DISCLAIMER:

"Do admins get incinerated?" is a short story which features Sacrifice and his quest to find the truth behind the disappearance of the admins. Incineration, Flexoo's office and the enchanted board - there is a lot going on in the Reporter's Press that the general public is unaware of. Many dark secrets are finally going to brought to the general public's eye by Sacrifice. Its okay, you can thank me later. The story depicted, personalities of characters and events are all fictional. Any resemblance is a mere coincidence.

I have always wondered why the admins leave. I mean, I have come across stuff like "I am leaving Tanki Online so that I can move on in my life", but I didn't quite believe that, though I do admit that the reason is quite convincing. However, I had always wondered what the other side of the picture might be.

Recently, I had been having some really bad dreams. In this dream, I saw the Flame paint being seated on an incinerator and being turned to ash. Strange? The flame paint is handed out only to admins. Even stranger? I had been having this dream for the past three days. I don't want to believe it, but maybe it is the truth. Maybe the admins simply got incinerated rather than leaving the Tankiverse to get a real life.

I knew something wasn't right. Why do all the newspaper reporter admins have to leave after a year and a half of their service? Mind boggling question, isn't it? So, last week, when my friends pythor20000 and Person_Random invited me to visit the newspaper printing press of TO, I availed the opportunity and vowed to myself to find out the truth once and for all.

I packed my bag and took my journal, as well as a camera disguised as a pen. I knew I had to go to great lengths and may even have to endanger my own life to unleash the truth, but I would have to do it.

So there I was, going undercover into the printing press. I was greeted warmly by PR (Person_Random) and Pythor. My heart ached. What if my speculations about the admins, the incineration and stuff - what if it was all true? The next in line after the admins are the very reporters of the team. They are my friends. I can't stand them being incinerated. NO. They are too young for this to happen. I have to keep my guard up. I have to do this.

They took me inside the press, which was ordinary just like any press I had been to. There were ten printing machines lined on one side and ten desks on the other side, and a wide pathway in between that lead straight to the admin’s office. There was only one admin present at any time of the day. PR had given me the general guidelines before I came. The desks were nearly empty but they were a great mess. PR told me that reporters sometimes work overtime to complete their articles.

"Is the workload too much?" I asked.

"No, we just tend to procrastinate a lot." replied PR.

"Procrastination, huh? Something I can definitely relate to" I said sarcastically, clearly hiding my disturbance because my worst nightmares about admins being incinerated and their ashes thrown into the endless madness only seemed closer to coming true.

While I was still immersed in my thoughts, PR started saying something about newspapers, printing, art and ponies. WAIT PONIES? Did I hear that right? Well, that explains his rainbow shoes. Pythor had already left us at the gate, saying he had some important work to attend to. While we were making our way to the admins office, Tidebreaker suddenly jumped in front of me and yelled 'SACRIFICE!' so loud that for a moment I thought that I had been caught and my camera pen had revealed me and I should run because if developers find out about me spying they might write my name next on the incineration list. Gosh, this was so terrifying. Just as I was about to make a run for my dear life, Tidebreaker hugged me so hard that incineration didn't seem like a bad idea anymore. My ribs were crushed and all the air was pumped out of my lungs.

"I am so glad to see you, bro! We can finally meet!" said while still crushing my ribs.

"Air... Oxygen... Somebody... 911" I was saying it in a tone that clearly suggested I was soon about to leave mankind for good.

Just before it was official that I was going to die, Tidebreaker released me and looked at PR. If he was going to hug him too and if I were PR, I'd run to admins office, lock it and hide under the admin's table. But instead they went for a bro handshake and greeted each other cheerfully. I would have settled for that rather than having my ribs crushed. Tidebreaker sure was a well built guy.

"Aren't you a bit early today?" asked PR.

"Well, you know, Hexed is leaving and I gotta work on an article for the next week's release. Things are different now because we are short of a reporter since kaisdf has been promoted to an admin," Tidebreaker said in a single breath.

While they were chitchatting and catching up on yesterday's work, I decided to give them space and started touring the huge hall myself. I went to the board that hung on the wall right outside the admin's office. The board was very well decorated. There was a list of all the previous admins on one corner and a list of all the reporters on the other side. A collage of various moments throughout the decade hung in the middle. It was a huge board. I saw a picture of a younger LOLKILLERTOTHEDEATH holding a crystal coupon and a piece of paper (What may have been his very first article) and smiling at the camera. All the wonderful moments of all the people associated with the team were held on the board in the form of a picture with the help of pins.

I was scanning the board for any clues, moving left and right again and again, slowly, so that the pen in my pocket could catch the whole board. So that I can have a further look at in when I get out of the press. Just as I was looking at what seemed to be a picture of a round table conference of newspaper team, PR popped up right next to me.

