What would make the HTML5 version awesome FOR YOU?

I've been playing with HTML5 on Chrome for a couple of months now. This is my list of things that I miss from Flash, going from more annoying to less annoying:

  • Browser crash after few battles
    As I reported before, there is a huge memory leak causing the browser to lag and finally crash. I must reload every 4 or 5 battles to avoid this. I doubt that most players suffering this issue realize that they are running low of memory.
     
  • Notifications not clearly visible
    To see notifications on the event log I must move my sight from the center of the screen to the right, and try to find the interesting event in the fast scrolling list. Particularly on CTF, I cannot instantly tell if a taken flag is ours or not. It would be nice if notifications are moved to the center of the screen and flag icons blink when flags are taken.
     
  • PRO battle list in russian
    It is very hard to find nice battles due to battle names being stated mostly in cyrillic. I know I can type a map name in english and search for it, but I am interested in finding battles *other* than Serpuhov, Silence or Noise. It would be nice to have an extra column with the map name in english (there are space for it).
     
  • Garage loading is too slow
    When I enter the garage in the middle of a battle I lose too much time (specially in battles with few participants). Due to this I actually avoid to change equipment in middle of a battle unless last resort.
     
  • No chat after battle ends
    The post game chat is a very important social moment, where you salute your friends, congratulate your team, say gg or get involved in bannable activities. You should be allowed to chat for a while after the battle ended.
     
  • Chat text too big
    I noticed that most players complain about text being too small. But for me, player names, chat and event log text is too big. Really too big. I guess that screen size and DPI are more involved in this than player preferences, but clearly the current font scaling is not good for most players. It would be nice to add a font size option in preferences.
     
  • Health bar too big
    The health bar (and the player name) on other tanks is so big that I can see where they are even when they hide behind obstacles, because I can see the player name over them. This makes impossible to surprise opponents from the other side they were expecting.
     
  • No player menu neither in chat nor scoreboard
    There is no way to add friends or block players in battle. But I specially miss the "vote" option, currently reporting someone is very annoying (you must type the /vote command with exactly the player name which you are not allowed to copy and paste) so nobody does it.
     
  • Friends not highlighted in scoreboard
    I don't play against friends, because they get angry when I kill'em. Being able to see if the enemy team has friends on it is important to me them.

Hello, I don't think anyone mentioned this: when you play with freeze and try to shoot at two players at once the system becomes confused and deals no damage. Also a similar issue occurs with railgun: when you shoot through multiple targets it will not deal damage to all, only to those tanks which have been highlighted in red.

The HTML5 Client really makes me mad because for whatever reason, there is no garage showing on my screen, no tank, nothing! The HTML5 Client also lags WAY more than Flash. The HTML5 Client doesn't feel natural at all, the way to reach the Battle List is inconvenient. The new rank icons are too small and ugly compared to the original. Everything about the new version looks worse to me and  this is why I feel the Flash version is superior over the HTML5 Client. Unless you have a really powerful PC, which IMO what TO isn't known for, considering how unpopular it is right now, this is what I personally think. Clearly doesn't live up to its name, unstable, loads too long, and just worse than Flash atm. I couldn't care less about new Skins or the Ares hull.

There is too much bug and glitch in the HTML5 version. For example, every time I appear in a game, I self-destruct for no reason, and it's annoying. Also, for a while during the games, I do no damage to the opponents, and the only way to solve this is to refresh the page, and this is annoying.?

I think the game should correct bugs to make the game more fluid.

1- html version tends to work a bit slower than flash like when entering the battle it takes longer time 

2- the position marker must be removed as it goes against hornets speciality

3-  all the loot boxes are way too bright especially the gold boxes which makes it look odd

4- the special missions must be changed cause what's the use if you  get crystals on ranking up and then again get crystals from special missions ( a light change may be better I guess)

Two things I hope will come:

  • Higher kill-zone in the sky (or possibly eliminating this feature altogether)
    • It is significantly lower when playing on HTML5, when compared to the Flash version
    • It is annoying that some parkour tricks are just limited due to the height (Long jumps are much more difficult)
  • Spectator Mode capabilities

In HTML5 We get too much high brightness while in I play without dynamic shadows and dynamic lighting because I think that we can't see alot time to high brightness . I think you can help us from making all graphics settings which are in flash version .?

There are a number of reasons why i prefer flash

1. It loads quicker than html and so u are more likely to be the juggernaut in battles.

2. u cant add friends or vote people just by clicking on there name and selecting the option in the html version whereas u can in flash.

