What's RFG?

Run/Race For Gold. A person drops a Gold box and everyone rushes out from the top platform and race towards the Gold box.

Maf, I know I’m being a bit of a jerk asking this again, but can’t you ask Hazel if the Crash/Gallery maps will ever return? At least for PRO battles only... pleaseee...

I actually miss those maps so much, and would even pay money to be able to play on them again. I know the devs returned Deck-9 and a couple other maps a while back. Me being overjoyed if Crash/Gallery returned would be an understatement.

Crash and Gallery were removed since the testing of the new props had ended. If I am not mistaken, Gallery didn't make a return since most props didn't function well: examples are the huge arches and the small blue outposts in the middle of the map. I think Crash also had some bad props, but I am not too sure.

Doesn't exclude the fact that they were really cool maps. It would be awesome to see a return of these maps, if not similar versions

Perhaps you're right, but then there's also 50% Magnum modules, which a lot of people use.

Either way the main reason for the removal of the bottom floor was the large amount of false anti-cheat triggers caused by people jumping down.

Didn't they update the anticheat on Cosmonautics Day 2017? That was the reason why Space Mode stayed in the game if i remember correctly.

Still don't understand why they changed madness.

The anti-cheat was messing with tanks. If you jumped from the top and shoot twice during the fall you would self destructed 100% of the time.
Plus the death ratio was terrible for nob players, but it was great a great map to learn how to jump.

The other game was to try to land on the pillar. TO mad many v-log challenge on that map.

Dev Logic:

"Ok now we are going to release space mode for all maps. Since space mode has a cool background and madness uses the same background, we are just going to get rid of madness"

Glad to see this topic getting attention. Keep it up and eventually somebody somewhere will see it or Tanki will have to inform us as to the why and how and what nots

Even if the old madness was added into the game I do not think much players will play it because they are so “busy” with matchmaking. It might be used as a parkour map instead.

The 2-level version was terrible for gameplay, because one team would just occupy the floor and instantly shoot up anyone trying to take back control. So in a long CTF match one team just had a constant line of flag deliveries, while the other messed around on top and occasionally shot at the enemies below.

It would be nice to have the old version back, but perhaps it should be a parkour-only map.

Yet all of these people have begged for the old map to be back. Why is it so hard to accept that fact that no matter how "terrible" as you put it,  it may have been, it WAS not an impossible map to play and win on.  And don't forget, CTF wasn't the ONLY format played on that map

Because ALL of the current maps are so wildly popular?   Seriously, with the exception of the Hammer of the Gods Community, no one plays the bulk of the non-MM maps.   HOTG does Throw Back Thursday after reboot and we play the old school maps.   Highways, Lost Temple, Scope, Gravity, Skylark and so on.   If Madness was there, we would battle on it.    BTW our Throw Back Thursdays are posted on our website calendar.  Yes, we have a website, and YouTube, and Twitter, and FaceBook.   Anyway.

No excuses.  Put the floor back in the map and lets grind some iron....  Or fall through the holes in the floor....?

Not because the MM maps are popular but because you can complete missions, challenges and every other new thing is added to MM like double battle funds and containers dropping in only MM battles so people just don’t join PRO battle maps like Berlin or scope easily.

And it’s easy for you to say, maybe you have a whole lot of friends willing to join and give a good start to the map. We play those maps too, but have to play like 15-30 minutes or even an hour for the whole map to be filled up to a considerable amount in those kind of maps.

And say old madness was added back, there would be a few battles in it but after some time or celebrations arrive it’ll be forgotten like the rest of the PRO battle maps.

The old maps are only forgotten because they removed them from the playing field.  Many maps get begged to be brought back the way they were.  As do many maps get begged to be brought into MM battles.  There are so many maps that could be rotated in MM besides the ones they currently use.

As for the magnums.  Madness wouldn't be any different than a Noise battle with magnums.  Maybe the setup for creating the maps for pro battles should allow a wider selection of "allowed" turrets or hulls by the creator?  It would seem Tanki Online only caters to specifying rail as a specific battle mode turret.  Why not Thunder, Smoky, Magnum or any other turret specific battle?

Bring Madness back the way it was.  We all know Tanki will never put it back in MM battles anyway.  So whats the hurt of having the so called "flaws" of the map if the players choose to battle on it?

That's the other part of maps.  The choice of map to battle on.  The removal of the players choice of what map they want to battle on for MM battles to finish missions is a very poor decision in my opinion.

Hammer Of The Gods aka HOTG
Find them, check them out.  They love the old maps.

Godamit, just add it the battle list available maps its ur problem to decide for all the players and no not parkour add it in all modes CTF, CP, DM, TDM. Etc... even if u add it and no one plays it, it will literally be out there just for the nostalagia

I for one love nostalgia. Breaks the monotony of the grinding for stars or missions on the same repetitive maps. These "older" or seldom used maps created in pro format with longer battles than just the 7 minutes, is always a nice change of pace. Gives you time to really learn a map as well as where and how to use specific turrets or hulls in certain situations.

I'm not saying I don't support MM or the missions and star challenges, but just stating it's nice to have options to keep the game experience fresh and not so routine.

Nice to see the Hammer Of The Gods (HOTG) in the thread speaking from their literally years of playing tanki.

Popular idea, i agree that it should be added back but it should probably be in pro battles only as it wouldn't work well in MM.

one of the reason tanki is annoying to play is cause the same maps come in mm again and again .the  old maps like esplande ,skylark ,canyon etc are really cool .(especially esplande)  most of them should be added back to the game

30 maps is definitely not annoying. Out of 80 it i more than reasonable, plus additional map pop up at special event and the rest are too small.
