If you had the capability of reversing a single update, which would it be?

My personal choice would be to reverse the update where protections had become unbound from paints.

A single instance I am reminded of is the Masters of Parkour 2015 paint which had given a special 30% protection against both mines and Railguns, a combo only obtainable through winning the contest, yearly.

I would make the turret freezing effect of enemies the same as before when an enemy is being freezed by freeze(or at least reduce turret rotation by 75%). It’s too hard to kill enemies otherwise.

Where we could play Wasp/Hornet Fire during a Celebration with friends in Private Map and filling the map with golds. So basically earning Exp in Private Maps again.

MM update

You mean adoption/implementation?   So give it Das-Boot?

For me it's OverDrives.  They are just ridiculous.   (close second would be MM)

Overdrives, MM, Flash to HTML5. I think the paint separation update was detrimental to the community, but was a good decision overall. Honestly they could give away the Garage skins and nobody will use them; it's all about the animated paints now.

I've created so many accounts after "rebalances" to start fresh again.

You would cancel an amazing convenience update just because it caused you to lose one semi-exclusive item? Come on.

That update was a huge improvement to the protections system, and so was the second one that separated modules into single units. I can't even imagine the rage from every single player if today developers suddenly announced that every paint has a set of protections tied to it, so if you want all the protection combos you have to buy ALL the paints ?

If I could revert an update, it would probably be drones. Their actual concept is quite interesting, but the price of purchase, upgrades and usage is... something else.

The new interface could use a LOT of improvement and it would be nice if it was closer to the one we're used to, but I'll let that one pass considering it's not fully complete yet.

There's no way I would just pick one update that I wish to revert. I mean I just cant, there are a lot of them that I think were a bad idea to add into the game in the first place. So I'll just list some that I really wish were reverted.

Release of Gauss turret: there is no turret that has crumpled up the gameplay much like the Gauss turret. This thing is a frickin hybrid of various turrets. One fast and powerful sniper shot that follows the stealthy lock on sequence that also delivers a large splash radius. An arcade shot that deals almost as much damage as a thunder with a smaller splash radius. It's no surprise that it requires little skill to to exceptionally well with it.

MK Update: this update completely wrecked balance in the low, and mid ranks. You could see a player with an m4 at a rank as low as sergeant major. Let that sink in, most players at that rank are still m0s, some are basic m1s, so a player with an m4 would easily annihilate them. Also understanding this whole thing is just a headache altogether. Honestly this update should never have happened.

Global Update of 2016: there are so many reasons why this update sucked, but I'll just list the reasons why I didn't like it:

1) it moved all M3s all the way to marshal rank, so unless you plan to buy a kit between brigadier and then, you would have to deal with higher ranks with m3s and m4s constantly pound on you while you're just an m2 for a very long time.

2) all hulls of the same weight class now has the HP. This was bad news for hulls that needed that edge over their rivals of the same weight class.

3) hunter and Viking swap stats. Hunter didn't need the extra weight, but Viking did. Only thing I would change here is let hunter have the acceleration advantage it has now.

Monthly Challenges:  this feature has turned players into selfish pieces of trash, which ultimately lead to ruining the quality of battles. Instead of contributing to their team, they're more worried about how many stars they can get.

I've never actually owned that paint or its protections. Another example is Veteran which lost its special protections and no person with the Veteran paint was compensated for it.

There are way too many paints and before this update, paints weren't just an aesthetic material of the game but had more meaning to them when they had set protections tied to them. This is my own view because I care little about aesthetics and more on rarity/speciality.

Changes to Daily Missions:

  • Now Daily Mission objectives can be only completed in standard (non-PRO) battles;

Before this update, it didn't matter to me how p2w this game, i could do missions in pro battles, i was m2 hornet rail in those days on my high account, had ~0 microupgrades, ~0supplies in garage, and still had a lot of fun in the game.

I could do missions in xp/bp mode. Those were the best days...

Those Desert DM xp/bp battles on RU1 server.... Polygon CP xp/bp...

They just disappeared after this mission update came.

Sure we get more crystals nowadays, but back in those days, one could go all the way from warrant officer 5 to Marshall with just hornet rail m2 0 MU, 0 supplies, and save for m3 kits. No need for spending crystals, drones, MUs, modules, supplies in the mid ranks.

Tanki lost almost 30k players within 4 weeks of that update.

When they removed Isida's self-heal.

Some dishonorable mentions, in descending order of how much I want to remove them:

Spoiler
Removal of Crystal Boxes
MM
Drones
Gauss
New Madness
Overdrives
2-week Challenges (How about they bring back new skins to the Challenges, make them 3 weeks long and 1500 Stars for the final tier, and have
a week of downtime after it's over.)
Siege (I mean, useless fluff modes.)

Veteran paint was never meant to provide significant protection. The 15% universal protection it was given was only there so that the paint wouldn't be completely useless in battles. Once paints were no longer tied to protections, Veteran players were able to use proper protections while still being able to show off their paint.

I agree there that there are too many paints - hardly any of them are recognisable anymore. But this is just due to the sheer number of them available in the game, rather than paints being tied with protections.

It's still publicly displayed in your Forum profile (if you do actually care so much so about it). As to why it's no longer displayed from the "outside" (i.e. by not opening one's Forum profile) and has been replaced with member reputation in its place, it's because the latter is (usually, in case of members with actual quality content) more relevant.
