Hello, tankers!

 

With the server restart on May 22nd a new update will be released.
 

The major changes are:

  • Positive and negative effects indication (except the Flash client).

  • Changes of map rank limits in MM

  • Changes of rank limits of the items in the Garage

 

Status effects indication  — What is it?

 

Status effects fall into two categories:

  • positive:

    • overdrive readiness;

    • overdrive duration after activation;

    • immunity — ignoring damage after a respawn;

    • repair kit duration;

    • double armour duration;

    • double damage duration;

    • speed boost duration;

    • extra armour (e.g., the «Defender» drone);

    • extra damage (e.g., the «Booster» drone).

  • negative:

    • fire — a tank’s temperature is above normal;

    • freezing — a tank’s temperature is below normal;

    • EMP — stun and supplies force reload;

    • stun — a tank is not able to move (e.g. after Hunter’s OD);

    • self-destruction.

 

Status effects are visible to all players in a battle — for you, your teammates, and your enemies.

 

  • HTML5: positive effects are displayed above a tank’s health bar, negative — below it.

  • Android: you see status effects of your teammates and enemies only.

  • Flash: status effects are not displayed.

 

Changes of map rank limits in MM

 

This update will affect low ranking players only. The Matchmaking system will consider a player’s rank and choose only maps which are available for the player. You can check which maps are available for your rank on the Wiki.

 

Changes of rank limits of the items in the Garage

 

In order to improve the learning process for new players and to shift the focus on more important aspects of the game, we have changed the rank limits for supplies and the «Brutus» drone:

 

  • The «Speed Boost» (3) and «Mine» (4) supplies are now available in the Garage starting from the Sergeant (6) rank.

  • The «Double Armour» (5) and «Double Damage» (5) supplies are now available in the Garage starting from the First Sergeant (9) rank.

  • The «Battery» supply (6) and «Brutus» drone (6) are now available in the Garage starting from the Corporal (4) rank.

 

Other changes

 

  • There are a few changes in the characteristics of the «Defender» drone:

    • Effect duration time was decreased from 20 seconds to 15 seconds;

    • Now consumes 2 more «Double Armour» supplies;

    • The recharge time was decreased from 20 seconds to 3 seconds.

  • Optimized PC performance on the Rio map.

  • Few changes of the layout in the HTML5 version

Don't be so happy tankers. 5 seconds is't point of thing, And 3 pieces of Double armor.. Still got thousands of them, Enough to kill level booster Coward players beside Juggernauts, Those who Left battle after  their Juggernaut was dismantled into parts 3:)

Better work On level Boosters Who haven't spent single supply to win a round and reach Legends By only Lucky ping And Juggernaut..

True said, Now excuse me Gotta Dissamble some Cowardnauts into pieces ?

I am not sure if this is just happening for me, but I believe that Booster gives extra damage and Defender give extra armor. I noticed the same typo thing in today's event.

I am with you. I am not playing much now even in flash. I just do some missions and that's it. If I spend more than 30 min it will be an exception.  I get too many "an error has occurred" messages and it kicks me out of the game. This game is not worth playing any more let alone spending any real money! I just pity the fools that invest real time and money for something as unreliable and unbalanced as this game.  People , i am not trying to advertise anything, but if you want to see how a truly balanced MM system works try World of Tanks or World of Warships (my favorite). You will be amazed playing a balanced game with no more than 1 rank higher, everybody starts the battles at the same time, no lag and no "an error has occurred"! Oh, and they give you tanks and ships to try before you buy. Now I am sure that the almighty Mods will ban me from posting in the Forum because they do not like what I have to say, just like they did before!   But hey who cares? here comes another Sale!

same here, i tried HTML 5 & didn't like it, for me Tanki Online will always be a "flash game".

for a while now they only update the HTML 5 version (i do understand why) but it's not my problem, when the flash client finally dies, my career in Tanki Online dies with it.

The Flash is only really good for the in battle format. The HTML 5 version has a better garage and mission set up.

IMO, these status effects are just pointless. You could've improved MM and HTML5, which still needs improving. But you chose to work on status effects.

 

You really need to straighten out your priorities, because you're not making the improvements fast enough.

Well said. 

Tanki whines about how time spent keeping up Flash is preventing them from improving HTML but they have time to implement pointless new features into HTML instead fixing actual issues with HTML.

Work on HTML5 improvements and make it better.  Hell NO.

 

Work on pointless new features and put the blame of not getting much improvement into HTML5 squarely on to keeping flash alive.  Hell YEAH. Let's do that.

ah yes, but im sure you will be able to get all of this from the cash shop from recruit. "improve the learning curve" my ass.

Hey devs, why don't you do something that players actually want in HTML like having access to missions from within a battle instead of this fiddly trash like needless displays,

Though I appreciate the defender nerf, status effects are not only not what the community is asking for, but they are actively reducing the skill required to be successful in Tanki. Indirectly, that decreases the fun and interest in the game for experienced players, who you are already irking by leaving frequent bugs in an HTML5 version and not giving an option to have the look or interface capabilities of the old flash version. Seeing more detail about what your teammates have going on is great, but seeing your enemies removes many aspects of trickery, risk, and stealth; those were the things that made one-on-one combat exciting and dynamic, even in matchmaking battles. What's next, enemy health bars? An indicator for how reloaded their turrets are? If they aren't on your team, they should be a bit unpredictable.

TL;DR:

  • Defender nerf good
  • Status indicators take away skill and fun
  • Please fix the html5 bugs and give us the "better in all respects" html5 that you've been promising.

Ultimately, quality interface and gameplay are what will win over reluctant and estranged players.

Actually, it's quite a nice interface update. it's annoying when you shoot an enemy and don't know whether or not they have defender active. Also, things like spawn protection indicators and overdrive indicators were requested by players for a LONG time, so that's a bunch of completed ideas right there.
