Assault Mode is BROKEN

In short, defending team is much better off than the attacking one.

Assault mode on certain maps is UNBALANCED. This is due to the defending team is highly favorable where their base is in the corner or the edge of the map, meanwhile the attacking team have to carefully attack their base or whenever they die, the defenders get one score.

However, this could be easily fixed with bringing the defending team's base to the center of the map like the one in Aleksandrukhov or Wolfenstein so the attacking team has much more chances to win the battle.

I think it almost always favours one team or the other based on map but I don't think it always favours the defending team. There are several maps where it's incredibly hard to impossible to defend.

the assault mode in 2015 used to be good with only 1 flag, it used to be balanced, but since they changed it to 3 flags in 2016 it become very unbalanced

Assault mode is the game mode with most imponderabilities resulting from map and team composition (though I do not see a systematic advantage for the defending team). When I am in the mood for surprise and successful improvisation, I like the mode for exactly the huge imponderabilities when clicking for a battle assignement.

when its  assault and the defending team has a bunch of mammoth/titans -vulcan with incendiary band and heat immunity along with fully upgraded drones and tonnes of supplies while everyone on my team keeps leaving

Attackers on large map at huge disadvantage.  Takes a long time to get to cap points on some maps and if you die - all for nothing.  While defenders with long-range turrets can score from anywhere.

Definitely agree.  Thanks to Matchmaking randomness, attacking teams are typically not ready to stand a chance at overcoming the foe team's strong defense.  While there are those well-functioning teams with "Pro" players that can blow past the defense and score flags constantly, it's more common to find random blokes getting themselves stuck in a perpetual cycle of 1) randomly running to the defenders' base, 2) dying, 3) respawning, and 4) do it all again.

In addition to your idea of putting the defenders' base towards the center of maps, I would propose buffing the reward for capping flags in ASL from 5 points to maybe 7 or 10 points.  That way, big enough holes in the defense can actually be more punishing for the defending team, giving the attacking team a better chance at winning.

Some maps like "Highways"? YESS. 

I like assault mode honestly. You get 50 experience points capping the flag. Equip hammer with wasp and easily get 50 EXP. I love Assault mode on that map whose name I literally forgot.. :x

Anyways, it is Speed>Anything else.
