Why would you want it to go back to the way it once was when you could want it to be better than it has ever been before?

first we gotta stop the decay and then we can heal it .at first we gotta remove all the dumb ideas ,promote tanki, get a healthy player base and then we can think of new features and updates .step by step

Meh, the only good thing about TX was the lobby, battles starting when teams are full, and the graphics.

What makes me leave the game every time is the fact that after the first couple battles of that login, I get sent to battles where I'm basically a free target to those players with OP modules.

I didn't join TX till 2018. That's probably why my experience with it sucked, because I joined so late.

Wasn't all that great in the beginning either.

Tank/camera movement was goofy and there were very few maps - got repetitive very fast.

First a disclaimer about me: I am not only a player but also a customer, having spent some one thousand Euros over some seven years. I have a comprehensively maxed garage from where I can choose any combination I feel fit for purpose. I spend about equal time in MMS and PRO battles. I can and do afford using supplies to the max in MMS battles.

This said, I get the impression that the development of this game is recently heading towards a dead end of overpacing. I just played some battles in Rugby mode, which I had not done for some time, and the issue has been absurdly transparent in each of these battles. One or two Hornet-Vulcan-Defender players on each team (including me) dominate everything, with a few Hornet-Railgun players occasionally getting a shot. Everyone else is just game. Tactical skill and effort is not rewarded, because constant overwhelming damage per second firepower from Hornets on overdrive kills instantly on sight. It is unconceivable for me how this can be an enjoyable experience for anyone not playing Horrnet-Vulcan or Hornet-Railgun, and even for those who do (like me), this uncreative butchering is not sustainably attractive.

The development of this game must fundamentally change course. I heard in several Vlog episodes that the current lead designer of the game is of the opinion that every change to the game must make it faster paced. So I have no doubts why we have reached this dead end where we are now. The first thing is to realize that we are in a dead end. And the second thing must be to take the practical steps to get back on an open, sustainable track of game development.

This is not about one isolated step to take. It is about the fundamental philosophy of developing this game, about rewarding creative skill and tactical effort more instead of just overwhelming firepower. As I am not going to write a dissertation here, let me just suggest two easy to implement emergency measures to save the patient to live another day: Remove the feature that kills fasten the overdrive recharge (making this an exclusive feature of the Driver drone). And stop discouraging players from playing PRO battles without supplies and overdrives, where they can experience authentic Tanki gameplay.

If you want a meta suggestion to set this game on a path for a good future: Tell everyone working in your game software that they must play Tanki with an Isida turret and any hull other than Dictator for at least 30 minutes every day. This one meta measure alone would probably secure a good (and profitable) future for Tanki all by itself.

I understand the bit about Hornet being OP. But I don't understand how this is the end of TO?
Surely one OP hull OD is not the end of Tanki. Is there any thin simple that TO can do about the combo hornet/vulcan/defender? Surely there is.
Nerfing the OD recharge with the feature to be own by  Driver drone is a good idea. However I think it is a bit restrictive and all the standard players will have it ready about the same time. There is other ways, less recharge per kill, or reduce the 20 seconds of activity (or both).

Linking one recent discussion on Hornet-Vulcan-Defender.

However, the fundamental issue is not the overpowered nature of this particular combination. The fundamental issue generally is the ill-conceived development path of seeking to make the game ever more fast-paced. We have long passed the point where seeking a faster pace in battle action might in any sense benefit the game. And the folks who design game development need to understand this, to stop and reverse the attrition of the game.

The second fundamental issue, while less important, is forcing a mobile gaming experience on the bulk of players who play from PC/laptop and simply do not want a mobile gaming experience, but rather wish to enjoy their big screen in navigation. I do not know if this is another obsession of someone in charge of design, or if Tanki just wants to avoid the small effort to redesign the HTML5 user interface for optimal use of PC/laptop screens.

As with most OP stuff in the past, this will be hopefully nerfed in a future release. For now, my option is to leave MM battles early as there is no effective defense against certain combos.

It's not really about a particular combo being OP. The problem is that in the past several years, there has been consistently been some sort of equipment that has been near game-breakingly OP. If you have this equipment, you have an inherent advantage. These combos get nerfed over time, but then another one just as bad or worse takes its place immediately. I know that it's hard to achieve perfect balance, but I can't help but feel that this wasn't as much of a problem before. And I also feel that often adding new content takes priority over ensuring the game is reasonably balanced. A good example of this I would say is the augment system.

1. or it could be for $$$. I have a feeling that some of these changes (alterations becoming direct powerups, m3 shop kits to brigader, etc) are in direct result from needing to pay shareholders, not the devs being greedy/stupid. Please note that I am NOT siding with the devs here, I agree with what you said.

2. Hopefully we will get a UI update by the end of the year, but I doubt it.

it probably takes time as well... defender was fixed, but hornet and vulcan are going to be fixed later. I remember Hornet was a weak hull when overdrives came out compared to Vik and Mammoth, as well as Titan and when hulls like Vik and Mammoth got nerfed, Hornet suddently got better, and now we are now complaining about Hornet. It's just a matter of time.

that von-turdberg guy has this one idea -use isida to make gameplay diverse -blah blah blah .i agree the devs are doing a bad work of game developments and hornet-vulcan is a bit strong but i dont get why people whine over hornet OD all the time .and if u buy u dominate every match regardless of what ur using .so pls von-turdberg give a valid suggestion to solve the current hornet od problem .my suggestion -limit the amount of drugs to be used per match(except dictator OD and drop box supplies).hornet OD without dd is not a threat .

Okay, on the latest V-LOG trailer, they mentioned the, "Return of Crystal Boxes." What do you guys speculate this could be? Do you really think the Crystal Drops return permanently? Only for the month of June (TO's 11th Birthday)? Or a stupid new limited container? Will this remove crystals from normal containers? (That'd be so stupid) I really do hope it is the old crystal drops like in the oldest version of TO! I would feel the nostalgia ?

It makes the game much less fun to play - unless you are one of those in a hornet doing the same thing.

So either players will leave (who plays a game that is not fun) or 80% of the players will be in hornet.

How is either of those results good?
