Inside the Crypt: Part 1

Disclaimer: This is a story that takes inspiration from the Newspaper article: Do Admins get Incinerated? Instead of being at the Newspaper press, however, it's inside something, much further away...

Plot: After discovering a document that dropped out of Hazel's pocket after lunch break, Detective Towns finally decrypted it after 4 years, which would've paid a crucial role in updates in those times. Now, he has pinpointed the location of the Crypt (it is found in coordinates to be kept secret). He's trying to find why that document would've paid such a role in the updates that time...

It's a dark, stormy night inside the city of Perm, Russia. But inside that city are some developers who created a once-popular game. The building is what they call "Tanki HQ", but because the layout of the HQ is extremely large, we call it The Crypt. It's so large that when Marcus first came to the Crypt, he got lost on his way to where the designers (including Hazel-Rah, the lead designer) work. What makes the Crypt so confusing is that it has a large "archive" of designs and ideas that they once had. I'm code-cracking Detective Towns, with my team of advocates: Small Ruler and Zekrom the Victini. We're going to raid the building known as the Crypt to find ideas from when the updates once started the community to expect that Tanki was going to die in 2020.

So, we're going to need to go to the right place. We're looking for 1-50 Tankionlayn Dvadstatdevyat Mesto. Since we're going to raid the place, it's important where we need to look for that exact address, or we're not going to know what we're looking for. It seems like forever since Tanki Online has been launched. But, truth be told, they launched it from a VPN, so it seems to have come from Oslo, Norway. So I never found the Crypt until now.

To be successful, we need to be in and out stealthily, so we have extremely stealthy suits made out of rubber that have a polypropylene lining because the air temperature outside is -12 degrees Fahrenheit. As we head towards the Crypt, we see some workers coming from the car park outside it, so we run and hide in some kustarniki (bushes) nearby. After the car goes past, we hurry towards the Crypt like ninjas. After fifty minutes after setting out (twenty minutes being spent in bushes because workers were heading home), we arrive at the main entrance of the Crypt. The entrance seems to have quartz pillars hanging down from it, which is unusual for a building in this area considering quartz is extremely rare and expensive in these areas - it costs five thousand Russian rubles for a kilogram of quartz! So, after sneaking in the door, we head towards the room that says: "Restricted area, Authorized personnel only" on the door.

After heading through that door, we navigate ourselves around to the archive. I have never seen so many cabinets of document file folders in a similar-sized area in my life. It's so big that even every year has a group of cabinets. We head towards the "2016" section, which the note was believed to be from. After translating the binary code, I could confirm that it was from the 2016 section, so I head over there. After checking over a thousand files, I come across the folder that is labelled July 14. The letter coding on the document seems to match the letter coding on the other document, leading me to think it was a very large operation, that this file had been part of. When we try to leave with the file, we hear someone say: "Where do you think you're going with that?". We turn around, terrified. It was Hazel-Rah.

To be continued...

Approved.

Excellent story! The plot was well developed and incited a decent amount of suspense with each step that the detectives made. It's definitely shaping up to be an eventful series. As you develop future pieces, though, make sure you pay special attention to your commas. Sometimes, your comma placement causes confusion due to the awkward breaks. Overall, it was a great story and I can't wait for more!

Edits:

Spoiler

Spoiler
  • Comma fixes
  • Spelling ("gonna" to "going to"
  • Spelled some numbers out (typically smaller numbers)

An amazing story. Had me reading through it all! I really liked the plot and the way you are driving the story. ?

However, I would like to point out two things:

1) Try to take things slow. Its more fun reading it when its going at a regular pace.

2) Try to add more descreption to how places look. If possible, give them a Tanki Online *tint*. Like where you described the Crypt, you could have added stuff like 'When we entered we saw a huge statue of Hazel at the centre and a Tanki Online logo shaped chandelier hung down from the ceiling etc'.

Overall, you have penned down an amazing article and I am interested to see where this goes!

1) Alright, I probably didn't take things slow, because I was writing this article at 12am lol

2) Ok. But I'm not really bothered to make replicas of places because I'm not that good on photo editing.

Thanks for the feedback!
