It is better than having them facing risk of hacking on gtank. Plus it will keep a larger pool of player a low rank, but they will be skilled, quite challenging for real newbies. 
All in all, it is a clever trick from the Great Nutty One. But new players might not like the disappearance of these after rank 9. But maybe it is too late they would be hooked already.

From what I remember of crystal box mults they'll be useless. Most likely will have no interest in battling and will just camp near dropzones with dictator or run around with barely upgraded Wasps + speed boost. Sitting ducks and cannon fodder. Might also get more people starting new accounts to target these cry box mults rather than newbies that are playing to win. Seems like a good time to start a new account with high damage turrets and snipe away.

Buyers with the "Shredder Kit" (Hornet + Vulcan + Incendiary Band + Heat Immunity) will be looking for easy mults to target.

Will Gold Boxes be removed from low-rank battles too? There are a large amount of low-ranked accounts who just sit around waiting for a gold to drop.

They didnt mention anything of this sort. It is safe to say that Gold box mechanism wont be affected. 

As far as the problem of gold campers is concerned, there is little that can be done against it except just reporting those players whom you suspect are multing.

Crystals box will be an addition to the battle fund, it looks like it won't be exactly the same as before, more of an hybrid system. Then they will gradually disappear as you rank up.

 The drone Crysis is based on the "Nanosuit" from the game "Crysis". The Nanosuit has special abiliies: Super Strength, Super Speed, Super Armor and Cloak (invisibility). This video showcases the powers from the first Crysis game. So for TO, I think you will have these "powers" when using Supplies: Super Damage (Double Damage), Super Speed (Speed Boost) and Super Armor (Double Armor). But as stated, it will consume a lotta Supplies.

That would just make it more pay-to-win since it's mostly buyers who can afford that number of batteries.

Ah yes, ULTRA containers, you know, the ones only available in the shop and the special missions that have them sometimes. Can't wait to get that drone in 20never from the max 20 ultra containers I can get in a year.

i really hope the dev's make this happen, as many buyers play on low ranks during gold events solely to catch golds, thus making the life of new players and free players a LIVING NIGHTMARE !

 

low ranks are really unplayable during golds events (way too many speed hackers & gold digger buyers with OP kits from the shop), well, i guess we will have to wait & see what they gonna do about this !

Ah, that's great. I am glad that gold boxes are here to stay and that small crystals boxes will randomly drop to please players with a small crystal compensation like it was in the early days of Tanki Online. I never played Tanki Online in its early days, so I don't know much about Tanki's past.
