Unintentional discrimination

Question

I have been informed by my fellow friend who told me that there was a ban that's specifically targeting curse words of some languages and happened to struck few of some who speak our languages that's interpreted as Russian curse word "[removed]" which equate to our language means "like".This of course has arisen confusion and unnecessary anger. I don't have an actual proof to this claim, but find it quite possible. I would like chat mods to have a good solution upon this matter as it is considered quite provoking and even racially discriminative to some. Just imagine you're talking in your country's language and suddenly banned just because you're speaking differently?...Hence I would like to end with a question. Have mods encountered this kind of situation before and if so what was the solution? Thanks

If someone believes they've either been punished unfairly or by mistake, they can always contact a chat administrator (depending on the locale in which the ban was issued) via Forum PM to resolve the matter.

However do note that chat mods are very well-trained and experienced (most with many years on the job), so the possibility of such an instance occurring is very unlikely.

Unfortunately the automated system cannot detect if it was spoken by a Russian or someone else. As it is mainly played by Russian, you better avoid this word. Especially as now you know that its use creates unwanted anger.