"The board has a special enchantment," said PR.

"Special enchantment?" I asked in a way that showed my confusion very well.

"Yes. All of the wonderful moments of any person attached to the newspaper team, magically appear on this board. We don't have to take any pictures. Our most special moments automatically make their way to this board. It was a gift from the developers." explained PR with a small smile on his face.

PR further explained, pointing to the center of the board, "Here is a picture of Hippin when he was in Hawaii. He really loves Hawaii. That is what motivated him to include it in his pen name. Right next to him, you will see Tide breaking the tides while he is surfing in the sea. Hence the name Tidebreaker. Over here you will see me writing random personal letters and sending it to people for fun, hence the name Person_Random. Right next to him you will see Spy on a secret mission (A picture of Spy spying an esports match)."

As he continued to explain, I wondered if I ever joined the team - would there be a picture of me standing with a knife over a pool of blood? A disturbing thought to have.

After explaining a couple more of pictures and Polaroids to me from the board, he decided we should meet Flexoo (The admin who was currently on duty). He opened the door and asked Flexoo if we could come in. There was not much to say about my meeting with Flexoo. Here is a summary of it:

Flexoo...Table...On chair... Hair standing upwards... Loose tie... Always about to yell at anyone for anything... A huge pile of articles that need to be reviewed... Red eyes... Me .. You may leave now ... Okay.

Meeting Flexoo showed me just how busy the admins are. However, to me, there seemed to be another reason for the red eyes. Maybe he also speculated that admins don't leave for good, they are made to leave. If Flexoo knew something, there might be some evidence in his drawer. Alright! Change of plans. I need to get into Flexoo's office to see if I can find anything. I can't risk talking to Flexoo about my thoughts without confirming what he already knew. But, with PR insisting I visit the printers section and then proceed to the cafeteria for lunch, I won't be able to get inside the office without being noticed. I needed a distraction. I also wanted Flexoo out of the office.

"Yeah, let's see the printers. I always wanted to see one. I just love how they print and do nothing else." I said while still thinking of a possible distraction.

"I know right! Unlike humans, printers are pretty chill!" exclaimed PR.

"Hey, can you tell me something?" I asked PR.

"Sure, go ahead, man," replied PR, still looking at the printer section as if it were the most wonderful thing in existence.

"Do admins lock themselves up in their room and only come out when they have done their work?" I asked in a way that would not give away my newly forming, strange plan that could get me jailed in Netherworld Jail of TO within few seconds, knowing that breaking into any admin's office without permission is a serious offence to Forum Privacy and is punishable by suspension.

"He leaves for lunch. I am sure that he would join us for lunch," said PR, clearly unconcerned with my questioning.

A strange plan formed in my head. During lunch, I could excuse myself to the toilet and make my way into the admin's office. The plan was easy to execute. Flawless, unless Flexoo locks the office when he leaves for lunch, then it might fail. Anyways, it was worth a shot.

For the next thirty minutes, I listened to PR talk about printers. How to print? Why print? What to print? When to print? All sorts of questions that a normal person would not bother to ask, PR answered for me. What am I gonna do without him and his pool of knowledge? I have no clue.

Finally, he showed me the cafeteria and for the first time, I felt as if the odds were on my side and the Tankiverse wanted me to discover the truth of admins disappearing, because the cafeteria was almost completely opposite the admins office. It had taken us 10 minutes to get to the lunchroom from the office, but I raced back there in two. We sat down on the circular tables. The cafeteria wasn't much. Five tables with 4 chairs on each. A counter at one corner and an LED TV on its opposite side. Chairs were comfy and the room was well air-conditioned. We didn't order anything since the menu for each day was set. We waited for Pythor, Tidebreaker and Flexoo. They joined us shortly.

Flexoo was now wearing his black coat and looked pretty well suited compared to when I had visited him forty minutes ago. Pythor was wearing an orange upper while Tidebreaker was wearing a blue shirt. I didn't notice their outfits before because I was just so tense. Soon, our meal came. It consisted of sandwiches, pizza, chicken lollipops and banana milkshake.

These guys were pretty chill, talking and joking like no incineration was ever going to happen. I knew if I began eating, I might lose my only chance at the admin's office. So I excused myself as soon as the meal was served. I ran to the office only to find it locked. GREAT. So I left such an amazing meal for nothing? But no wait. A new plan formed. I could use the pins of the board and try to open the door as they did in cartoons.

So I looked like a total fool of trying to open a tall, heavy door with a small pin. Bad idea. I held my head and sat down next to the door like a total failure. Wait! Another idea popped up. There must be paper clips out here somewhere. How can you survive in an office like this without paperclips? I searched and found one. I "borrowed" it from a nearby desk. I unfolded the clip and tried to open the door.

