Hey, tankers!

 

We would like to collect more feedback about the last war.

 

I am quite sure that everyone liked it. However, there is still room for improvement. Your comments may help us to make the next war even more interesting and funnier for players.

Better and simpler explanation of the game rules. Share them sooner so we can get used to them.

The private faction chat was a great idea. One territory to attack and one to defend was good.

Maybe a more difficult/complex map would be great. Add a mechanics that prevent player selecting to defend a territory that is not under threat.

Refresh the map stats more regularly, war stat page done by @DaringDeer was way better https://tanki-war-2019-tzixbstlly.now.sh/. That guy deserve a giant cookie.

 

Silly idea from me, maybe have a chance card (like in Monopoly) every 2 turns or when you get a key territory: example of cards option

- Bad weather for the Clown faction and supplies were delayed, -20% of stars on territory X.

- Earthquake in territory X, defense crumble, attacker get +10% stars bonus

- Perms bank offer you 2000 stars, vote on which territory you want to add them at the end of the turn

- Shortage of Petrol in territory X, all your tanks are stuck, you cannot attack/defend this territory.

- Hazel Hack Gold Card! All your star are multiplied by 2 in Defence in territory X.

- Marcus won the lottery and bought you 2000 stars.

If you do such a thing again, please (a) make the map comprehensible, i.e. do not arbitrarily colour those regions that can be attacked in a colour completely different from the colour of the faction which owns it. Use a more decent hint system for the imbeciles among the Tanki players who would not understand where they can attack, actually attacking unreachable regions is technically impossible anyway. And (b) make it technically impossible to choose defence of a region that cannot be attacked by any other faction, there is a significant proportion of players who lack the intellectual capacity to understand which regions are in danger of an attack and which are not.

I liked this War, even if we lost. I would like these to happen more often, instead of wars like the War for Space and the Evil War. (Wars like War of Superpowers and Tank War are good too.) However, there could be some changes:

  • Make the border color of 1-point, 3-point, and 5-point territories more obviously different. (Navy blue, blue, and slightly lighter blue was not the best color choice.)
  • Disable defending of territories that can't be attacked by any other factions.

Idk how my team won, bc we were getting wrecked the entire war, but it was fun and the prizes made it feel worth competing in. The daily prizes allowed me to participate without being stressed if we were going to win or not. It was definitely worth playing in

if your talking about finding the snowmen contest  ... no I did not like it due to not finding any in regular MM battles.

 

for the rest of it some of it was confusing not knowing you had to log into a certain page to collect more containers ..

In terms of rewards, this war was splendid. However, as players mentioned before, the main problems were the buggy site, info spread out on the span of several days that made getting a comprehensive understanding of the war mechanics harder than it should've. And finally, the fact that hundreds of thousands of defense votes were essentially wasted defending territories that couldn't be attacked. If we can only defend attack-able territories next war, it would make for a more dynamic and interesting event! 

 

Also, may I suggest using the same mechanic used in the first war where players were able to pick their factions and what matter more weren't how many stars factions gathered but the factions's average stars earned. This way, all the negative feedback you received from players "always getting put in the losing faction" would be avoided. Also I think just being to pick the faction you want would make fighting for that faction more desirable (think enlisting for war as opposed to getting drafted ?)

 

And finally, the scoring mechanism for this war was top notch. It made turns hardly predictable and kept everyone on their toes. Definitely a keeper.

It was pretty great, we should occasionally have such map domination based wars often, maybe twice a year. 

Just that this time it felt a bit rigged; every faction rose to the top and then fell dramatically. And the problem of defending territories that couldn't be attacked was not solved. Other than that, it was very thrilling.

It was good and it could be better, but not with many of the ideas I read in this topic. 
Make it simple and easy to understand so most get it. 

Try making the capitals not attackable.

Winners of a round could get an extra reward. And with these bonus territory could be removed. That way I don't have to play for hours during bonus day. 
Next month I'll go for tier 2 on challenges.
