What would make the HTML5 version awesome FOR YOU?

What HTML5 Needs:

- Ability to click on names in battles, in order to copy/vote/look at their clan profile/add to friends

- Save battle information. In Flash, if you select a battle but not create it, you can still go back to it if you click away, and it is saved (not the case in html5)

- Ability to see Alterations

- Taking away the supplies icon in no-supply battles (for example, XP/BP)

- See total number of days in clan

- Add gifts

Otherwise, nice job!

I am only playing Tanki Online on the HTML5 version of the game. I have abandoned Flash since, HTML5 was released, when V-Log 222 was live and new. That's ages ago now. Are there any HTML5 updates now?

Here's what I would like to see.

General UI:

1. Make the camera like in the Flash version. I get that you want the camera to be the same for both mouse and keyboard, but I have to say that, as a keyboard player, I find it really hard to aim with the new camera. To quote @lolmato75, "there are/were two styles of playing for a reason".

2. Put the buttons/status (leave battle, garage, crystals, missions) back at the top of the screen, like they were in Flash. This goes especially for crystals, stars, and missions; I really want to be able to see those.

3. Return Gold Box / Juggernaut notifications to the top of the screen; its hard to see them on the side, and I like to play with the volume muted so that I can concentrate better.
Make the end-of-battle scoreboard more similar to the Flash one; this isn't Brawl Stars, I don't need all that data on my tank, I am only interested in how many crystals/stars I and my teammates got. All that other stuff (especially the graphic of my tank) is useless.

4. Get rid of the lag between joining a battle and leaving the home screen, it sometimes lasts as long as 10 seconds.

5. Make the in-battle garage like the Flash one, so I can change equipment faster during battles and not get surprised by a firebird when I respawn.

6. Make the PRO battles battle list like it used to be in the Flash version; it's really hard to navigate the new one.

Gameplay:

1. Make the flag-symbol flash when a flag is taken in CTF, like it did in Flash.

2. Make it so that you can pick which map you end up in when playing Matchmaking. I personally think that making a battle list for MM battles would be a good way to implement this. I am not saying that you should get rid of Matchmaking; its a good feature. All I want is to be able to pick my battles without resorting to the (painfully anemic) PRO battle-list.

3. Add more maps to matchmaking!!!! I am sick and tired of having to play the same set of maps over and over and over again. I would especially like to see maps like Temple and Berlin, I used to really like playing on those super-long range maps.

General nit-picky problems:

1. You really need to use Bootstrap. Its not a deal-breaker, but I am tired of having to constantly change the browser magnification on smaller computers. In other words, not everybody has a 25'' monitor.

2. Make it possible to buy product kits for crystals in the garage again; not all of us pay-to-win.

3. Another pay-to-win vs. free-to-play thing, you really need to make it possible to buy containers for crystals.

- Camera is not same like Flash and it's weirder in HTML5

- When searching for maps in Battle list, it's hard to find your favorite battles. For example most of the battles are created by russian players and written RU. But in Flash

version you can see the other side the name of maps as EN. I also like Flash version Battle list green color. And Blue and Red side colors for battle teams not showing in HTML5.

- After leaving the battle, you directly go to the garage instead going to Battle list. So if you leave the battle and you want to join back or change to other side, you go to the garage and it might take you time to find the battle you left or someone else joins. Going to garage after you left the battle is bad idea.

- V or R not working to see tanks stats in HTML5.

- In HTML5 mip-mapping graphic is missing which would have make the battles of HTML5 look really cool, just like Flash's.

- In my opinion Flash is way better than HTML5, like when shooting your turret and driving the tank are different. Especially Railgun, when shooting it's different and sometimes it has no hit points (i am not talking about spawn protection) or the shoot doesn't hit the tank somehow.

That's my opinion of HTML5.

Just keep the FLASH version.

