What Advantages Does the Downloadable HTML5 Version Have Over The Browser Version?

Playing on the HTML5 client, instead of the browser version,  is generally much smoother, as most files (maps, turrets, etc.) are saved in the cache folder, and remembered between each time playing on that version. The browser version, on the other hand, is forced to load these files in your browser each time playing the game, so it is usually slower.

I would suggest using either version; both have their pros and cons, so you can decide which ones you want to face while playing.

Chrome is a web browser that does a lot of other stuff in background while you're playing. So, that other stuff slows down your gaming performance. Also, Chrome doesn't have hardware acceleration enabled by default. But the game client doesn't have any of these problems and definitely smooth & faster than playing in browser

There is a problem with the HTML5 browser version (idk if it is specific to chrome). There is a kind of memory leak. After each battle, the ram is not cleared of resources used in that battle. So, after each battle, the ram usage keeps increasing. When the ram becomes full, the page will crash( the "oh snap" error) or the pc will freeze. This has been reported and will most likely be fixed. Then, the game won't "overload chrome" anymore.
