Imagine you have never played tanki and you open it for the first time and you see 10-years-old Flash interface. Will you give a try to this game?

Just take a look on how new games look like.

That's besides the point, what about the people the existing players who dislike HTML5 graphics etc. The 10-year-old flash interface is what the majority of players prefer I believe. Also, the '10-year-old' flash interface looks cleaner and way easier to manouver around, and the majority of players find it easier to use. The very few NEW players that are coming, may find it 'old', but will soon come to get used to it.

I genuinely cannot bare to see the game that I've been playing for YEARS, to be ruined by HTML5 (ofcourse my own opinion), but Tanki MUST do something for some players who prefer to play using the flash interface, to do so.

The loading take forever for me even with good internet speed.

HTML5 client ate my ram and slow my PC and overheat skyrocket, I'm going back to flash client.

Disconnect exception error is really made me mad, lots of loading and then lost of connection.

I'm going back to flash client If flash client die then this game will die with it for me (I'm playing for years [Joined February 17, 2015]) I'm a devoted player to this game but what I saw from other games made me jealous, games like pubg and fortnite where they have hug amount of players and devs who Liston to their players (The customer is always right).

A good way to correct this is to delete this monstrosity called HTML5 and try another language like C# or C++, and as computer science student I can tell you that HTML5 & Desktop is a horrible thing, especially in games where speed and low overheat is king.

Has the new HTML5 client been released yet?

Yes, quite some time ago already. Today just marks its official legal release. You can download it from here.

Is it finished?

As the HTML5 version of the game is continuously being developed and improved, you can expect changes and updates to in the future. Though overall yes, it's all ready for playing, so check it out!

At the moment you can only use one Shift key on your keyboard — either Shift Left or Shift Right. As to which of the two Shift keys is being used, you can change that in the game's Control Settings. The default Shift key being used is ShiftL, though ShiftR is placed far more conveniently on the keyboard, especially if you're using the arrow key tank controls, so I would definitely recommend you use the latter option — ShiftR.

All of the opponents' protection modules are already being displayed in the battle's tab, under the 'Defence %' section of the table, which is super convenient, due to being able to view all of the enemy team's protection modules in one place, and in a quick press of a button. That's something that the Flash version doesn't have.
Also, all of the enemies' protection modules and their respective percentages against your active equipped turret are already being displayed next to their tank's usernames, which is all you really need to know. To make a quick assessment of which modules the opponents' team is using, just press the Tab key and evaluate the turret change.

To give my personal opinion on the HTML5 vs. Flash client debate, I've only played on the HTML5 client a little, and can already tell you that it's far more developed and superior compared to the obsolete Flash one. We can expect even more changes and improvements in the near future.

I've gotten used to the HTML5 camera, but what the heck is up with Shaft's scoping vision, sometimes it speeds up out of no where and then slows down, making sniping insanely difficult on maps where shaft used to be good on. This is making me might as well play the noob turret Gauss

I am using the HTML5 version of Tanki Online and I have no problems at all. My PC is very fast. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 - 8 Core Processor, 16GB RAM and Windows 7 SP1 - 64-bit. I am playing Tanki Online on the new Chromium Edge Browser that was released for Windows 7 on January 15th 2020. Everything works so fine when playing Tanki Online. My keyboard also supports anti-ghosting, which means that I can both drive my tank and turn the turret left and up (up and down for Magnum).

Tanki Online is supposed to make the move to HTML5 because Flash is dying. Flash will be fully discontinued on the 31st December 2020, as announced on the banner message you see when running Google Chrome or Chromium Edge browser. You must make the move to HTML5 or you will no longer be able to play Tanki Online because Flash will be fully removed after the 31st December 2020. That is the deadline date for all Flash technology, not just Tanki Online.

HTML5 is so much faster than Flash and has more features and abilities that are not possible in Flash. Soon, the Ares hull will be released only for the HTML5 version of Tanki Online. If you continue to use Flash, the Ares hull and Special Missions shall not be available in this outdated game client version of the game. It is primordial that you make the switch to HTML5 as soon as possible, like developers have mentioned many times since the very first release of HTML5.