Thank you

Tell that to Adobe, this is something Alternativa can't control. The Reason Why Alternativa is killing Flash version, is because Adobe is killing Flash as a engine if that makes sense.. Just search on Google: "Adobe Flash shutting down date"

I'm not using the new HTML5 version as it runs incredibly slowly on my imac, which is an older version (model 21.5-inch, Late 2009  / processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). I really enjoy playing the game, but will not be able to continue playing if I can't get it to run smoothly on my old mac. Any suggestions or advice (except buy a new computer!) would be most welcome.

This is your fault.. as you have bought an iMac in the first place.

My concerns are probably already addressed by others in this thread but I will still write them here.

Why I don't use HTML5:

  • Both the html5 client and browser crash after 1-2 battles. Both saturates my computer's RAM and always crashes after ~10 minutes, regardless of anisotropic filtering. I am unsure of what causes this but it dosn't happen in the flash. Also, flash allows me to have PING <100 and FPS >50, while the html5 client will quickly bring me to PING 100< >300 and lag spikes every 10-20 secs
Spoiler

Here are how both flash and html5 use the computer's RAM when they are the only major program running on my computer

Flash client

XPbi4yZ.png

Html5 client

qIiqzSq.png

  • V and R with same function as before, or a system which allows to obtain the same information
  • Options on each player names - profile, copy name, ignore, vote options
  • Transitions between missions, menu, garage, game, etc. are annoyingly slow, especially to the flash client's instant window changes

Things I care less about (in order):

  • The camera lag when turning - although this change is very frustrating for me, I guess I could get used to it...
  • Option to remove the red contours when aiming - completly useless with most turrets I use (gauss, thunder, vulcan, striker)
  • The chat is a overlay, not background (eg. can't access it in the garage) - although this dosn't impact the game, it will massively reduce social interations
  • Battle chat on endscreen - super convenient for friends&foes
  • Notification when micro-upgades are completed
  • Smoother switch between accounts in the client - Flash is not exactly better, but I wish it was the case

Honestly, if my first point is not solved, I don't think it I will be able to continue playing after the end of flash.

⏬IMO two new feature can make HTML5 one step above Flash:⏬

  1. Usable Joystick ?
  2. Clan sticker on the tanks ?.

Descriptions:
1>> Take your Joystick and lie down on your bed and let your laptop or PC be in a corner of your room. Play with joy and comfort, No need to worry about your eyes being tired because of staying close to screen.<<1
2>> Our clan [TIGER] Sticker looks way stylish despite I saw a beautiful sticker on his tank which looking like a knight, belongs to "GO PRO" clan.<<2

============================================================================================================================================================

.?How to use old Camera setting in new HTML5, it makes me feel dizzy!, especially using railgun?.

- The long time of "hold on" after that MMS has found a battle. But you need to be held-on for 1 min then it lets you to play.
- Joining events was way easier in flash, now it is more steps of clicks.   (I found a way to join fast)
- No landcracks: that is especially when a magnum with mortar alt shells hit the ground leaving no trace. an other ex. is the wasp bomb has no trace.
        https://youtu.be/GgSmeO8X_wY
- Self destroys me who? I think the "Anit-Cheat" system leading to have no damage effect.
- No tabs for gifts.
- Dizzy camera.(solved)
- No ignore option.
- The client version: needs to always log in for every alternative accounts, It doesn't save the accs. (For that reason, I still use flash)
- One key assignable for overdrives and other supplies!. It was 3 assignable.
- The main menu (main screen): the camera always rotates fast(slow is better) and will not stop for a few seconds by clicking on the tank. (new update)
- In the garage menu: by scrolling over Items the Tank rotates too; And sometimes it needs to be stopped for seconds by just clicking on the tank itself.
- Adding the "O" key again will make life easier.
- Alterations was visibile by "V" key. Now how can they be seen.
- On the battle log: It doesn't show with its especial indication for each action in the battles such as: Taking flag, returning flag, passing ball and etc. I
used to seeing only the indications. That way was faster to understand battle actions.Scroll down to reach the "HUD Indicators" then under the "Completed Objectives"
- Spectator comments are not shown in HTML5 specially in events needing it the most. (Has been solved)
- Moving mission slots. (Today I lagged and double clicked the completed mission so the the remaining one moved under my mouse pointer and
          changed unintentionally(-_-)  )
- Make changing equipment more intuitive.
- add "M" key to switch to mission tab.
- add additional assignable key to activate or deactivate chat bar. other than "Tab" key, or make it activated by hovering over right end of the screen            and deactivating by just jumping the mouse pointer out of the box of the chat bar. Or decrease-able and increase-able chat frame.

