Various changes to certain gears / modes

I have came up with a list of ideas while playing in battles.

 

1. Gauss nerf required

Reason: 

Based on playing in battles, I found out a lot of players are using the Gauss turret together with Hornet overdrive and booster drone (Something that also need to be changed but reasons later), and it is extremely OP due to it's short reload time. Without the guided lights (As found in shaft / striker), it's not really fair to those 2 turrets (With longer reload time + longer shots travel time + light aim). I personally enjoyed using the combination, but I find there's a need for fairness.

Proposed suggestion:

Same with shaft and striker, a light aim is needed + longer reload times. Damage and radius likewise can stay the same.

 

2. Hornet Overdrive too OP

Reason:

Especially with booster drone AGAIN, the most frequently used turret are Magnum and Gauss, they are literally spawn killing people at base (Especially those high profile formed team in MM). It literally makes no sense to buy protection modules anymore if a 300K++ Mk 7 module literally gets destroyed by 450 crystals worth of supplies (Booster use 3 double damage and 1 battery). It's the only overdrive that spawn kill + makes protection module worthless (Though same goes for wasp, you still have time to react if driving a fast tank).

Proposed suggestion:

A LONG OVERDUE NERF. Hornet overdrive will not do damage to people with spawn protection + ONLY ignore the supplies being used by opponents (I.e Armour will be ignored with hornet's overdrive and double damage from opponents will deal regular damage to them.) Overdrive re-charge time should be lengthen as well. However, modules will not be affected by their overdrive anymore.

 

3. No leaving of allocated matchmaking battles

Reason:

Another problem especially doing challenges and certain modes. E.g A stadium assault battle, most people will leave if they are on the capping flag team OR leaving halfway if the team isn't winning. As a result, when you get allocated to such battles, there's only like 3 mins left to the game and it is not fair for these people who have no chance of getting first (Possibly not even getting any stars as there isn't enough time to earn exp)

Proposed suggestion:

I presume everyone who clicked on finding a match will want to play a game for a full duration. While I understand there might be mults due to this system of not allowing players to leave until they finish the full 7 mins, it is to ensure fairness of people who wants to play a full 7 mins duration but end up getting a ongoing match and had fallen behind. Players who are inactive for 80 seconds will still be kicked, however, 1 star will be given additionally each to the top 3 of that team, which will motivate people to keep playing even though they are losing and with team mates fell short.

 

4. Assault and possibly impacting CTF

Reason:

Right now, it's like unfair to players capping flags in assault. It's literally impossible for players to cap a flag while being the only 1 going for the cap with 10 enemies shooting at you from all directions and having a dumb mammoth / titan sitting right smack in the middle of the cap point.

Proposed suggestion:

There definitely need to be more than 1 capping point (FOR ASSAULT ONLY) especially in smaller maps so that everyone will spread out evenly, not crowded together in 1 place and making touchdown difficult. Players will also not be allowed to sit in the middle of flags / base anymore and a box boundary will be set up. If players on the same team goes into their own flag/base boundary, they will self destruct. This will also apply to PRO format battles, essentially speeding up battle timings for no-time-limit battles.

 

5. Turret used and the protection module should not coincide (More of a suggestion)

Reason:

This is targeted towards the diversity of the game, especially for PRO formats. My short explanation is, if a player, for example, is using magnum and alteration that land mines, he cannot equip magnum and mines protection. Why I suggested this is because most people knows what the popular turrets are, and in return, they use the the popular turret while they themselves use the same turret protection. As a result, in PRO battles, we see so much people using the same turret with the same protection (You guess it right about the turret I am saying, MAGNUM). I would like to create a essentially new level of game play with strategy. Using a popular turret that does insane damage will in return give you a disadvantage of having to taste your own medicine, getting attacked by 1. 

 

6. Magnum's alteration, the one that land mines (Geared towards PRO battles)

Reason:

This will be geared up specifically towards PRO battles without supplies. Tankers are literally camping and making the enemy's base a mine field that does 1000++ damage for each mine. Not really fair about this supplies usage when others, using other turrets, can't have such abilities. 

Proposed suggestion:

A system that will only make the number of active mines to 2. The moment a shot lands on ground and lay a mine, if there are already 2 present, the earlier one will be remove. Cycle repeats. 

 

7. Last but not least, top 100 ratings SHOULD get rewards (Suggestion)

Reason:

Personally, I do not find the ratings page for top 100 is useful if there are no rewards given for accomplishing such milestones. It's not an easy feat to make it to the top 100, hence, people who does should be able to get both recognition and rewards for their effort, like other games. Period.

I appreciate how much time you put into making this topic, but we only accept one idea per topic. Besides, most of your ideas either have duplicate versions or fit into larger category topics, and therefore should be posted there. More specifically:

  1. Already given and answered: check here.
  2. Same here.
  3. There is already similar ideas in the "Let's discuss MM System" topic.
  4. You can post it in the "Ideas for Game Modes" topic.
  5. I don't think it's necessary to implement such thing at this point. Players will have limited options, which will raise complaints. Example, parkourists tend to use impact turret, ex. Thunder, Magnum in Parkour Battles, this will be a disadvantage to them since it will deal more self damage.
