Tankers,

We have some very unhappy news to share with you. Unfortunately, what we have been fearing, has happened — the Flash version has let us down during a critical period.

As you know, today we kicked off a series of Missions, and some of you have already started making some progress on them.

For those of you who are playing the missions in the HTML5 or mobile version, there is absolutely no problem, and your progress will be recorded normally.

However, when we tried to extract the progress logs from the Flash version, the system failed and the data was lost. For this reason, we have absolutely no way of tracking any mission progress made in the Flash version.

So, to clarify:

Any mission progress you have made in HTML5 or mobile, has been tracked normally and you have nothing to worry about.

However, any Mission progress you made in Flash, has NOT been recorded.

Thankfully, you still have a number of days to complete your Missions. We know that might only be a small consolation, but regrettably this situation is completely out of our hands.

Given the current situation, we want to stress the importance of moving to the new HTML5 version.

The issue that happened with these Missions is only the tip of the iceberg. Adobe stopped supporting Flash many months ago, and so did all major browsers.

We are in a situation where the Flash version of Tanki is now a rapidly-sinking ship. We’re spending an insane amount of time and energy just to keep it from going under. And despite our best efforts, issues like the one that just happened, are going to keep happening, and we even expect them to become even more frequent. What’s worse, this is slowing down the development of the HTML5 and mobile version, preventing us from making important fixes and updates.

So, we urge you to move as quickly as possible to the HTML5 or mobile version of the game. We remind you that the HTML5 version offers both a web and downloadable version (which also takes advantage of dedicated graphics cards).

While we’re still polishing the HTML5 version, we’re confident that with your continued feedback we’ll soon be able to give you a version of the game that will be superior to the Flash version in every way.

We apologize again for this regrettable situation. We’re incredibly disappointed with what has happened. Unfortunately, even though we’ve tried our best, we’ve run out of options.

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Hummmmmm...Flash glitch, right....how could anyone question Tanki's honesty in all things?  They would NEVER lie to us players to advance their agenda

Even when Alternativa tries to be honest, people take it as it's a lie...

Ever hear the story,  The Boy Who Cried Wolf?   It too deals with credibility issues.

I understand flash is failing, but at least then fix the html5 issues and make it look exactly like the flash client if you expect people to immediately go to it. I hate to say this but the old ugly alpha html5 GUI looked better than this mess.

You fixed numerous things including camera everyone complained about, but it still doesnt look appealing to me. Its still not that flash-looking camera with alternate behaviour.

Sorry, but tbh I'd rather not have my missions tracked than:

1. Wait a full minute to load into a battle (flash is like 10-15 secs).

2. Not be able to see clan tag in battles.

3. Have to press tab and search the whole list of players for the one I want to know what alt he has.

4. Waaaaaaaay too much lag. I have less lag on flash client with all the graphics on than HTML5 with all of them off.

5. Also there is this bug in the HTML5 chat that when I open let's say general one, all the messages will suddenly crowd close together and overlap each other,  making it virtually impossible to read them.

Like I said, sorry, but the HTML5 is a long shot from being superior to Flash ?

Idk whether to believe that or not, but HTML5 version is just way harder to play on for numerous reasons, as people have said before and a couple were stated in this topic commented. They just need to fix the HTML5 version to make it more like the old Flash version, which is which everyone likes.

Just make the HTML 5 version look the exact same as the flash version. It is possible, don't act like it isn't. Just copy and almost paste every coding and there you go.

My idea in the how to make HTML5 better topic was to have like both options to choose from regarding the UI and camera
AKA Either choose The Flash UI ( named Legacy ) or HTML5 UI ( Modern ), it can also be the same with the camera

Hello for everyone , i want to say something about the html5 and flash versions . i think all tankers happy to play with flash verson ,bcuz flash version looks better than html5 . for example killboard screen in the game . Let me tell which one is looks better

Spoiler

html5

flash

Ask to 20k tankers , they can say of course flash looks better . Because flash verssion pratic and easy . and html5 version like a mobile game . ( i feeling like i playing tanki mobile , drive feels , shoot feels so different than flash

So if tanki designers can do ssome changes to html5 versions it's can be better for Tanki .

these are just my opinion but i'm sure %90 players agree to me

Regards

Well copying might break some things because its a new engine, but i think that having both choices of UI would be great since some people might like the newer one
Have it be like Flash UI ( named Legacy ) and HTML5 UI ( named Modern ), and if its possible maybe that strategy can be used for the camera.
This way, everyone is happy.

Doesn't work that way.

Nobody in their right mind would move from a version that :

1) is easy to read and understand

2) has lesser lag issues

3) takes 15-20 seconds for the battle or garage to load

to a version that :

1) is complicated to say the least

2) says "server connection lost" or "cannot load resources" or literally never loads and just goes back to the homepage almost every time i log in.

3)takes 2mins to load garage

Flash would be lovely to retund to ( since i have been using HTML5 since its release in September ), if there was not for the crashes. So having the ability to maybe choose between both UI's in HTML5 would be amazing, so if people wanna use the HTML5, they have that option, but if they wanna see or return to how Tanki looks in Flash, there is also that option too. Maybe even something like that for camera would make both parts happy.

No, the coding in flash and html5 is different... you have different commands, different things you can achieve, etc
