Please for the Love of God Kill the Railgun-Hornet META

I'm a Rail-Hornet player and, man, this comment scared me to hell. You're the worst player that I never want to meet in a battle as an enemy

I'm a Shaft player and, man, this comment surprised me to hell. This is the best idea I've heard in a while that I want to execute in a battle for sure. Take that @featwasath

Hornet Railgun has NO WEAKNESS. It is definitely OVERPOWERED.

"But the Hornet has low HP!" - That doesn't matter when the Railgunner is hiding behind a wall and only revealing himself for 1 second to fire. If you try to kill the Railgun, he'll retreat behind other cover with its faster speed.

Double Damage + Large Caliber Rounds + Hornet's Overdrive (ignoring enemy protection and Double Armor) = currently the most overpowered tank.

Let's look at other powerful high damage Hornet combos, which at least they have some weakness you can exploit:

  • Hornet Hammer, they require to get close so at least you can take hit them back.
  • Hornet Shaft, requires standing still for its best damage, so you can flank them.
  • Hornet Striker/Magnum, long reloading and clunky to use. Also can damage itself.

Hornet Railgun is the only one that doesn't have a weakness to exploit, as long as you hide behind walls and avoid direct confrontation which is easy with Hornet's speed and small profile. If you try to catch it with your own Hornet or Wasp - keep dreaming because he only needs 1 shot to kill you.

Another post by a hornet user, ok here is one for you. I would say at least 50% (at least) of battles won will have a hornet player sitting at the top of the leader board by quite a margin. The 3 main culprits being magnum,gauss,rail. 

Hornet players have had a unfair advantage for months, which is why i enjoy so much chasing you lot down and wrecking you a new one. 

Now i can only achieve this at the mid ranks (i'm general) because i have a great drone nearly maxed out. 

Without this drone my chances of going up against a decent hornet player of similar rank is vastly reduced.

Now i'm a decent player, but no matter how good you are, a hornet player will always have the advantage in most battles with an activated overdrive.

As for the 7 supplies, do me a favour and give your head a shake. GB, BATTERIES, and speedboost to a large extent do not count. 

Why hornet is despised so much is because of the ridiculous power it has compared to every other activated overdrive. 

It's OP and has been the cause of many topics and countless posts being directed against it's unfair advantage in the majority of battles.

There was 4 hornet players on enemy team. 2 rails, 1 smokey, and 1 thunder. This is my main goal now while in battle, poor thunder think i mullered him 3 times in that battle.

Simple answer is YES it fully ignores it, especially magnum which kills everything in it's path.

You know why the devs refuses to nerf Hornet despite it is clearly OP (in fact, it is one of the best, if not the best hull since it is released)? Because a lot of players and the so call "pros" (please, no one has the position to claim himself a pro in a P2W, easy to learn game.) love it. See how many "e-sport" matches have hulls limited to Hornets. If they nerf it I believe even more players will be complaining since they have used to the OPness of Hornet. Same goes for railgun.

 

BTW, even fast paced, short TTK competitive games (i.e. those REAL e-sport titles) don't dare to put an ultimate ability which ignores all kinds of protections, including spawn protection.

Why are you suprised? I think about 40% of the players use hornet as a main hull, so of course there will be many hornets, and thaz's why that chance to see a hornet  at the topis really big. Hornet was, is, and will be the most popular hull, and it was the most popular one before the overdives came out. It's not like vulcan was.

Being a hornet player is only partially responsible for getting a good score in battle. It's the overdrive that is the main reason, i doubt if you switched hulls your score would improve.

Well, there are some turrets what are good with hornet, some turrets are better with other combos. I have dictator mk7, and i can truly say that it's much bettet for rico. I don't feel hornet is OP, even when playing with other hulls. The reason for everyone saying HORNET IS OP! MURDER HORNETS! is that itvs really popular hull, so people get killed by a hornet most of the times (since there are a LOT of hornets. A lot. ). Also, some months ago, i've never seen anyone saying OP hornets on the forum, just one person started this disase, and now, everyone catched it. I don't say hornet OD should ignore spawn protiction, but it doesnvt need a HUGE nerf.

Ok have it your way, hornet is not OP and is just fine the way it is. Funny, all these diverse overdrives and the only one getting the majority of criticism is .............................i will let you figure out the last bit. It's not a coincidence, these anti hornet posts are based on what players like myself see in battle every single day. These are the facts and the devs have let hornet off the hook for months. By the way i would like to think i was a forerunner in the anti hornet movement. you've had it very good for far to long, it's time to reign in this OP hull and restore a semblance of balance at the very least with overdrives.

A player i can finally identify with, one difference, as long as the ranks are compatible i go after them regardless. I never let up and go after as many of them as i can. 

Even after any subsequent nerf i'm still going after them and will continue to do so until the end of time. They have had it to good for to long-it's payback, big time.

Then the question you should ask yourself is, why? Why is Hornet so popular in the first place? Maybe that's because Hornet is simply superior since day one. Have a look at Wasp, it is faster than Hornet, with smaller hitbox, and a OD that have the ability to instant kill. Why most players still prefer Hornet? Players are honest (and snobbish). The more powerful the equipment is, the more players like you are gonna use it and more extremely common. It is so common to the point that even the devs are hesitate to nerf it because they will receive even more negative feedbacks.

 

It is that simple.

 

BTW, your combo can almost guarantee one shot a heavy hull when your OD is on. Balance you say?

Don't talk about ODs, because hornet is not became popilar when the ODs came. Also, players could choose about wasp and hornet, but why did they choose hornet? Simple. Not because it was OP (remember, that wasp and hornet has the same health, but was has more speed), but because it was more stable than wasp.

You mean shaft? Well, to tell the truth, i don't like people who just see something about a someone, and instantly think that he is like that... I am using shaft with LC, and sometimes, i can't even oneshot medium hulls. Also, if i could, why is it a problem. If i chosse a longer reload for oneshotting heavy hulls, why do you mimd that?

No.

It's because there is absolutely no way to mitigate (counter) the one-shot kills I will suffer. 

All the other hull ODs have a counter.  Hornet OD - there is no counter. ("Killing" the hornet does not rate as a counter since you can't kill the hornet that just one-shot you).

And they have OD way more often than they should - since it lasts 20 seconds and they can generate a new OD while their current OD is active. Killing tanks is one of the best ways to generate OD - and hornet OD excels at that.
