.

to hell with that, spawn killing might be a problem in some formats, like xp bp for instance but it is not a problem in matchmaking, if they were to add a spawn protection, this is not the way it should be implemented, it's just ridicilously unfair.

I think that could be the only solution to the game.

 

Reboot Tanki.

  • Make a new game based on Tanki.
  • Everything the same except for a new HTML5 interface.
  • And no Overdrives, no Drones, no Alterations, no Siege, no Assault, no Gauss, no Magnum, for a while or ever.
  • Start with Smoky, Fire, Wasp and Hunter.
  • Call it New Tanki.
  • The current (Old) Tanki could continue for some time, a year or two, but with an announcement that it will end.
  • Transfer all accounts to the New Tanki.
  • Some can wait until the end of the Old Tanki to transfer, while others can transfer as soon as the New Tanki is available.
  • Accounts that transfer should get all their economic advantage in the form of Weekly Containers with value based on their Old Tanki rank, meaning they get the full value once they reach the same rank or equivalent. If you open all your Weekly Containers at Recruit you wont get the whole value of your Old Account, you'll get a lot less.
  • Aesthetics could be transfered with an Aesthetics Currency.
  • It may be the only way for Tanki to continue.

and happy New Year to all - may the next decade be as good as the previous!!

 

Having been playing Tanki for some years (6-7?? would be nice for us old people, if the starting date was displayed somewhere ?). Anyway, have so far been a free rider in this game and have been satisfied with that choice, but being a non-drugger (except for using OD's) it's getting more and more difficult to make the missions.

 

So what I would like is, that Tanki developed a 'second' Premium possibility (maybe named Pro or the like) where players get the possibility to make the missions also in Pro-battles without any other advantages (if you want that, then buy Premium). It would at least solve my problem as I in Pro battles would be able to chose what can and can't be used. Secondly it would allow people to play on maps they like and still being able to make the missions (as mentioned before here the matchmaking variety of maps isn't as wide as at least I would like it to be). Thirdly it also gives possibility to play with players you know/like without having to create a group, so you can play both with and against players you know - this possibility disappeared with matchmaking and at least I miss this possibility. 

 

Got no clue if this idea have been presented before (if so and it has been dumped, then just forget it) or if anyone else than me would be interested in this kind of solution. But as I see it, the idea would compensate Tanki a bit for a less use of supplies and so on, by paying a smaller fee for being able to play more freely/as you would like and otherwise being as as a no-payer player. And by the way - this idea is probably not at once ready to implement, so some modifying and so on for sure is okay.

Seems i not explain full situation - i use Standalone Client Application (download from www.tankionline.com homepage).

might be? Bruh, it is a problem. A big problem. Spawn killing ruins 95% percent of all team battles. There is no counter to such an exploit.

 

this is wrong too. Happens in all formats. Matchmaking is no exception.

 

might be unfair to those who abused this exploit over the years, but it's really retribution for those who have suffered from it. So I think it's fair.

 

you're just mad because you are an exploiter and this was the only way you could do well in battles.

But why spawn killing happens?

Overdrives, Drones, One-shot equipment, Finish Top 3 Missions, Stars, Groups, Mults, fast connection team vs slow connection team, maybe even buyers teams vs noobs teams... because I don't undertand how else some battles could be created.

Maybe 5-10 second of DA, DD and SB could be better to help with the spawn killing in MM if they don't want to deal with fundamental changes. That will mean not only defense, but also some push back against spawn killers.

Trooper can continue after that.

0 damage is not good and it could be abused.

Or my idea of aerial bombarments for spawn killing tanks or the same tank a few times.

What is the problem of paying 3 million on a m4 drone, or 150k on an alteration, or to buy supplies at all? THe point of buying any of these is to have an advantage over other players and now it has been taken away in matchmaking by adding a temporary spawn protection

1) first off alterations are not supposed to be upgrades of their stock counterparts, they're supposed to provide a different playstyle. And second there's no mention of these things in my first two posts.

 

2) the advantage of said things is still there. You're just salty because you can't abuse the spawn killing exploit as much as you used to.
