Does anyone get RSI?

Recommended Posts

Today I played a DM battle.People joined, played and left.I stayed till the end.One of them was a Hunter Hammer with Dragon's Breath on.He had skills and a high GS.Not as high as mine, but quite high for people my rank.I constantly used Q and E to see him coming behind houses. After he left,I was over the moon because I hardly could continue.I got RSI in the last 15 minutes.Do eSports players or anyone at all get RSI ?Because I think that to be competitive you need to risk it.And if not,how do I prevent it?

I'm at university and many people spend most of the time on their computers/laptops. Therefor, awareness of RSI is widely spread among students and employees. Although I have not experienced violent physical complaints, my neck, back and wrists tend to hurt a little after working/gaming sometimes.
If you are often sitting in front of a computer you can get RSI. In addition to typing, work pressure and working conditions also play a role. RSI appears to be mainly caused by a short-term high workload rather than playing for too long. I assumed you have already looked up about RSI, but nonetheless, here are some measurements you can take yourself:

- Make sure your chair is at the correct height.
- Sit directly in front of your computer.
-  Do not game for more than six hours at a time and at least interrupt your session every two hours. It is also advisable to do exercises in between, even walking to the fridge can be enough, just dont sit behind your desk the whole time.
- Take enough breaks to relax your muscles/arms/hands/fingers/whatnot.

However, the best way to prevent this is not gaming for too long in the first place.

What's RSI?

It is short for Repetitive Strain Injury. That means an injury from a repeated load. RSI are physical complaints you get when you sit too much in front of your computer or laptop, such complaints are muscle and joint complaints on the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and/or neck.
These complaints can occur when you are either working or gaming frequently.

On a certain website called Google you can search for more info about it

Ah, understood now.

Yeah these are relatable. If you are gaming a lot, then it's best to take a good break, go enjoy the out doors, such and such. If it's work related, and you are needed at your desk, you could at least try to get in some stretching.

The only way I know how to treat RSI properly is giving your body rest to heal. You can have the best keyboard, mouse, chair, medication, braces, physio etc but nothing will beat time off. Take care and battle another day.

making sure your chair is at the same height and the screen is at eye-level is already a huge help. The way to prevent RSI or to reduce complaints is to make a relaxed environment for you to work/game in, some exercise or even stretching your arms can be enough most of the time. Having many complaints can cause some serious physical issues later when you are older. Take good care of your body