At first, the HTML5 game client or the browser based version of HTML5 may look and feel weird to you, but after a few days of playing Tanki Online with HTML5, you will very quickly get used to it. Please make the move now to HTML5 before its too late. HTML5 is many, many times better in every aspect of the game than the outdated Flash technology. HTML5 is still yet to improve. Its not quite finished yet. When its finished, its game performance will further improve in overall game performance experience.

I sincerely hope that someone of high rank in the decision-making of Tanki reads this 1. I am from America and we do not have as easy access to powerful modern PC's or cell phones as the players of Europe 2. The HTML5 besides consuming more resources .. . (I mention again  low-resource computers) really does not finish converging us its interface. 3 I really want to play in html5 (although I don't like it ...) but due to the speed of the internet or my pc I can't .... but in flash I can continue playing. Sorry but I use the google translator since I don't know English.

I am not ashamed to say that my pc uses w7 and has 2 gb of ram, I only ask that these problems be taken into account since I do not think I am the only one in all of America to have this type of problem with html5

They don't need to move to HTML5, just make a native client for desktop and phones and that it. why they insist on browsers' technology when people shift to outside the browsers entirely? It is not 2000 anymore. They keep using browser base game engines while there are far better game engines to use for native apps, I gave Fortnite as an example they use Unreal Engine and it's very good and not resource eater.

It is not that HTML5 may look and feel weird to me, I always welcome new loo, but game performance is the problem here, slow and heavy, and a lot of lost connections.

The performance is supposed to be before the look, that a standard thing I learned. Players will pitch first about the performance then the look.

Well, developers mentioned many times that they must make the move to HTML5 to fully rewrite the whole game so that it performs perfectly without getting any errors or game development limitation. Native apps for clients, desktops and phones are not enough. That's why that are making the move to HTML5.

I spent all this money supporting the game I love and now I cant even play it! I get into a battle, I involuntarily self-destruct, cant do damage to my enemies and then get kicked out of the game for a server connection issue. Come on. Put the money we gave you to good use. Finish the product before releasing it.

I know you guys will see that many of us disagree and dont like the html5 but you guys wont listen to us and u will still go ahead with Html5

However the html5 in game graphics isnt bad but make the garage, shop, leaderboard, similar to flash version because it's looks bad and it's confusing

Or you can just close tanki and re Open tanki X since you guys killed tanki.

Wow...a lot of nasty comments by "super users" or whatever you are.  The notification said to come here and talk about problems with the HTML5 and what players are getting are LMAOs, "get a new computer", "you haven't been playing it long enough".  In other words, just deal with it or go away.  Not very helpful.

If they dont seriously fix this issue I wont be able to play anymore. And that is really gonna drive away the buyers like me.

I would argue that more than half of the players sharing negative feedback haven't even tried playing with the HTML5 client, and are forming their opinions on the basis of other shared positions on the topic. Once people get a chance to play with this new client, their comments will be better fitting.

Sorry, but i do not agree with this. I think that you guys dont realize that there is truth in what we are complaining about. The new client is not an upgrade. Period. It's comparable to Windows 8. It shouldnt exist. The old Tanki actually works on the machines it's run on. Not everyone has the ability to acquire a new computer or better internet service. I think those bashing on the negative repliers are missing that crucial point! Sorry to have to tag you in this, but nobody seems to be reacting to our view of what's happening. Nobody is acknowledging us. Only those who agree with the devs are getting attention. Without opposition their is no growth. Without accepting the fact that maybe we are telling the truth Tanki will eventually tank due to starvation of its own clientele.

I agree that your internet connection is slow as well as your PC. If the HTML5 version of Tanki online does not work well on your PC, then, for the time being you may continue to use Flash. Have a word with the Tanki Online development team and they should help you find an alternative on what to do when Flash goes away.
