Downloadable HTML5 client

I believe that going forward with html5 is the the only chance Tanki has.

However, as others have expressed, on older computers (mine is 5 years old) the html5 client and browser induces massive spikes in RAM and crashes at least once per game, both of which obviously prevents a good gameplay. From my point of view, the recent update wich reduces lag specifically in firefox, did not significantly improve my condition, as when I try to play on that browser, it is no responding almost half the time. This is dramatically different to the flash client which is super smooth and nearly never crashes.

If the current lag isssues of html5 are not somehow solved, for me, the early discontinuation of flash would mean the start of a Tanki hiatus.

Give it time. One day, perhaps soon, the developers will be able to fix all these problems, and everyone will be happy. A good game is not developed in one day, but is refined thousands of times. As long as you are patient, everything will work out fine. People are always able to adapt to new changes, clearly evident in my half-decade long journey playing Tanki Online.

One day the HTML version will be just as good, if not better, than the flash version, and you can trust me on that.

I see that YOU are not a professional programmer or simply don't know the Marphies law and this is it

"When you try to remove one bug in a program you enter the 2 new bugs".

I mean when they every time introduce a new feature in a game they enter the new one or two or maybe more bugs in a game.

Only need the time to know that.

When I a say bug I don't mean a real bug that stops program to work, no.

Enough is to unbalance the hulls or weapons changing the parameters of it.

Maybe they think that it is interesting to change something for a change, but more often they do a chaos method changing for a change.

It says that tanki online has been installed, but it doesn't show up anywhere and I have to "re-install" it every time I want to play. And the screen goes grey every time I join and exit battles or my garage and I have to exit the game and "re-install" to re-enter the game. html5 is unplayable and is the only version that I can even play on now, because i deleted flash and there is no possible way to get it back. Please help, I can't even play anymore.

Today, I have successfully installed the new HTML5 game client for Tanki Online. I have played my first battle in it and it works 100% perfectly. Here is a screenshot of my first battle in this new HTML5 game client.

Thank you so much for the hard work you put in to develop this new HTML5 game client for Tanki Online. Its very fast and works without any crashes or other problems. Well done. I have installed this new game client on my Windows 7 PC and works blazingly fast. I have also found out that when installing this new HTML5 game client, it overwrites the old outdated Flash client. You forgot to explain that in V-Log 255. Please explain it in the next V-Log 256. Many thanks.

Just some examples of GUI issues in HTML5, the Battle List in the HTML5 layout isn't as friendly as the Flash layout. You have to click into the individual battles to go in and see the map the battle is on whilst in the Flash version, when you click on the battle, the right column shows the map the battle is on.

Also, whilst playing in HTML5 mode, how do you see your protection gear of yours and others? Previously in Flash we pressed the letter V. Now i have to escape to see my garage settings whilst in battle.

You can view everyone's protection modules in one convenient place by pressing the Tab key (under the 'Defence %' section of the battle scoreboard).

Can we still download the Flash client and if yes, from where?

The Flash client can still be downloaded from here (or here, in case you're a Mac user).

I FOUND A VERY ANNOYING ISSUE

Although html5 has so much more room for new turrets/hull and more;

It has a very big problem i have seen with many other players: It heats up the PC and makes it so that the fan goes the maximum speed to cool it down.

After a while, one can notice the decline in performance. This may cause harm to the components too.

Starting other applications after closing html5 is very slow. I didn't know where to post this so i posted this here.

This is not just annoying, but serious. I experienced this, and it is NOT pleasant.

Creative criticism

1. I have a gaming laptop (doesn't matter if it's Hz60) and in all the battles I've had in HTML5 I experienced interruptions during the most crucial moments. FPS still has to be improved, I have better performance on Flash with it. I am not exagerating. This is how it is (in my case).

2. I love the new interface, but if create join a group, I can't leave it because there is no button for that! I need to wait for the host of the group to disassemble it, or go to Flash version because it has a dedicated button there. That's the only thing that I don't like regarding the interface.

3. "Unlimited potential for developing new content" - ok that's cool if you guys can make new content, but if the community doesn't like it, it's not worth adding it/them to the game. The number 1 reason why most of the community is not satisfied with the updates is because they don't like them. Yes, we do want the game to be balanced but not by removing features that we liked. I am gonna ask you a question:

What is more important for a game?
A) Keep the game balanced the way you think it is balanced.
B) Keep the community happy and satisfied with the updates (and/or balance changes).

B) is the obvious correct answer. If you keep updating the game with changes that the community doesn't like, they will just stop playing it. And what are you going to do then, when you will have no players? Just ask all the time "What have we done wrong?"? Look, even if you think that all the updates and balance changes you've made recently are needed for the game, you can't just give a brief reason in a V-LOG and then leave it. The community demands proper explanation and THE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE THE FUTURE OF THE GAME with the developers. You guys said there are new stuff coming during Tanki's Birthday. Well, what's the point if we won't like it? (And you can't assume that we will like it because the majority of the updates and balance changes only pulled hatred.) In that case, you should always reach out to us, and our opinions so you will introduce updates that are pleasant and fun. Not in your perspective, but in our's. It doesn't have to be cool for you. It has to be cool for us!

My main message to YOU:
In my humble opinion, I think updates should be community dependent: We get to decide with polls in-game (not a hard thing to introduce because HTML5 has unlimited potential for that) or in the forum (websites are also done by HTML5 so that's not hard either). I wish I could have a talk with you, because you barely (more like never) respond in any shape or form apart from V-LOGS (which is also VERY rare). You never reply on Youtube either, so we don't know if you actually look into our feedback. Have you EVER looked in "Ideas for..." forum pages? Countless and overwhelming amount of good ideas have been written there, only to become a thing of the past because you didn't review them. You keep trying to introduce updates that we like. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you don't. And every time you don't, players are quitting the game. Where are the other 80.000 players 5 years ago, when about 110.000 tankers were playing every day? Why is it 20.000 today? We can pump these numbers up, but without actual democracy, it won't happen. And by democracy, I mean THE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE THE FUTURE OF THE GAME with polls.

If any Helper or some sort deletes this comment he/she is a horrible person because all I said above is true, correct, rightful, equitable, justifiable and legitimate.

Just a thing, u can leave group by clicking your own name and then leave group. Honestly a nifty little "Leave Group" button would help.