1) View Alterations and Upgrade level in battle:

Pressing V or R to view the alterations and upgrades of enemy tanks is missing in HTML 5. I want to be able to see this while in battle.. not pressing TAB and searching the name of player.

2) Remember Log-in id and pwd of my accounts so I can easily switch:

On Log-In screen, in Flash version, I could easily switch between accounts If I enabled "save id and remember pwd"  Does not work in HTML 5.  

3) Accessing Missions while in battle:

While in battle , I want to be able to access the Missions, to see the progress. Helps in some cases like "collect 15 speed boxes" to know how many more I have to collect.

4) Map name and Battle Options and rank limit columns in created battles list: 

In HTML 5 user created battle lists, "Name" column does not always reflect map name. On top of it... most of the names are in Russian. Add columns for "Map Name", "Battle Options" (xp or bp or standard or xp/bp). Also I want to see the "Rank limits" for each battle on battle list. I do not want to click on each battle where it is currently available. Rank limit is important for me to chose to join any battle. 

5) Annoying user experience: 

From home screen click on four squares to take you to Battle List screen. At bottom right there is "More Options >>>"  text. I want to be able to scroll right using mouse. Currently I have to use keyboard and use arrow key to scroll right to get to Assault battle which is annoying. I use mouse to navigate mostly.

6) Re-spawn after entering Garage:

 In Flash version, when my tank is destroyed, I would (if needed) go to garage and change equipment and then exit garage to enter battle. Only then my tank re-spawns and i am ready to go. In HTML 5, by the time I re-enter battle from garage, my tank is already re-spawned and Firebird is already burning my poor unattended tank.  Sometimes, I am already killed while I am in garage as I can see from TAB, my deaths increased. Bottom line, allow me to make changes to my equipment between destroy and re-spawn without further penalty of deaths.  

7) How to know If I have latest version of UI?:

  Is there update button somewhere for UI. How do I get the latest changes or bug fixes to UI? Does it happen automatically?  

?Provide Themes, Icon packs, customization of each screen, Fonts. Stop working on bushes:

 OK in last v-log we saw amazing bushes / plants / trees. Personally, I think, it was a lame attempt to tell us how busy you are and how hard you are working on "something". yeah "something" that no body cares or wants. Instead, how about providing Themes, Icon packs and allow us to customize each screen and Fonts etc.  Customization, Customization, Customization... why should everyone have same look?

That's it for now folks.... 

Lastly, I appreciate this attempt to collect opinions from players. Hope you implement at least few and not ignore them. We are taking time and effort to provide them. So show some value.

Maybe someone have already said this but I want developers to add marks of explosions of mines and bullets. In flash version, I often use these explosion marks to find where Magnum’s shells land and where mines (planted by mortar alteration) are hidden.

I think that most people are used to the flash version and it just feels natural to them. The camera movement, interface, texture and it feels more like we are actually an tanker. Whereas in the HTML 5 people are not getting that feeling of a tanker. So people prefer the Flash. In my opinion if you guys could make the HTML interface more like the Flash version then more people will prefer the HTML.

HTML VERSION needs :

1-Clan TAG on the Nicknames Players if they have joined a Clan

2-Friends MUST have a different color 

3-Garage access slow , sometime after the change we blow up 2 seconds later , sometime not , very confusing !

4-Need to check not only Profile of Player but also the Clan TAG 

5-During the game not possible to check Player profile !

There are a fair number of things that could use improvement:

