3 Siege battles in a row where I just up and quit because no one on my team was trying to help cap.

What is wrong with these players?   It's just embarassing.

To many noobs. Or to many lazy players.

I just "run" from many Siege battles... Many 10 versus 10; me and 2 other players running to get the point; the others, just camping in base. I write many times in battle chat: "Get to point, stop camping noobs.". What is the answer from my team ? You want the point, go get it. You want to win, go and win. I'm to lazy to move. What I do ? Instant "run" from the game...

Players like that person and myself call those years the good times of tanki simply because we haven't experienced the game any earlier than that period.

I mean sure for me, 2018 wasn't perfect, could've been better. But it sure was heck of alot better than it is now by miles.

True, players used to call 2014-2015 the best times of Tanki, though they were a very good days, but I think they're overrated. True they was way more balanced than now, but not PERFECT. You had a very little amount of crystals, supplies. I remember in 2014 there was a 50% sales, and I wanted to upgrade my Hornet to M2, it was costing 35,000 with the discount, I worked all the day for hours and even with some help of others till I get this amount, though we were in grindy days and the fund was better.

Part of the problem is that you don't need to win to get rewards (stars). Why attack and try to win when you can camp, kill and get as many stars as the winners? Blame the game not the player.

I'll blame both.  They are TEAM modes.  At least have a little bit of pride.

It is not fun camping and ruining the experience for other players that like to be competitive.

I'm gonna give the players the benefit of the doubt. I mean not everyone was created equal. That goes for their interests, their role, their skill, etc.

Asking someone who's only purpose is to get kills to suddenly be a team player is like trying to make a giraffe be a carnivore. Its just not gonna work, at all.

So I fully blame the devs for removing DM and solo JGR from MM and for garbage modes like Seige and ASL.

If the devs hadn't done such a thing, we wouldn't be at this point where everyone is complaining about players only going for kills and camping like we are now.

You mean by returning DM, players who don't play the mode objective and focus only in kills will all migrate to DM?    This will never happen, and wont even reduce their amount even by a little.

There is TDM, players can enter it for killing, but they don't, because #1 they don't care #2 it's easier to get kills in other modes because players are playing the objectives

We will never know for sure. But what I am sure of is that there were many that played the solo modes. And when those solo modes got removed, they all had to flock to the team modes.

Also when the solo modes appeared as event modes, players flocked to them.

So perhaps they would go back to the solo modes.

TDM is basically a lame bootleg version of solo DM. Its just so damn boring.

I agree TDM is so boring I never play it except if I had a mission.  And DM is one of my favorite modes, but I mean it wont change the equation alot. And I don't think number of players who don't play the objective will decrease even by 5%.  Also I have no interest nowadays in returning DM, because now players with the most OP combos can just basically dominate and get a whooped amount of kills by just killing any player infront of them with zero skills. DM now isn't like what it was in 2017 and before.  And I think number of players in DM events because it's an event battle not because it's DM.

Agreed. Things like drones, power upgrade augments, ODs, status effects, etc should never have been added. Because of them, the game has become complicated on multiple sides, situations, etc.

I was playing CTF on highland and got the flag half way, I got destroyed, someone brought the flag back to the base, they got destroyed, someone else took it and wouldn't cap when the cap point was right in front of them. Then the other team returned it and won 1-0. I might as well just camp with railgun/shaft/magnum. Either my hard work gets undone by a mult or I get killed over and over by OP 9999 players when I try to catch the flag...

And now I have nothing else left to accomplish in this game. I just ranked up to Legend on my second account and I did it whilst being a Juggernaut. That was awesome.

Maybe you would like to help with preparations in the funeral of tanki online?

Yeah 70 percent of players hate the game now!  TO does nothing but make the game worse with every update.  Who has seen a flying tank?  If they wanted flying objects they should have added helicopters not hovering tanks its disgusting!!!!

I wonder how many times the buyers will win 7-0 before they get bored and quit the game? Flawed business model.

Honestly it's not a bad point. I enjoy losing sometimes. It makes the feeling of victory so much better. Fighting for wins and kills is definitely more enjoyable.

@ghost-guns

Interesting that you mentioned flawed business model because I was thinking the same thing.

But then I thought about it a bit more and think they actually do want people to quit.

I don’t have that much knowledge about online gaming but I assume the newbies are more motivated to purchase and get better and build up their gear.

Legends more than likely nearly have everything at this stage so spending less but there is a cost to having them on the server which over time probably has a negative return keeping them around.

So winning 7 – 0 or losing 7-0 will take the enjoyment out of it and get you to leave, probably why there is no map variety, used to be so many maps. Madness & Noise were cool maps – Noise especially missed.

My two cents on why Tanki is where it is right now, Tanki X. Ignored Tanki Online players and their concerns, didn’t care about issues people were having until after Tanki X bombed but by then it was too late , all those huge numbers that used to play had already got fed up and left.

It feels like Tanki Online has been on life support ever since, it lost its soul after that. It is when it became a Casino as opposed to a Sport. You used to get a Team vibe back then but now it is a paladin flying at you flashing green like something out of ghostbusters robbing your flag.

Hazel (lead dev) expects the old players to get bored and quit, he said so himself in one of the older V-LOGs, and he wants that so that new players can join and spend money on the game.

Notice how most of the updates from 2020 onwards have been focused on “improving the experience” for newer players, for example, the update that removed the option to micro-upgrade if you had already unlocked the next modification. No one asked for an update like that however Hazel pushed it through with the excuse that it would “simplify the upgrading process for new players” (not a direct quote).

Also, virtually all of the interface changes were done to cater to new players, a younger audience - possibly mobile-oriented players - who are more likely to buy stuff in the Shop before they realise just how unbalanced the game is and leave.

So in the end, you have a game that has lost its soul just as you said. From a nice arcade game where you can hop on for some fun when you feel like it, to a brainless gacha experience where battles are simply “who can better utilise the more broken augment/drone/overdrive”.

That's the disturbing part. New players will think this is a nice jolly game because the devs have done such a good job hiding the truth from them. Some of them will at some point spend their money in this game and then get their items nerfed.

Its a vicious cycle of devs overbuffing an item, players flocking to that item, the devs nerfing that item to the ground later and overbuffing something else, players flocking to it, etc.

What we - the players that know this truth - should do is tell any new player we come across this truth. And after that, let them decide if they still want to play this game.
