As I said, these were for Testing purposes and aren't supposed to be actual alterations.

The reason why testing couldn't be carried out with standard 50% Modules was because they already affect status effect protection (they provide 50% resistance to burning and freezing effects) and thus, they added these instead.

The icons you mentioned are what has been observed from the test server, not an official announcement. As Opex-Rah said, the hull alterations don't provide protection against damage, they just provide immunity against status effects.

Here's my main issue about this proposed hull alt update. The devs have two choices, assuming they will proceed with this update inevitably:

1. They make hull alts accessible to every player in the form of low, reasonable prices. Then Freeze and Firebird will never be used again. 

2. They make hull alts so expensive (like drones) that only people who have already completed the game or mega-buyers can purchase them. That's extremely unbalanced and unfair.

It seems that the way to tell if ridiculous updates are jokes or not in Tanki is to check if they benefit buyers more than non-buyers. After-burn protection benefits buyers, but a messed-up Juggernaut mode doesn't.

I don't think this will affect the Juggernaut at all. Even though Juggernaut's biggest weakness is a melee turret, Juggernaut isn't actually in anyone's garage, so nobody can buy alterations on that (I would hope).

True, but it's possible that they're changing the alterations model to one where the default item is often weaker, but with alterations you have to choose which kind of upgrade you want to get. Since you can't equip them all at once.

An item without alterations. Currently only applicable to hulls, but potentially also some turrets. Though there are exceptions, for example Rico, which I feel has the best parameters without alterations.

So stock...

Ricco is one of the few where stock really is just a variation - better in some instances than alts and not as good in other instances..

In the hypothetical model... the current alts would be 1) buffed even more  or 2) lose the negative side (lol for autocannon)   or 3) stock would get nerfed ?