  • Tank self destructs at unexpected times, close to once per game for any of the following reasons:
    • Often upon entry into a battle
    • When jumping from one level to another
    • landing on an enemy tank
    • landing at an unusual angle on a ramp.
  • Fonts are too small (unnecessarily in most cases)
    • Under MISSION in daily missions, an example of too small is "Score Points in Siege 0/300" .  This could be 2 or 4 points larger given all the room you have and make it easy to read.
    • Same graphic box shows crystals as the reward, but the number is sooo small that I literally can't read it.  Suggest increasing the size of the box that shows the crystals and the font by 4 to 6 points.
    • Increase font size on all of the text for the Challenge missions also.
    • Fonts also too small under settings, across the board.  Should be at least 2pt larger, if not 4pt.
  • Control settings options were reduced for HTML5.
    • Insufficient options for use of supplies and overdrive.  Under the only flash setup you could assign up to 3 keys for each of the supplies, and now it is just one.  I like having options on both the key pad for my right and and on the regular keyboard for my left hand.  Also, the icons for this are too small as is the associated text.
  • Garage Paints
    • Flags or symbols for sorting paints are too small, without labels so they really don't make sense.   
    • A text search capability for paints would be very helpful.  
    • Consider adding a rareness score to each paint, so for example if there are 300 paints in the game and Ancient dragon is most rear it could be labeled 1/300.  Or you could have a percentage of tanks that have it in their garage (0.0025%).  Just some thoughts.
    • Eternity paint shows up twice in the garage as both "Special" and "Epic". 
  • Player Profile
    • Some stuff still requires Flash.
    • Consider awarding special badges, etc. for key milestones.   For example I will in just a few days have a complete set of all of the turrets that are all M7-20 to go along with the complete set of hulls that I have previously upgraded to full m7-20.  
  • Missions
    • Under the new "special" tab, I clicked on the "complete" for Rank up and it took me to a Quick Battle.  
    • Too many missions are about doing a number of damage points to enemy tanks.  Suggest getting away from that type of focus on other things as a fair number of player like paying different combat styles, like those that use isidas for healing teammates.  
    • The twice a month missions was a step too far.  The prizes are not sufficiently interesting with it broken into shorter mission groups.   Additionally, while I've been willing to spend some money on Tanki (maybe $10/month) in the past this was too obvious of a money grab and has caused me to stop buying Premium and the Tankions to purchase Battle Passes.   If revenue hasn't started dropping in March I suspect it will in April because of this...

Also there s another problem.When you type z to make a tank moving to the right it says w in the command chat.This means you need to press w to use z to turn the weapon.To resume quickly w and z are inverted.Can you fix this please?

1.  First of all the lobby

2.  Then the camera movement

3.  Then comes the battle button and the modes button beside it. it really need to be changed like in flash and all the battle modes be seen separately. an alternate way is to just lock on the mode we choose, i recently went to a battle in the ctf mode and (got disappointed from the camera?) then i clicked the continue button and it suddenly got me into the rugby mode i didn't know where it came from but when i examined the case i found it was changed to the quick battle mode.?

another thing i dont like about the html5 version is the saturation...it looks so bright and colors dont seem to match or blend with each other...if u can fix it it'll be playable

The HTML 5 version (the client) is too laggy & hence impossible to play. I think that's because HTML5 version requires better system requirements than the flash version. In fact, HTML5 version is not for low spec PCs. I think you should optimize the HTML5 version, so that it can be played in any low spec PC that can run the flash version.

I don't know how much a net connection affects transition from battle to garage or not but as I remember in old flash version was instant.

On the contrary in HTML5 version is much slower and that is a major issue between winning or losing a battle. Try to fix it please.

WELL.I think that HTML5 version is good but you can make it intresting by adding like:1. add an option to get 4 missions per day by spending tankkoins. 2.add a pass which could be royal pass allows u to get containers faster in weekly missions.

IF this is a true......so it is a good reason to quit tanki forever.....and if they dont fix it soon....it will happen!!!!

Lets begin with the most  important things :

-We need a decent full screen mode. Would be cool if it was 'O' , but 'O' ONLY. By pressing it we would be able to apply and disapply the Full Screen Mode. I guess you guys know already that 'ESC' for disapplying the Full Screen Mode is NOT  a good idea. 
-We need a faster loading system. 
-We need the ability to see people's GS, protections and alterations by pressing 'R'.
-We WANT a better in-game clan page system. With customizable clan page(in-game). the ability to add screenshots, easier coloring of the text,  But I'm sure you guys have some cool ideas too.
-The colors of the chat(not in-battle chat) are ... I don't like it. 
-The battle list is horrible. When I click to a battle tp check it, it shows the battle on full screen, which means that I can't see the battle list anymore. When going back to the battle list, it shows it to us from the beginning, that's just terrible. We want something more similar to the old battle list. It's hard to play pro-battles in HTML5. 
 
 
 
What would be cool? 
-photo mode in parkour battles. 
-better administration
 
I guess that's it.

The core fun of Tanki Online is the gameplay experience and the camera is a big chunk of the experience. Moving to HTML5 shouldn't feel like a transition when it comes to the gameplay. Sure the UI updates in HTML5 do wonders and something players can get used to but the camera is something we haven't been able to accept. I'm surely not alone as seen from the responses.

  • Fix everything related to gameplay experience and make it the exact copy of the experience in Flash; the camera movement, behavior & default position most importantly.
