Why is typing in Tanki so clunky?

 Share

Question

For several years already, whether I chat in game or in the lobby(not the forum), some letters don’t register, and I end up with missing letters.  It’s not my typing nor my keyboard’s problem, as I can type normally anywhere else.

If this is to prevent spam, it is pointless.  It just makes us have to retype our messages.  I can understand the function where if you type too fast or send messages quickly, the words turn from red back to grey over time, but every single time I type it is not the issue with red words nor spam.

Is it just me, why is it like this, and can it be changed?

Thanks.

Do you use the English alphabet? Perhaps certain characters from other alphabets don't show up because they're not supported. For example, you can't write in Arabic (in the Flash version, at least) because its alphabet isn't supported.

As far as I'm concerned, I've never had this problem.

Yes, I use the English keyboard.

Do you face that same problem in every device?

I only play on a laptop.

What are the specifications of your PC?

Also, you may be experiencing keyboard ghosting.  Have you tried with an Anti-Ghosting keyboard?

I don’t experience keyboard ghosting in game, nor when typing anywhere else.

Its just that when I type quickly letters go missing.

From your given information, it seems that the problem is with the hardware and not TO. I would recommend trying an external keyboard to see if the problem repeats.