+ It never gives fatal errors. Thus no more throw-outs which is the best part.
+ Now the main menu includes the garage view.
+ Aiming is helpful, It shows whether your shot will hit by highlighting the tank in red outlines.
+ No more long waiting times for finding another battle after battle. But it itself doesn't let you see your mission is done or not. making it a pop-up
notification of how far it has been progressed and the remaining progress will help a lot.
+ The radar!!!
+ Joining events are the same in the flash with just one more step and that's the "Tab" key to hide the chat.
+ Now spectator comments are shown.
+ New garage
+ Old camera returned back

Tankionline is flash, it was created for flash and they achieved a very good game, very stable and with very practical characteristics.

You want to create a new tanki, but what you are doing is destroying the old and original tanki, the game that many of us have known for several years. Many players are gone, and most will leave if you remove the flash version.

The new HTML5 tanki must have another name because it is a new game, it is totally different from our dear and old Tanki in flash. If they remove the flash version Tanki dies.

If something is not broken, why look to fix it. In HTML5 make a new game, with a new name, and play who likes that version and type of game.

I will never play in HTML5, Tankionline its FLASH.

I think that if we are allowed to buy all the kits with crystals just like how you are with tankoins, then i would be satisfied with the new HTML5. (Sometimes there aren't any kits in the showcase too.)

Whenever i go to delete my PC cache with the use of CCleaner, the game setting in HTML5 will be all reset.
And i have to remake my own favorite settings again.........That's why i really don't like to play with HTML5.

In HTML client

  • In CP battles, CP indicators decrease incrementally, but then stays blank til fully captured, at which point it turns blue.
  • Lag is terrible
  • Battle clock is not accurate (see lag above)
  • Switching to garage to change equipment takes *way* too long
  • Have Matchmaker avoid dropping into battles that have less than a minute left on the clock.  (especially since startup lag can be 10-20 seconds)

As someone who was expecting the new HTML5 client/browser version from the day it was mentioned (Around June), I enjoy playing on it more than the flash. But there is one thing I want to see in the new HTML5 version

  • Add a FPS limiter, some of us play on more powerful hardware and would like to play higher than the standard 60 FPS.

OK first things first the camera is very awkward, second, make this more potato computer friendly, third, make it feel more like the original version, and last (kinda unrelated) move the special missions for flash too

1. When a battle ends, it does not let the player to chat. ::F Implement a chat so it allows the tanker to chat with other players.

2. Every time the tanker clicks on a (non-pro) battle (just to see it), and then returns to the battle list. It sends them back to the top of the list. Which makes it hard to find the battle you want. ::F When returning to battle list, the tanker should be put where they clicked the previous battle.

3. The chat (while in battle), disappears way to quickly and the tanker can not read it because they are focused on the battle. ::F Make the battle chat last for a longer time period.

4. When clicking to play a MM battle the player is returned to the lobby (where the tank is shown). This means the player will have to keep returning to MM screen to change their selection (if they were to change their mind) ::F Keep the tanker on the MM battle picking screen.

5. The instruction to press "Tap" for the main chat should be on all screens. Not all players  know the chat is available on the screens other than the lobby. (I found this out as I was writing this).

6. *Not a problem, but will make it more organized*. Make categories for the drones, ex; Offense Drones, Defensive Drones, and so on...

7. When playing in MM battles, it does not allow you to keep track of your missions.

8. In "Capture the point", it should have a place where you can see which points are capped. Like it does in the flash version of the game.

9. When playing in (non-pro or MM) battles, it does not allow the tanker to vote players who are going against Tanki rules.

In chase you have read this, and know the answer to this question. Can you tell me where the old Tanki "How to use controls" tutorial went?

