Why was I placed in the Defending team in 9 assault battles in a row?

I would expect that to be a 1 in 512 chance, and while I could just be unlucky (I was trying to complete a capture flags mission so wanted to attack), I have a feeling something else is at play. This is not the first time something like this has happened - I've gotten 6 or 7 defending teams in a row a few times before.

I'd say it's just luck.  Personally, I'd LOVE to be in your shoes playing defense in ASL all day long...except in the Iran map.  Typically, though, I would be placed on the attacking team once or twice – never more than three times – before landing on the defending team.

Can you be more specific? I know it’s trying to make more balanced matches, but is there something about the equipment I can change that will make the MM system not favor defense so heavily?

Could be. At least I don’t mind playing defense most of the time, given the frequent opportunities to heal teammates.
