Would you rather have a super elaborate paint, but everyone has it, or receive this one, and it will be significantly more rare, as the objective is much harder?

Personally, rare paints are better in my opinion, as they symbolize that you are a lucky and skilled player.

There are multiple different ranks that the accounts will come in, ranging from Staff Sergeant to Legend.

People participating in the event were randomly assigned a rank, so it is possible to find someone with the paint, regardless of your rank. It is evenly distributed, too. You have the same odds of coming across a Legend ranked player with this paint, as one with Staff Sergeant rank.

How do you get the paints? Do you just randomly get chosen and given this paint? And one last thing, is it gonna be hard for the Virus Destroyers to find a Virus?

Destroy the virus and you'll get the paint. The Virus tank will join battles randomly and will be hard to kill.

I don't think the contest itself is special, to chase after a hard kill just for a paint, but the storyline is EPIC.

Viruses (which will be special accounts created for this event) will wear the "virus" paint. If you manage to kill one of them, you will complete the special mission (which you can only claim from HTML) which will give you the "Sanitizer" paint.
