"Heavy weight champion" alt. is OP and cool

The hull alteration that increases your hull's weight by a factor of ..god knows , it's the least boring thing I've ever seen in this game. Watching a Hunter user bully a MAMMOTH a few days ago was like watching a blockbuster movie, just needed some popcorn to go with it.

Btw this isn't actually a rant or anything, and as a matter of fact I don't think this thread serves any purpose at all. But yea that alteration is very, very interesting.

To me this alteration makes no sense. One major advantage of a heavy hull is the ability to push other tanks (defense). This alt ruins that.

Well if the heavy hull also had the alt, wouldn't it still technically have the pushing advantage?

Yeah, but these hull alterations are for buyers. Most players in the game are non buyers. If more P2W players get this alt using a medium or light hull it can ruin the defending aspect of the game. Really random addition to the game.

I agree that the weight changing alts should be made available in the garage for crystals but the other current hull alts should just be removed.

That alteration is the most underrated one at the moment. From what I understand, it basically gives Wasp the ability to drive through a field of mines at full speed while under fire from railguns, smokys and ricochets, with zero risk of being flipped or affected in any way (besides losing health). Combine that with upgraded Defender and a good set of modules, and you get a flag stealer with near 100% effectiveness, capable of being stopped only by some overdrives.

I have the added weight for wasp and I love it lol been playing with wasp alot more since i got the alt,so much fun pushing titans out of their dome(with a running head start).

Then pushing enemies off the map whether it be hunter or viking I rate it a 10/10 ?

Added weight should come with a penalty to speed. These augments are just dumb.

That's boring. Why not make them boost damage instead?

I'm surprised a "kill-all" button hasn't been added yet.

Oh hold on... maybe it has... it's the shift key on murder-hornets.

Sometimes, well technically almost all the time, "boring" parameter shifts make the most balanced alterations.

Shaft has an example of what a balanced alt looks like and what a broken one looks like. And the alts I'm talking about is SBE and RFM.

SBE is balanced because the arcade shots get a buff in damage but also a nerf in firing rate.

RFM is broken because it allows you to fire 3 arcade shots in quick succession, and the only the that gets a big nerf is the max damage of the sniper shot. Doesn't do much harm to the arcade shots, does it?

What about Light Capacitor?

Slightly UP now that I think about it. If you're deliberately cutting off damage, why doesn't the reload time decrease as well?

It actually does affect acceleration negatively, from what I've seen on the official wiki. But speed seems to to have remained unchanged, meaning that momentum is significantly boosted and thus so is the pushing power.

Now I'm curious, which hull will have the greatest momentum at top speed?

Acceleration is decreased. When starting to drive it takes longer to reach max. speed; steering/rotation is also slower, making it harder to make turns and braking is harder since your tank has more momentum. Then again, your tank is more stable and harder to push away.
All these factors do really change the mechanics of your tank, I tested out hornet with Heavy Weight on the test server and it takes quite some getting used to driving and controlling your hull. The change in stats really make it feel like the tank is much and much heavier.

Sounds like if I ever get it for my mk8 viking, I'll have to do a lot of testing with it before I decide if I want to have it equipped forever.

I would recommend that, yes. Especially with vikings drift; this alteration could enhance this feature even more.

A weighted Viking still seems to flip over easier than a weighted Hunter. I've tested both in Space Mode, not normal gravity.

Well yeah. Viking in general has less weight than hunter. So I'm not expecting it to have more weight than hunter. I just expect the alt to do what it says it's gonna do, that's all.

Then you can expect to push a regular Mammoth without the 'weight problem' augment.

Has anyone ever seen a mammoth with less weight equipped? ?

Yes. In an STG in NORMAL gravity. It was quite funny to see it flip high and over because of the mines. It was successful in parkouring for the gold.

It would be cool to use that Alt in an official STG Event. Pair a Viking with a Defender Drone and fly straight to the Goldbox lol. If you're lucky, you might even jump to the middle one in Highway (although that's probably exaggerated, but the flips would be crazy).
However, I haven't received any Hull Alt yet

idk why, but like right now i'm just thinking this thing kinda defies physics.

so if the weight increases while total power/force is the same, your acceleration and top speed should be lower. in other words, you should slow to a crawl instead. tanki should probably fix the power stat or make the hulls go in total slow-mo, because it's highly bothersome
