Tankoin kits unlocking early.

Is this normal? There are multiple kits in my garage that should not have been possible to buy.  For instance, Cyclops mk6 and Vandal mk6 kits(for tankoins) are in my shop, yet they unlock at Major and Lieutenant Colonel respectively.  My account is captain.  Is this intended?

Shop kits have always unlocked a couple of ranks earlier than their Garage versions. This is why you'll see that kits for Tankoins will be available 1 or 2 ranks ahead of their respective crystal versions.

I know.  This is according to the wiki.  Those kits(tankion versions) are supposed to be unlocked at major and lieutenant colonel, but I already unlocked them.  The crystal versions are still another rank higher, which I don't have access to yet.  Or is the wiki wrong?

After the update that changed m1-m3 to mk1-mk7 all the variations of turrets and hulls were combined to make the new kits that were the same for every mk. Wiki is wrong in one small aspect. Only that it says most mk"x" kits are unlocked at "X" rank. Example I am a Major and I just unlocked most mk6 kits. According to wiki I should not unlock them until Lieutenant Colonel. This has always been an issue with the wiki page for product kits. They have always said kits unlock one rank later then they actually do. This was the case before the update as well. Some kits were unlocked before you were "supposed to" unlock them. Sometimes it also works in the opposite way as well, kits do not unlock when they are "supposed to". This is why most people only use the wiki page as a reference to what they will receive in a kit and how much it cost rather than when it unlocks. I hope this answers you question.

Apparently, Mk7 kits (Tankoins) unlock at Brigadier.

Does anyone know when the sniper (Shaft Viking) mk6 kit unlocks for crystals?(Since the Wiki is inaccurate) I’m at major, if it unlocks at lieutenant colonel, I’ll wait, if it unlocks at colonel, I think I’ll get mk5 instead.

So according to the Wiki, it states that the Sniper kit unlocks at Lieutenant Colonel for Tankoins. I just went onto my alt at that rank and cross-checked it, and it turned out to be right, with all Mk6 kits being unlocked for purchase.

Judging by this, I can only assume that the Sniper Mk6 will unlock at Colonel, as stated in the Wiki.

I checked out the Shop as well, and while I can't say anything about the Sniper Mk6 Unlock Rank, I can say for sure that people at my Rank (Captain) can buy Vulcan Mk6 for sure. And because that's the same unlock rank as for Shaft Mk6 (two yellow stars), Sniper Mk6 should already be available to you (?)

 

   

So basically, it was a kind of waste to try to get as much as possible to Mk6 before the Modifications Update. Players can just buy Mk6 and therefore I have no "old player advantage" there. I would have been way better off upgrading my Firebird or Freeze Module to M2 10/10, but well...
