It doesn't have that much range (it's linked to the radar), but I don't like it.

 

I think just knowing when your turret is going to make a hit or having to guess where people are hiding in bushes (or when you can't see them because an archway or something is blocking your view unless you change the camera) is part of the skill.

 

But I think it would be necessary on the mobile version (smaller screen), so it's been put in to the HTML version.

Pretty sure it was added for the mobile player base, but I don't really think it makes any specific turrets 'OP' since it works the same for all turrets. For me, someone who has played a long time without it I don't even notice it. But I would imagine its extremely useful to beginners who aren't fully used to the aiming/movement physics of this game.