- Improving in map garage to change equipement faster when playing

- Change the pro battle list because it's realy not clear and impossible to find a battle

i Agree  we want Old Graphic  not This New One  and when you spawn please let Us see the Mines

I don't hate the html5 version, and here is why:

-The physics is similar to Tanki X's and I think this is much better

-I like the new interface,it is different, but also cool

-Mouse control is sooooo cool, I just love it thanks for that.

However, there are a couple of things I don't like:

-There are errors, at starting battles, simply opening the garage, or at the end of battles

-Unfortunately my PC still can't handle even the html5 client, only with small screen and 30-40 fps

-Some information, like a dropping gold box is barely noticable due to the battle interface

+I'm trying to use the new version, and it IS useable, it's defenitely not trash

+Also, developers should do these topics more often at bigger updates, I just hate seeing this awesome game fading away ?

It actually has this it is just sooooooo small like all the other fonts it is easy to miss.  It's in the middle at the top by the score, but the icons are about as big as this "o"...yep, super tiny.

I would like to see the information in the game for example '...captured the flag' up in the middle not on the left. And i think it's better to change the firebird mechanics bcs on html you need to hit the head of the turret to hit him, but on flash you don't need to shoot directly on their turret.

Many great suggestions here. I would like to include mine:

  • Self-destruction timer after I have changed an equipment.
  • To be able to view scoreboard after I have pressed the "delete" key. The self-destruction message box does not let that happen.
  • Capability to view players' alterations by pressing R or V.
  • It takes too much time to go to garage during gameplay.
  • It takes much time to change equipment. Categories are not user-friendly. Need presets just like it was in TX.
  • Scrolling by clicking and holding makes the tank rotate in garage. It should not be that way. Also, the garage "inside"  garage needs to be the same as that on the main screen.
  • Keyboard shortcut to exit the battle without having to exit the full screen first.
  • Keyboard shortcut to full-screen. Flash version has it set to O or F11.
  • The loading page looks blank. It should how it is like in the Flash version: showing tips, green in color, and a continuous bar not individual blocks. The current loading bar makes me go squint.
  • Keyboard shortcut to directly go to the home screen. H maybe? It is not feasible to keep pressing Z.
  • The scrolling of the challenges by clicking and holding feels weird. The pointer is not as much moved as the list does.
  • In-game notification boxes (e.g. battle invites, reward collection) taking less space on the screen. The time it takes them to disappear should be decreased.
  • Keyboard shortcut to go to garage from the main screen.
  • Returning to the battle list after being to the screen where battle details are returns to the start of the list. It should remember the position.
  • In the battle list screen, under the score column, it should show 3 things at least: the score of both the teams in different colors, and the score limit. Only the score which is greater is showed followed by the score limit.
  • In the battle screen, the name of the map should be shown. Players change the name of the battle (or when they are in another language), clicking for the details is inefficient.
  • In the battle categories screen, when scrolling by holding the mouse click and releasing the hold over a battle category starts the timer for a battle for that category, when the purpose was to scroll only.
  • The timer box that appears after clicking the play button hides the crystals underneath it. It does not feel right.
  • Menu for necessary options by clicking on the players' name during battle, not just friend's list.
  • MVP screen just like in TX. So three battle end screens: MVP (showing the alterations and gear score), your own tank screen (rewards screen), killboard.
  • The screen should go Red when the HP falls below 25%, just like in TX.
  • Spacebar to be the default key to select anything in the garage. While spacebar does equip turret/hulls, etc, but it does not open lists in the garage's main screen (turret's, hulls, etc)
  • To be able to highlight battle categories using Q and E, or arrow keys and spacebar to enter it. My mouse's scroll wheel does not work so I have the only option of doing the clink+hold thing. Using the keyboard allows to be faster.
  • If there is a discount on upgrades, it shows up only on the second upgrade button, not the first one which comes up when we go for selecting the turret.
  • Of course, we all know graphics are outdated. But we also know that the devs are working on it

I really wish the devs read my comment. I spent an hour writing it by opening the game in another tab and nit-picking at every possible thing I could imagine. Lol