I won't tell you how I opened a tall and heavy metal door with a paperclip but I will tell you that if you ever try that yourself, you will have sore fingers. Within seconds, I was inside the office. I still had my journal and camera pen with me. Though I didn't need the journal, the camera pen was proving its worth. No time to waste, I thought to myself. I slowly did a 360 in the room, so I could have a clear and detailed look at it when I got back home. After the 360, I made my way to the table and started rifling through the drawers. I saw a folder which was clearly glued shut. As soon as my eyes caught sight of it, I had a strange urge to put it in my bag, yell "EUREKA" and run for the hills.

I took the folder and put it in my bag, repressing the urge to shout eureka. However, as soon as I slipped the folder in my bag, I heard footsteps coming. I closed the drawer hoping that the only evidence I had managed to get hold of would be the proof of admins disappearing. I left the room and just closed the door. I didn't have time to lock the door because I saw the whole newspaper team approaching from the other end of the corridor. Uh-oh.

Its time to get out, I thought to myself. I went over to the whole newspaper team and got their attention.

"May I have your attention, please. It was fun being with you guys on this tour, sorry for not being able to eat lunch. I just got a call from my house and I have to leave now. Thanks for having me. Bye guys!", I said and left as soon as I can. I clearly ignored everyone saying their goodbyes, instead leaving the building and running for my house.

I hoped deep down that if they found the door was unlocked, they might think it was a bandit and not suspect me. I hoped that maybe Flexoo didn't bother thinking to himself that he probably forgot to lock it. Such realistic assumptions to have.

I reached home in ten minutes and without wasting time I quickly threw my bag on my couch (I won't be giving you a tour of my house for now as it is not that important) and then threw myself on the couch. I opened my bag and took that folder out. The sight of the folder gave me goosebumps. Written on the envelope in bold red letters were the initials "IAS".

I opened the folder. It was glued perfectly. My heartbeat racing more every second as I pulled out the paper inside. The paper consisted of a drawing. Just when I thought that I had risked everything for nothing, I pulled the paper out and had a good look at it. What I saw made my jaw drop harder than any beat you've ever heard.

It was not an ordinary drawing. It was a strange machine that looked like a hybrid of a Freeze and a Firebird anchored to the ground. It looked like an incinerator. If that hadn't been enough of a clue, at the bottom of the page, the word "Incinerator" was typed in red ink. This couldn't be true! How could they incinerate admins after all that they did for the community?

Just as I was pondering on this horrifying thought the door of my apartment burst open. It was the Battle Mods team. They were lead by a captain with a strange metallic mask with "YELE" carved crudely onto the forehead.

"It's the Battle Mod team! Player Sacrifice, you have been caught sneaking into an admins office and stealing their private property. You shall be punished by trial in RU court, led by Marcus himself. Now get on the ground with your hands up. You have the right to remain silent!" Yele shouted in a single breath. For 2 minutes, no other sound was heard except for Yele yelling at me.

***

We were standing in Flexoo's office. I was still handcuffed. Just when Yele insisted on taking me to Netherworld Jail, Flexoo called her and asked her to bring me into his office instead.

"Its okay, guys. Leave him, he is a friend" he said, emphasizing the word friend.

The battle mods, after removing the handcuffs and returning the opened envelope to Flexoo, left u,s closing the door behind them. The office seemed quiet. Reporters probably went home early today.

"I don't care how, just tell me why you sneaked into my office?" Flexoo said pointing to his monitor which played a video of me doing a 360 in his office.

"That must have been what gave me away" I suggested. I clearly deserve a Nobel Prize for not seeing the camera in the admin's office.

"Yeah, and why did you take my folder?" asked Flexoo.

I thought it was time to shoot my luck.

Stay turned for the next part. See you next week!

Nice. But you know what, that incinerator is just to burn bills to ashes. Bills of blue spheres, teddy bears, and even distilled potato juice orders that cause a hefty load to the budget of the developers, which the Newspaper team disguises as "rewards for contests". No wonder they freaked out, thinking you had found one of the most expensive orders for concentrated cabbage syrup.

Wait, what happened here? Which member of the Newspaper edited the story and changed the ending? Its not like Sacrifice could actually protest since they finished him off by incinerating him. Using his writings in his journal, and his spy pen, it shouldn't have been too hard to compile the story and add an ending that puts reporters in a good light. I guess those reporters were able to hack into his account and use it. Please disregard all posts coming from Sacrifices' account. (I am joking)

On the slight serious possibility that Sacrifice actually wrote this story, kudos to him for this great work. Keep them coming!

It's out there - could maybe use a few images to break up the text.

I tried tbvh, but you can't have that many pictures in a story. However, I will think of something ?

Thanks for your feedback.
